  1. Well, it's a typing error I mean BIG boar :winky: Grtz, Philip!
  2. Phill, thanks for the answer. Otherwise, 200 views, and no other responses :( C'mon guys, I really wanna know what you think, anything might be usefull. I'm just brainstorming and could use another one's point of view Grtz, Philip!
  3. Ben, since yours is an automatic transmition, it is, on a manual gerabox, it's just not possible Grtz, Philip!
  4. A good looking oldie :P Mine is from march 2000, so only a few months less old, and yours looks better. I really like the wheels, finally I can see how dark aloys and a normal lowering kit looks like, it looks great. And what's this about those headlights, I see there's somekind of a difference, but can't really pinpoint it? Grtz, Philip!
  5. Honnestly, it's good that you're thinking of buying wintertyres ("cause they DO make a huge difference), than again, it's stupid to buy only two The rear wheels wil have grip, al looks fine, and suddenly the front is going straight where it shouldn't. The back is pushing the car straight, since they don't know if you wanna go left or right, the front has no grip at all, and just goes straight ahaed, wether you tunr the wheel or not. Besides, deciding you need wintertures at the back, isn't that enough to make you see your summertyres are just not doing what they should? I know it's a cost, but I need my car, riding my bike when I can't even leave the street is not an option, and ending up in a ditch, of against a wal or other car is gonna cost much more than a set of wintertyres. And the summertyres aren't used in the meantime, so they don't wear as quickly :winky: Grtz, Philip! P.S: I do think steelies of an Avensis do fit, might go and ask a tyre dealer, or Toyota dealer and be sure.
  6. I'll take some pics tomorrow, or next time I think of it. Grtz, Philip!
  7. That is the ideal solution. Just never seen steelies for a Lexus I've got them, bought them at the tyre dealer. Half the price of an ugly aloy. Grtz, Philip!
  8. So, my first idea to keep the Lex in it's original state is pretty much out of the door These are some things I'm gonna start with, keep in mind, it's not gonna be a radical transformation, just want to make a bit more "mine". The colour is dark green metallic, and I'm trying to get rid of the chrome accents. So, I'm looking for the TTE front bumper, and a small rear spoiler on the rear. Don't know which one yet, nothing to fancy. Than, I'd like to change the back lights and the rear fog lights to smoked ones. I don't like the red fog lights in the trunk bonnet. For the muffler, I was gonna keep it simple, but the more I look at those Japanese styled "bog boar" mifflers, the more I think I'm tempted to go that way. Just the rear muffler though, not gonna change anything else on the exhaust line. Since at the rear, there wont be anything shiny left (chrome I mean) I'm gonna get rid of the badges, exept the round central Lexus badge. That one I'm gonna keep, but thinking of painting (spraypainting) it with a cote of dark, to make it look like back lights, smoked chrome. On the top of the rear window, I'm thinking of placing a spoiler, like the E36 BMW M3 model. One in carbon, real carbon I mean, not something fake. At the front, I'm thinking of placing the smoked lights to, it just depends on how the TTE bumper and dark mesh grille is gonna look like. If it's stil to shiny, they will be replaced. The reason I want the TTE front bumper is because you can fit it, without having to fit side and rear extra's, it looks good, but it(s not crying for more bits 'n pieces. Than, now is my biggest question. The original 17" alloys. I'd like the paint them, seeing the rest of the car is darkened, I think those shiny wheels wouldn't fit. I'm thinking of painting them semi gloss black. Or, I might buy some 18" OZ 35th Anniversary's. I really like them, like them a lot, but they don't come cheap. Of course, fitting al these things, you need to lower the car, but I don't wanna overdo it. So I'm thinking of just replacing the springs with either Koni or Eibach springs, and lower the car about 2cm, not more. Finishing touch might be to smoke the back window, and the rear door windows. MOT in Belguim doens't allow you to somke the front side windows. I'd go for just a bit of smoke, not completely black, I do want to be able to see through the rear windows. This is brainstorming, for the time beeing, but I'm really thinking about it. So, any advice, or do's or dont's :winky: Grtz, Philip! P.S: Sorry for the long text, I'm just typing and thinking at the same time P.S2: Sorry for the errors in the text, English isn't my native language
  9. I want one to, but I'm searching for a beige one, don't even know if they exist Which colour would an original armrest have in a beige leather/suede beige interior? Grtz, Philip!
  10. Tyres are brandnew, just had winterDunlops fitted about 1000km ago, the Lex was really sensitive with the summerB'stones aswel. I'm guessing it's just the overpowered powersteering, and the ratio of the steering system. It's nothing alarming though, just need to get used to it :winky: Grtz, Philip!
  11. I think it starts to kick in at about 4200Rpm. Can't be sure though, with this weather, I often go over 4000Rpm Grtz, Philip!
  12. I have mine for about three weeks now, done about 1000Miles (beeing 1600km's overhere) on it, and I also have some issues that I would've liked otherwise: - MPG, or litres per 100km's. I get around 10L/100Km, and that's not what I'd call economic. Than again, I knew it before I bought it. - Very, and I mean really, short gear ratios! Really, it's almost rudicilous how fast you have to shift gears, the fact that it's a 6-speed doesn't really help a bit. I often just pull away from trafficlights in second gear, and when I'm cruising I mostly go from second to fourth, and skipping fifth when entering the motorway. They should've used the gear ratio of a normal five speed gearbox, and added a sixth, overdrive, gear in it. Now you're driving at 140Km/hour, and reving up to 4000Rpm, just plain stupid. - Since I have a manual, I don't have a cruise control. Lexus apparently thought that placing a CC on a manual transmission was to difficult, or to dangerous, don't know which one to choose from. Strange, seeing my GF's BMW is a manual, and has CC, on the steeringwheel. - The steering is hyper sensitive, just sneezing causes the Lex to swirve of it's line, could've been better. Than there are the things I can change, like lack of an armrest and not beeing able to play MP3's on the original radio, these things will be fitted, altered or changed, according to what I want. The other things, I can't do didly about them, and that bothers me somewhat. Grtz, Philip!
  13. I just fitted winter tyres on the Lex, and it's a huge difference, I can really recomend this to anyone driving in wintery conditions. My driveway is about 80m long, and as it's partly private, the city don't throw any salt on it, so it stays snowed until it melts (which isn't gonna happen right now), so I needed to do something to get to my house. Seeing that my gf had no problems with the beemer 5 touring, I decided that it must've been the summer B'stone's that were causing me to not beeing able to move in any direction (exept sideways, which isn't always funny). Bought some Dunlops winter sport M3 on steel rims, and I drive around like there is no snow, the tyres just react as it should, cornering, acclerating and braking. The GS, he's not moving in ths weather. (The GS beeing a german bike :winky: ) Grtz, Philip!
  14. And that's my problem. No use looking for a serious reason, it's just like "I want that one!" Grtz, Philip!
  15. With the brand stamp of Scorpion pressed in it? Grtz, Philip!
