  1. Cheers for all the advise, will look in to going further.
  2. The MOT centre do not look at the spare on an MOT but if they notice it and it is not legal then they have to inform the car presenter of the illegal tyre. Legal advise I have taken say it basically my word against there word if I take to a small claims court, but suggested going to trading standards and see what they say.
  3. In June this year my wife and I bought a Lexus L400 form a dealer (not Lexus dealer), on checking the car we found that the spare tyre was flat, so the salesman said it would be sorted out, it was put in for an MOT where they did some work on it to get it through the MOT. On picking up the car I checked to see if it had been blown up and it had. Yesterday on cleaning the boot out, I had to take the spare out because something had fallen down past it, and the spare is bald and has a great big gash in it. Took the car back to the dealer and they say that there is no legal requirement for the car to have a legal spare tyre for them to sell the car, ?????????, which I find hard to believe, they offer to do a new tyre at trade price at the garage which did the MOT. I always thought it was a legal requirement to have five legal tyres for an MOT but the garage says not so. So I asked if they had taken the spare out to inflate it they said no they hadn't, so someone at the dealer's took out the spare and inflated it, and put it back in the car. That person must have seen the state of the tyre. I am wondering if anyone could advise on the legal requirements of selling a car with illegal tyres and on MOT's? I am going to speak to a lawyer to find out where I stand
  4. Cheers lexuslexus, I have tried that whether or not it is working I don't know. The alarm now only goes off at night so I have come to the conclusion that it is scared of the dark, because during the day it works nomally. Can anyone advise how to cure it? Any help would be helpfull. :winky: :winky: :winky:
  5. Is there any way of adjusting the sensitivity of the alarm, mine keeps going off for no reason. It will sit there as nomal and then it will go off twice in five minutes with nothing around the car and then be ok for hours and then do it again. Any ideas?
  6. While looking at the othe rpages on this site, I came across this item http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...ST&f=48&t=7325& I tried it and my car seems to run fine no problems, so heres hoping!
  7. On looking at the rev's when I come up to lights, the rev's dip right down to about 400 rpm, then go up to about 800 - 900 rpm and then settle down. If the is a long queue then this can happen two or three times while waiting for the lights. Any ideas??????????????
  8. No, it just cuts out. With it being so quiet I don't notice until i need to move away.
  9. I have had my LS400 for two weeks now, what a great car! But in the last week it has, twice, stalled when I have been going slowly in a line of traffic at lights. Has this happen to anyone before, and if so how do I overcome the problem? Thank you
  10. They changed them for the MOT. Picked up the Lexus on Thursday 26/06 and on Friday drove up to Peterhead in Scotland, to say it was a pleasure would be an understatement. It is the most comfortable car I have have ever been in let alone drive, talk about quiet. The best car I have owned yet. :D :D :D
  11. I have just bought a 1993 LS 400, the dealer has put it in for an MOT and the rear springs are going to be changed. How often does this occur, have the springs changed, is it regular and if so how often?
