GS430 MK3 05 reg. How do the plastic sill covers come off please. I need to inspect the rear sill area cos it looks like there is a rust problem around the jacking points. Thanks. Jim

If you want to change the coolant sensor anyway it's relatively easy, I got one for mine for £20 from euro and it works perfectly. You can swap it over with coolant in the system just do it as quick as possible to avoid losing too much coolant, also be careful where it leaks out to, on mine the transmission was directly under the sensor but I only let a bit out and it didn't go into the vent. I had a bit of a mare trying to figure out if I'd over or under-tightened mine because I didn't have a torque wrench when I swapped it over, would strongly recommend looking up the torque spec and using a quality torque wrench. You really don't want to over-tighten it and crack something.

Pictured is the air scoop (both sides are the same). Something's missing here. Can anyone fill me in on that. A grill, mesh or blank maybe. I surmise it's to direct air to the discs. Once again thanks for your help.
Thanks Paul, now I know. I've painted the inside with matt black and it's practically invisible now.

GS 430. 05reg. 141000 mls. Near FLSH. My car ticks over too fast for too long from cold. It takes about 6/7 miles before it drops to about 750 RPM. The Temp Gauge in all circumstances only gets to quarter way up the gauge. I'm thinking normal should be at least halfway. The heater does get warm to hot-ish. Maybe a change of thermostat and/or is there a temp sensor, and if so OEM or after market and/or clean the throttle body. I know the earlier V8's did have a TB problem solved.

GS 430. 05reg. 141000 miles. 125000miles Lexus Glasgow history. My car stood for about an hour in total as the tyre fitters were very busy but come to start after the tyres were fitted it was dead as a door nail. The dash lights were on but faded and the starter sounded like it was clicking. My trusty fitter connected his portable charger and it fired immediately. Travelled about 5 miles to my trusty garage who checked the Battery and alternator which were spot on. I did not charge the Battery and used the car every day but the same thing happened when I stood for about 15 minutes in a car park with the radio on and it wouldn't start, same scenario. After the first incident I had put my spare Battery and jump leads in the boot and again it fired up and I've been using it since. The car in general, performs excellently. Any ideas please. Door card swap. GS430. 05 reg. I've taken the damaged O/S/R door card off to swap with a card that came off a GS450h. Unfortunately the wiring is different as in the photos. 1 & 4......2 & 5 single plug/ double plug and 3 & 6 are the tweeters. No. 6 is Mark Levinson (excuse the blurred pic). First 3 photos are from the 450h. Do you think the looms can be swapped without causing electrical problems, non working items or warning lights on the dash. I've found the Beige trim hard to come by. Another way would be to buy any colour from a ML model and swap looms. Thank you. Jim

Not at the moment. I'm doing a snagging list which gets longer, as ever, and the parts I want are hard to come by. It's going into my trusted garage on Wednesday and he'll check it all out and I'll know what sort of battle plan I'll need and the days are getting shorter and colder so just plodding on one job at a time.
It's silver, Palidio? and beige leather. I'm about 60% complete cleaning, feeding and Mr. Sheening the inside which is coming up very nice.

Morning all. I've bought myself a GS 430 05 reg which needs an o/s/r door card in beige and I would think about all 4 door cards, the cup holder in the centre console with the light wood finish (not the black), both clear side repeaters in the front wings and the grilles in the front bumper air scoops. If any members can help in sourcing these parts or have surplus items for sale contact me on price etc. I'm going through the usual channels, eBay, 247 parts, 1st choice etc. The sun roof doesn't work, says the seller, so I'll leave well alone for the time being. Would like some tips on what may be wrong and a fix. I've had it a week now and it goes well, engine/gearbox, suspension, brakes, beige interior, 18" refurbed alloys and premium tyres and all fittings work well. The bonnet has the GS bubbling and probably cheaper and easier to replace. It needs a bit of tidying after 140,000 miles but FLSH up to 2016. Jim

I haven't been on here for yonks mainly because I had PC problems but with the help of Trevor (admin) who sorted out the password problems and my frustration. I'm Lexusless at the moment but always looking. Will try to make a worthwhile contribution soon. Jim

Tiger Fish will fix it for you. Many moons ago he sent me the method when my VSC light came on after the LPG man plugged in his diagnostic kit which triggered the light so nothing dangerous concerning that. Off the top of my head it involves shorting pins 4 & 14 on the OBD port, ignition on for 6 minutes. I'll hunt out the print out to be sure this is correct if no one comes back to you. I'm sure they will.

Who said "old age wasn't for sissies" Page 6 July 10th was my "Finale" on TPMS. Hope this helps. I must have been on every GS300 site round the world and nobody came up with a Disable solution for this car. Loads of other makes and Lexus models but not this one.

If you look on here for my eventual remedy to knackered TPMS I replaced three non working sensors very economically. £30 each from a place in Scotland plus my regular garage fitted and coded them. I'll look for the post and get back to you. Possibly about June/July this year.

Now that you've done that try changing the wheels front to back and see if there's any difference.

Swap the tyres over. It may save an awful lot of time and effort and money

Previous to Covid 19 viewing was anytime. There's 3 car auctions near me, Mannheim at Washington and BCA at Newcastle but not sure on their procedures now

Yes Mark, there's a row of (rubber) poppers underneath and poppers along the bottom of the door shut. Apologises for the wait but the decision I've come to is to sell the car "as is"
