  1. yup, when you lock your doors you should hear 1 beep, upon opening you should get 2. this just controls the volume.
  2. leus nottingham, cambelt will be £299 then you will need the service charge which is also a good price there. google lexus nottingham. speak with louse .
  3. i have exactly the same at the moment, mines in on tuesday all being well!
  4. well we went down yesterday to get the car done. we arrived at lexus nottingham at around 11.am we signed the paper work etc. price £299 cambelt changed, would be an extra about £60 if tensioner required but not known untill replaced. lexus then booked us a taxi to nottingham for the day, we went round the castle, down the caves, had some lunch and a spot of shopping in the centre etc. we then got a call from lexus saying the cars coolant was ****** basically. it would be £30 to change it, i said go ahead! taxi picked us up and took us back to lexus, all free drinks, comfy sofas, watching tv. car was finished we paid up, with the cambelt change they do a full car check for free so i have a little list of things that need sorting.
  5. i think the belt was last done at around 67k ive booked in for the belt, will do oil myself and leave the transmission fluid untill it needs doing, i only cover about 7-8k a year so will be fine for a bit yet.
  6. nah i mean the key pushes into the lock on the boot but int wont turn, just wont budge and i dont want to break it, its worked fine before this tho! sure oil change wont take one, done loads on my 200sx but never 1 on the lexus, all the same tho. i will have a look at the transmission fluid, its not giving me any problems and is a light red in colour with no funny smell so may be ok. cheers guys!
  7. hey guys phone lexus nottingham today to get prices and they will do the cambelt for £299, they want an extra 60 for the tensionor which is fair enough. the opil change is £99 on offer done by them. transmission fluid done was £150 so £450 after all vat was added. not to bad a price but im sure the transmission fluid and oil change could be done cheaper. is the filter for the oil near the bottom? what oil dop i need? can i do the oil change my self and save money or would i only save 20-30 which if that is the case not worth me doing. cars done 123k cheers guys 1994 LS400 any tips appreciated! also is there a button to turn the boot off so you cant unlock it with the key? or is my lock jammed? was fine 3 days ago, my mum drove the car for 2 minutes (didnt touch the boot) and now i have to use the knob in the car as the key wont work!
  8. well to be honest i could probarbly get away with just replacing both cats and the centre section. ill try explain whats wrong. where the cats are bolted to the centre section you have like two wider parts that go together then they have the exhaust gasket in the middle of them and are bolted together i presume. they are rotten on both cats and also on the centre section where theyare bolted to the cats. when i put my hand over them i can feel the air blowing out of them and also it sounds ******* as it is. had it looked at at the garage next to my work (they do most of my work) and i went on the ramps for a look and he said what i thought it was the whole exhaust looks quite rusty really id love a proper polishes stainless one but cant stretch to that at the minute. not in a rush though its not so bad its going to fall off etc.
  9. well i need a need exhaust on my 1994 ls400. i was bidding on a power flow system on ebay but i had to pull out at the last minute due to funds. sold for 120 quid aswell. people think i would be better going for a second hand standard version or a stainless steel version?
  10. they think im an old man, all taking the *****, i gave them a ride in it now they want one! yeh it does have ***** tires on, its running pirelle somethings. i used to run potenzas on the 200, 18/265/35 there so bloody expensive though at like 135 quid a go.
  11. think all my facts on the car are correct if not let me know! not trying to educate you lot i just copied that straight over from the sxoc :)
  12. had my new car nearly a month now and absolutly loving it! its so comfortable to drive and makes you want to be in it. totally different driving style to a 200 etc. it is hard to run as the mpg isnt great im realistically returning about 16-20 MPG i would of thought though i was near 30 the other week when i went to london on a run. 0-60 is pretty slow but it startes to feel fast around the 80 mark, took it to 140 and it hit it very quickly with no problems. its limited to 155 i believe. its a 1994 mark II so it has 260 BHP and 273 ft/lb, well it did 15 years ago! 4.0 V8, if you pull up at the petrol station you think youve stalled as theres absolutly no noice, but open it up and the noise is lovely. it doesnt do corners but i dont want it for that anyway. so far i have to say its the best car ive ever owned! and ive had a few: micra 1987 fiesta 1.4 zetec hyundai coupe F2 2.0 honda accord 2.0 pug 306 1.4 suzuki vitari 1.6 S14a 300bhp laguna sport tourer now the lexus! its really brilliant, also ive dropped on with insurance at 22 years old 5 years no claims in doncaster 600 fully comp with protected no claims! anyway wont be many peopls cups of tea but a few pics: pics where taken after a quick rinse after a motorway journey. needs wheels imo! :D
  13. brilliant thanks mark, i will try this! my renewel just came through at 1300 with adrian flux. on compare the market i got it down to 830 fully comp. now best i cant find is 620 with direct line. i live in doncaster and im only 22 with 5 years no claims.
