  1. Interesting little project. I like the idea with the LEDs.
  2. Funny isn't it, how such simple things can sometimes leave you completely baffled! lol At least you've sorted it out now.
  3. hmmm that's wierd. Mine is X reg too so should be the same. When I took the original lights out I was left with no wires coming out of the light at all (I mean that I did not take any wires out of the car, just the light assembly). Unless you disconnected these wires further down the loom If I have time tonight I'll take a look at the back of my lights.
  4. Car looks good. I bet it's a bit awkward if you need to take the air filter out with that strut brace over the airbox?
  5. ^^ I have heard about warning lights coming on with certain aftermarket units but didn't have this problem with these lights :winky:
  6. No the indicators are normal bulbs. But I guess you could change them to LED bulbs
  7. There you go http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Racerbits/LEXUS-/_i.html?_fsub=4585108&_sid=66351080&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
  8. This is for any people interested in replacing the rear lights on their IS200. I always found the the standard lights on the IS200 a bit outdated by these days standards. I think they look OK on darker coloured cars but not on the silver that I have. So I had them replaced with these LED lights I got off eBay. Here are the standard lights Removing these is easy. Undo the bolts behind the little covers and carefully pull out the light and remove any bulbs and disconnect cables Reverse the process. Plug in the bulbs and cables (I would recommend changing to the chrome indicator bulbs as they look better). Replace light unit and put bolts back in And here it is finished I ordered these from the States. Delivery was very quick. The fit is excellent and the build quality is top notch too, just as good as the original units. They look a bit more modern too IMO.
  9. I tend to get about 27mpg lately driving to work during the week. Pretty much town driving. Out of £30 of fuel I regularly get 130 miles. My car also has a Powertec induction kit fitted and it did not seem to have any adverse effect on the economy
  10. I got this one from the states http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-IS200-IS300-Ferrari-Style-T6061-Shift-Knobs-/270347969469?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ef1fea3bd#ht_783wt_825 Really nice and heavy but the very shiny polished finish has disappeared. No doubt it can be brought up with some metal polish.
  11. True. The harder you drive it the more wear and tear it will have. I don't think you would damage the transmission unless you are revving it so high that it bounces off the limiter. Check when the clutch was last replaced and the gearbox/diff oil. If it was a long time ago then it could be a concern if you like to drive the car hard.
  12. I already had a look on fleabay and new radiators seem to be reasonable cost. I think I'll get under the car this weekend and take a proper look at it. I hope the drain plug is just loose otherwise I'll just buy a new rad. On a different note - is the water pump easy to replace? I've just ordered a new one.
  13. I had a quick look at the radiator earlier and there seems to be a wet spot at the bottom of it, where the undertray sits. This is on the passenger side of the radiator. Is that where the drain plug is located?
  14. Hello, I seem to be loosing coolant at an alarming rate in my IS200. I filled up the expansion tank to above half way mark on sunday morning on the way to TRAX and I checked it this morning and the level is showing empty :o I cannot see any evidence of the coolant leaking anywhere: the engine bay is all dry and there is never any wet marks under the car. There is however some dry yellow-ish residue next to the water pump so I wonder if it is somehow evaporating through it. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else I should check around the engine for any obvious signs?
