    it was badged as an ls400 and on log book but if i remember the guy that bought it from mentioned it was possibly an import

    sadly no phil it was badged as a 400 but it had the rear radio controls which ive never seen on standard 400

    i bought this in 2011 off a wedding hire firm lovely car

    theres a 98 400 with dhp pack in knutsford .its been modded a bit ie exhaust interior lights few scratches and bumps short mot its on that facebook site 1500 oh and he states it needs a battery as well

    ive thought about the xj series jag or daimler sovereign as maybe a choice if the lexus market dried up

    try it with the air filter box partly open could need a new air filter or maf sensor

    i think there was a throttle body issue on the early ones if i remember my old mk11 used to stall after a long run then come up a slip road it would cut out ,i used to switch the air con on to bring the revs up not a fix but it solved my stalling issues

    well i went to pick the car up and upon seeing it in the flesh i declined it .the bonnet is badly faded and pitted looks like its been painted before a large scab on the back arch ,front air con pipes seriously corroded .new discs needed soon and the interior didnt match up to a car with supposedly that sort of mileage for his trouble he kept the £100 i paid to take it offsale .and to top it off he re lists it due to timewaster

    well after being without a 400 for over 10 months i got itchy feet and bought a 98 400 only done 108k cambelt done 10k ago 4 new tyres and a new battery yesterday pick it up saturday so pics will follow very soon

    i went to look at that car 2 yrs ago at 1500 quid turned it down then so why is now 6k unbelievable obviously a chancer

    martin now you ve owned the 400 and the 430 how would you rate the 430 in comparison to the 400 ? with the 400 s becoming very scarce these do seem the next best option

    it was full kit i think tensioners water pump ,still seems expensive

    the gentleman that bought my mk4 400 back in june got a quote of £1000 at lexus stockport to do the job ,just wondered if anyone can recommend someone around this area that could do it cheaper ? many thanx

    i had a landcruiser amazon a few yrs ago .the 100 series 4.2 td auto in dark green with cream leather and what an awesome thing it was .they really hold there value well too .as always a good service history .watch for rusty tailgate they are prone to that and very hard to source .i had the non air suspension model less to go wrong .

    and he bought that car off ebay this week for a grand ,the guy selling it said there was a bloke on his way from birmingham offered a grand without viewing it .

    i once had similar problems of cutting out on a 95 400 turned out to be throttle body which is a common problem didnt have any codes coming up though

    that one at bradford was a 1500 pound car 8 months ago it has subsequently gone through 2 owners to get to that price i remember its listing on the auction site .it sold to old baz who then sold it on for about 3k and its now for sale again at that
