  1. Have a read ...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VVT-i
  2. She looks gorgeous fella and a GT to boot, very nice indeed, its terrible when the MOD bug gets hold of you, well done you .... ;)
  3. Thanks bud, Fuel the wife can get 31mpg using it for work Iv only managed the low 20's but I like to drive it how it should be driven. I have driven both 200/300 the 300 is much more refined and has the low down grunt that the 200 lacks, the only issus with the 300 is that its an Auto (a very good Auto) but a man would be better. It has the tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel which makes it more fun. Fantastic cars bud the 300 is a bit harder to find but worth the wait its taken me 3 years to bite the bullet and get an IS but well worth the wait. Lee Lee Cheers for info, i want an auto, i'm getting bored going through the 6 gears i have on my current car even though it is fun to drive, time for a bit of lazy driving, so i am looking at either an IS or RS but would prefer the 5sp Auto, which is either an RS200 or IS300. Was considering one last year, then changed my mind, now back on one and hink i have set my heart on one, as standard as poss though. Anyhow, gone way off your original topic, so soz for that but thanks again. Back on Tax, i hate paying this simply because the government do not put it back into our road network, which is in dire need of it, Green can go .... ..
  4. Well done fella, good info.... welcome even though im new myself here and don't quite have my Lexus yet ....... Out of curiosity, how is the 300, fuel, power ...etc ... Cheers
  5. Did they fit? Pics? Interesting to say the least ...... ;)
  6. Anyone with an IS300? Whats the road tax like and Miles per tank Vs cost to fill? Cheers ..... ;)
  7. What speed are Altezzas limited to? Is it easy to remove the limiter? Cheers ..... ;)
  8. Looks very nice fella, you will be glad you got 17s instead of 18s when you lower it, i run 18s on my Rolla which is lowered 30mm on Eibachs, it can be harsh on these bad roads, love it when going through smooth twisty stuff though. One reason im looking at something a bit more comfy, i could just put the OEM springs back on but then the car just looks all wrong ......
  9. Cheers Deckie.... PM sent Yeldarb ...
  10. p.s Opinions on the IS300? Is this Auto only and 5sp like the RS200?
  11. Not exactly an average 200 though is it? :winky: But i know what you people are talking about, i don't have a Lex yet, but my CTS is a "Sleeper" car and surprises people all the time. Oh roll on the Lexus/Altezza .......
  12. Ormi Cheers again fella, i never knew the Altezza ran the mk2 MR2 engine, always good to learn something new. No im sure i won't regret it, they do look very very nice indeed. Yeldarb Yes i have seen your RS200 for sale, you are a couple of months too early, i must sell my Rolla first, the missus will go mental if i was to buy another car without selling the Rolla first with a move into a new house pending, it looks just the ticket and i am gutted TBH. I really want an auto, fancy the lazy life for a while, but if i get an IS, i think it will be manual, 4sp auto just seems so 20yrs ago, but never say never. Unless of course you fancy a CTS and some ££££ your way? lol Thank you both, need to go drive them both i think .... :winky:
  13. Hello ormi and thanks for the reply..... Looking at the 2, the IS does look more luxurious inside for sure, but as an IS owner, have you ever thought "I wish i had got the RS"? Are both belt as oppose to chain (a good point about my CTS, chain)also are both equal on the modding side of things, obviously the shell is the same, so the engines really? Yes i have no doubt i will get tempted to the darkside of modding eventually, but will enjoy a softer ride for a while on these awful London roads. Cheers again fella...... ;)
  14. Hello and good evening fine people.... As you would have gathered, new to your forums. Now for your valued opinions please, i currently have a Corolla T-Sport, member of your sister site TOC, but fancy a change of car after 3 n half fun years of the Rolla i want a bit more comfort. So the search began, at first i was looking at, dare i say it, BMWs, in particular the 5 series, look nice and offer comfort with a bit of ooomph, joined a BM forum to look at common problems and was horrified that the forums read as a list of non stop issues, i do not want loads of trouble after such reliability with my Rolla, so decided to look at Lexus and really like the look of an IS200 but, would like an Auto and the IS only has a 4sp whereas the RS has a 5sp and more BHP. So, what does an IS have to offer that an RS does not and what are the common problems to look for on both? Looking to spend 4k ish but will go a bit higher for the right one, once i have sold my Rolla, well advertised it first. Looking for a pretty standard one to boot, no intentions to modify straight away, but who knows down the line, i never intended doing anything to the Rolla but did. Anyhow, thanks in advance for your opinions..... :D
