I have a 55 plate too and my drivers side mirror occassionally refuses to move horizontally , the vertical movement is fine on both and I use that for reversing, My lexus dealer quoted £350 for a new one , no offer of investigation or repair just a new one . Guess what I did ?

Perfectly normal , Like all toyotas the engine has to reach a certain temperature before it changes up to top gear .

Is it under warranty ?

I had my rear calipers changed last month under the extended warranty , like you say a well known fault .

Doesent have to be a Lexus dealeership any reputable tyre house will do it ,no problem

Sounds to me like its your tracking that needs checking.

Are you using the AUX function ?

I had a loan of a courtesy CT200H last week and your right it goes straight to the sat-nav or the reversing camera within a couple of seconds , Much Much better but I wouldnt swap it for my car.........

No , I only get the acceptance screen when the sat-nav starts up and then the reversing camera comes on as soon as reverse is selected

My first service after buying the car both my front calipers were seized and the mechanic managed to free them for an hour or so labour, I must add that this was not a Lexus service! like Toyota they never seem to remove the wheels and check the calipers , I have had a lifetime of Toyotas and the service is always the same the wheels are not removed every service and thats the reason I dont go there anymore.

It definitely sounds like the battery is low, just a pound or two from most diy shops and as easy as abc to install . just pull the fob apart with your fingers and thats it basically .;)

I have a 55 SEL with MM and quite honestly I would not dream of updating the satnav as the only bits missing on the map are the new AI in North Yorks and obviously any new roads round about where you are, and lets be honest there arent many new roads ! Other members have commented that the Lexus disk is £650 and others who have bought on Ebay etc are never very happy with their purchase. Just drive the car and enjoy it Im sure you wont be disappointed with either the car or the sat nav.
