  1. Hi, recently experienced the car under braking pulling to the left. I finally managed to have a look at the slide pins and they were fairly stiff n/s and lubed up nice with some lithium grease. However, on the o/s the lower slide pin was stuck fast, after letting it sit for while in lithium liquid I managed to free it, cleaned it up thoroughly and placed back and it was sliding very freely. The outside brake pad on the o/s side was tapered quite considerably but I had to put it back in until my new pads arrive. The problem is still there so the question is will the tapered pad still give the brake pull (silly question maybe) and replacing should solve the issue or do I need to investigate the issue further? If you could offer some information on this it would be appreciated.
  2. Thanks, the meter is on order so will check the resistance from the cables and if they are ok will presume the sensor is broken internally. Thanks for your help.
  3. Hi Steve Appreciate you coming back to me, I have actually found a whole load of posts on the subject, so I should of researched a little better before posting. In answer to your question I sure did, I placed a screwdriver underneath the plastic arm where it bolts onto the hub and gave it a little tap with a hammer just to loosen. I will purchase a multimeter and check the reading to see if it still have any life left in it. If not I will remove the sensor and see if there are any wires that have been damaged. Can you advise the best way to do this please?
  4. Hi, hoping someone can help. I replaced by lower ball joints yesterday and I now have the ABS and traction control lights flashing. It didnt happen straight away though at first I got a vibration through the brake pedal and a noise from the os front brake. This then went away and was replaced by the lights. I followed the guide on this site for the replacement so I did remove the ABS sensor. Anyone got any ideas how I can sort this issue please?
  5. Hi Guys I am new to the site and was hoping that you may be able to assist. I have recently started to hear a rattle, almost like pea/stone rattling around in the engine bay when the car is at 15-1700rpm. It stops once the car gets going, but as you can imagine I am starting to get a little worried about it. The noise is only intermittent and I may go a few days without hearing anything at all, I have recently had all belts minus cam changed and was wandering if this could have anything to do with it. Any help at all would be appreciated. UPDATE... It was the water pump, opened it up this morning and fluid was pi££ing out of it.
