  1. Hello, First off I don't really post much on here, but this site has helped me out a lot in the past when it comes to little niggles with the car. Unfortunately this is one where I can't really find an answer... and it's about the steering wheel squeak, creak, rubbing noise. Now I have taken a small video so that you can hear it. Apologies for the camera moving around as I tried to show where abouts the noise is coming from. https://www.dropbox.com/s/as30zo7e8yj35lr/IMG_1600.m4v?dl=0 I am pretty sure the noise is from the drivers side. At a guess I am assuming because the steering column is obviously on the right. It's an IS200 that has done 155,000 miles if that helps. I did read that I should spray WD40 where the steering column comes through the footwell. This sort of worked, but to be honest as there was no pics, I sprayed half a can where ever I saw something that looked like a join that could squeak. Does anyone know what it is and how I can fix it? Thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks Tony, I'll give it a go. I did email Lexus to ask for some suggestions... they never bothered to get back to me so mastic it is lol
  3. Hi everyone, I have had a look around for the answer of this and I couldn't find what I was looking for, so apologies if it has been mentioned before on another thread. Basically that long thin strip of plastic that runs from the front to the back of the roof, there's one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side, I think it's for when you want to fit a roof rack... Well mine came off and is currently being flattened by trucks somewhere on the A14. I ordered the replacement which arrived. The problem is fitting the thing. I assumed there were clips where you would push/click it into place. But there is nothing. The new plastic trim hasn't come with any and there is nothing on the roof of the car that would suggest that is the case. Would someone be able to tell me how to fit the replacement please? And if clips of some kind are needed, the part number or a link to where I can purchase some please? Although I have this embarrassing, gut feeling that maybe I really need to give it some force to push the whole thing along and no clips needed lol It's for a Lexus IS200, year 2000. Thanks for any help/advice/photos that you can give.
