  1. IT is very intermittent and has no rational as to when it decides to do the clatter but after a few seconds its fine, and overall the car is running with no issues to point to anything further
  2. car has 133k on clock and had the timing belt and waterpump changed along with inverter recall. Bought up a couple of issues when doing the general check like a blowing exhaust (replaced with custom made stainless steel from Tony Banks in Leeds) height sensor failure ( replaced linkage with one made by SGS engineering in Leeds) and ARB bushes can wait till MOT. The car was running ok but down on fuel consumption quite dramatically and now has developed an intermittent clattering on start up sometimes up to 1 in 5 starts. Anyone any suggestions already replace spark plugs also?? Main stealer said it was exhaust blow causing it and charged me £54 for 10 minute look wash and vac and nice coffee!! and it definitely is not that.
  3. its sgs engineering in Derby who can fabricate the linkage for £55 if its broken there otherwise it is a whole new assembly
  4. been in for the recall (which needs doing) and asked them to check levels but they found the height sensor is working slow and needs replacing. This will cost £380!!! anyone replaced this themselves ??
  5. Just been out in car and I think the level of the headlights are set too high. Is this an easy fix or is it a main stealer job?
  6. Dont know if anyone has issues with the oncoming traffic and people in front thinking you have the brightest lights in the world on. Its a 2006 RX400h with afs and auto levelling
  7. called Lexus Bradford as ours was subject to recall according to the main site. And they advised to wait for the letter from VOSA and Lexus then call as the part has not been sent out as yet. So advice is wait for the letter and hope nothing happens
  8. Well having first hand experience of this stuff dont do it. Its a short term fix for a long term problem. The chemical stuff can block waterways and slow down you water pump creating bigger issues. Being an ex MGF owner alot of people use this as a fix for head gasket failure but long term cost outweighs it.
  9. Mot at 106000 miles on an rx400h passed with flying colours but my mechanic noticed the wiring loom at the rear near the diff not in a good state. Has anyone else had this and what is it and whats the cost do have a picture but unable to load it
  10. I was going to put the floor 12v on all the time but after discussing with mechanic he advised against so will just add to battery as and when i need to
  11. Hi All again thanks for the advice well picked it up today and so far love it. I have ordered a solar trickle charger after reading the advice on here and will no doubt see how the mpg will go. But so far very happy got a price of £300 for cambelt which i will get done very soon as its at 99000
