  1. Hi all, I'm finding the accelerator peddle on my 2014 IS300h a little firm to operate, certainly in comparison to the Golf I've been using. I've had sticky clutch cables in the past so know what they are like and this is certainly not the same. The action on the Lexus peddle is smooth and free moving but it is just a little on the heavy side? Is this just a feature of this particular car? Do people find the peddle action on the firm side or are they light and easy to operate? Just wondering if it's time for a new cable etc... I don't have a second Lex so can't compare! All the best!
  2. No expert here, but my finding is that connected services worked fine with my IS300h via a WIFI connection using my phone as a hot spot. However, it only did this when I closed Bluetooth. Connected services would not connect at all if I had both WIFI and Bluetooth in operation on my phone and my car connected to both. Even though the car told me both systems were connected and functioning connected services would not work. Perhaps this is because originally I had set-up the portal details in the Bluetooth system set-up on the car but was trying to connect via WIFI? Not sure this helps but this observation may be useful to someone.
  3. Thanks guys, lots of useful tips there. I used the universal window closure quite a lot on my old Golf and missed it when I got rid. But by the sounds of it the Lexus setup is a bit different if it means the windows can remain open by accident. Maybe the key in the lock route is the best option. Anyway, thanks for all the tips!
  4. Ahh OK, Many thanks for the speedy reply! I will give it a shot with the dealer. All the best!
  5. Hi, I've just picked up a 2014 IS300h. Lovey car! But I'm wondering about how I can set-up remote key activation of the electric widows. Apparently a long press on the lock button should close the windows but when I try it does not. Wondering if this is a fault or if it requires some other setting to be changed in car? Many thanks for your advice in advance.
  6. Hi, I've been driving my old GS300 without problems for ages, but suddenly when I turn the key to start it all I get is a click. this happens about half the time. I first suspected the alternator, so tested it and the bettery. Ther battery hold a good charge and the alternator supplies a steady and healthy voltage when I measure its output while in idle. So now I'm wondering if its the immobilizer system at fault. Up to now I have always been able to get the car to start eventually. Usually when the fault occours it only clicks, then after a few attempts to start there is a sluggish turnover which halts. then after another one or two attempts the sluggish turnover gradually picks up speed and the car starts. I get the feeling that if I hold the key close to the start position but not quite, for a few seconds I can get the car to turn over more rapidly once I go to the start position. The other thing is, if I stop and restart the car sometimes its start no problem and sometime it goes through the clicking and nonstarting routine. Is there a simple way to defeat the immobilizer or bypass it somehow to test if it is in fact that thats the issue..? Anyway I hope someone can come up with some insight. Many thanks in advance.
  7. Hi there, I've just realised that my 1995 GS300 rolls back if I try to do a hill start on a steep hill. Is this a fault? I assumed that all automatics have anti roll-back systems when in Drive Mode? Of course on a shallow hill the normal forward creep holds the car, but if its a fair incline its too much and the car rolls back. Any advice?
  8. Hi Guys, I have to say thanks for all the help so far, this forum is great! Anyway, I'd be keen to hear if anyone has found out how to link an ipod or AUX-IN adapter into the factory fit stereo of a MK1 GS300? I have looked around the manufacturers but it seems that adapter kits are only available for later models. Big shame! I sound system in my old GS300 is great... seems a big shame to waste it :) Anyway, maybe someone has some advice? All the best n thanks for reading this thread, Chris.
  9. Hi, I've inherited a 1995 GS300 Auto... great condition etc..... but there are no owners manuals. Does anyone know where I can find them online? Maybe someone has scanned theirs and can supply a copy?
  10. Perfect! Thanks very much. :) Now all I need is to find an owners manual... :)
