  1. The required interval for a new timing belt under normal driving condition is 90.000 miles, isn't 61.000 too soon?
  2. The Subwoofer in my LS 400 is ripped. I was wondering if anybody would know the size of it, and most important of all, How to remove it. I tried the other day but did not know how to get access to it. Thank you. :zee: welgaby@msn.com :zee:
  3. Most likely it is the valves, cylinder number 5 and 7 are notorious for making ticking noises, I got the same on my LS400 1990 welgaby@msn.com
  4. I need a wire set for my LS400 1990. Preferably DENSO, I wish I had NGK but I believe it is not availble. Does anybody know where can I get one Shipped to US, for a reasonable price? thanks welgaby@msn.com
  5. Sure, Anything to help fellow Lexusers like myself :winky:
  6. Not really, here in US whe have the following gas choices: In Octane 87.89,92,93,103,105 It is up to person to choose. I just can not believe a person buys such well made and expensive car and feed it with cheap gas. I saw an old guy at the gas station driving a $ 140K Mercedes Benz and filling up with cheap gas. How cheap can you be? If you can afford such expensive car, i thought gas prices would no bother...
  7. :zee: LS400 POWER STEERING FLUID & EXHAUST SMOKE COMBINATION :zee: Here was my problem the car is a LS400 1990 Morning start up, the car would smoke, white smoke, only at the start up. Also the Power steering fluid was going down even though it was not leaking. How to solve this problem? By the back of the power steering pump, behind the fluid reservoir, has a little vacumm valve that has two little hose coming in to the (Throtle Body/Intake Manifold) The function of this valve is to rev the engine up, in case of you turning the steering too much to one side , and having the A/C on, it will keep the engine from running RPMs too low. To test and make sure that you could have the same problem, umplug the two little hoses from the (Throtle Body/Intake manifold) and buy two, litle caps and plug the two little niples where the hose where attached to the manifold. Drive for few days , and keep an eye on the fluid level and the start up in the morning. If the smoke is gone and the fluid in no longer going down, you will need to replace the little valve. I replaced my one by myself, it is quite a job, but I manged to do it. Also it is a good time to flush the system and replace the fluid. (MAKE SURE YOU PROTECT THE ALTERNATOR DOWN BELOW) If you have any question feel free to contact me . Good luck. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU welgaby@msn.com
  8. Here in the States we calle it ( PINGING ) It usually happens when you are running cheap low octane Gasoline. Remember LS400 requires high octane gasoline because of the higher compression it runs. You can try to get better gas or add some octane booster to each fuel tank full welgaby@msn.com
  9. ;) I recently bought a High mileage LS400 1990 I looks like the power steering hose is leaking fluid What else should I look for . Do I have to tune it up? It has 129 K miles. Is there a place to buy parts reasonably cheaper? Thanks welgaby@msn.com
