  1. To be fair to Kwik Fit, they did indeed pay for the new TPMS valve and refurbishment of the alloy wheels, perversely the cost of putting it all right was almost identical to the cost of the tyres. Very very pleased with transformation of the CC tyres, a real gamechanger.
  2. Thanks Len, yes, I've used them on and off over the years, local, and first time I've had a problem. Think I'll stick with dealers for the Lexus in future, I know they're not cheap but the service @ Glasgow is always a pleasure. It was a 20% discount on the cross climates that drew me in. They tyres are revolutionary in the change, really improves ride and the noise is so much quieter.
  3. Quick update, Glasgow Lexus fitted a new TPMS for £173, and KF are also paying for the wheels being refurbed, £408, trade price apparently, as i went to their recommended outfit, who actually have a very good rep.Just about to pick the car up this evening. KF refunded me the valve money in cash, I do hope they sort out the wheels just as promptly. They didn't argue when they saw the damage!
  4. Just had michelin Cross Climates fitted, can't believe the difference they have made to comfort and no more tyre roar. Michelin currently doing a promotion if the timing is right for you?
  5. Finally got round to fitting Michelin Cross Climates to my NX300, whilst the transformation of the noise is fabulous and road manners much more comfortable the Kwik Fit experience was bloody awful. First they phoned to tell me the TPMS sensor had broken, I was forced to go to my local dealer to get a new one fitted and reprogrammed. Cost £180.00. Lexus cleaned car and drew my attention to state of wheels, all four wheels were scored by their tyre fitting device! Went to KF with invoice to find no manager on site. Left invoice with them and will call tomorrow. How they will resolve thme wheel damage, they are diamond cut, Premier model, and i suspect this will end up going to Head office. Anyone have any advice before i see them tomorrow? I'll never darken their doors again, just happy to pay main dealer, they say they will price match. Lexus Glasgow brilliant to deal with if anyone needs a recommendation Ed
  6. There is an absolutely stunning new RX in Lexus Glasgow, has been in their showroom for three months, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Dark metallic blue, looks superb.
  7. There was also said to be a class issue, the upper or more wealthy classes drank from fine bone china, hence it was socially more upper class to add milk first, the working classes with enamel and heavy pottery didn't need to worry about hot tea cracking their vessel.
  8. But you still can't go dark. As a sea trout fisherman i do a bit of night fishing and that's a damn nuisance when i drive down to the riverside!
  9. Aah, I'm not alone then. Sadly my 2017 model doesn't offer ACP. Better just keep to the limits for safety😉
  10. Is it possible to adjust the volume of the speed camera alert, the speaker is in the rear hatch area and it's not always easily heard over the radio. I've been through the menu and nothing in the handbook. A dealer job?? It's a 2017 NX Premier. Thanks for any help Ed
  11. I dont rate the lexus boot mat at all. Poorly made and flimsy. Relatively light weight plastic I bought a far superior product on ebay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TM-TAILORED-RUBBER-BOOT-LINER-MAT-TRAY-for-LEXUS-NX-since-2014/143514851405 Heavy duty rubber and a perfect fit. The Lexus rubber mats are excellent however.
  12. I'd be v keen to see how it works out, I'm keen to update also. Thanks for sharing the info. Ed
  13. Happy Christmas and a much better 2021 to all on the LOC. I've just changed my 2010 RX for a 2017 NX300. Delighted but takes a while to work out all the new toys and tech!

  14. 5 doors, i drove one up in Orkney, stunning car and blisteringly quick. 7 year warranty, they have confidence in their product. I guess autotrader will give you prices. Just a left field option.
  15. I'm in Glasgow so there are a few hills around but i average 31/32 mpg. Eco mode is pointless, makes barely any difference to consumption, and as Herbie says, it's annoying. On relatively flat A roads circa 60mph you can easily get late 30s. Fantastic reliabilty and easy to drive, my wife loves it.
  16. Mark, nothing needs refrigerated up here....... Just joking, I hope you haver a great time, it's a beautiful country, I'm in Glasgow but in a fortnight heading up to Sutherland for a week's fishing. Ed
  17. I think that was only fitted to the facelift 2012 onwards. I agree, i would find that extremely useful.
  18. I bought a Pure Highway 400 and it's excellent. Easy to install and cables easily hidden . Neat install. £60 or therabouts.
  19. One simple eradication is to fold down the middle 20% of the rear seat, that rear seat mechanism is clearly poorly designed. Just lower it and see if the majority of the noise goes away? Ed
  20. My car states towing package also but alas, no tow package existed. Have now fitted one, at not inconsiderable expense, all for a bike carrier. Car is too tall to manhandle e bikes from the roof.
  21. We had a CT and the same issue, was an exhaust heat shield in our case. Wouldn't be surprised if that's your issue.
  22. Really succinct and excellent summary by Herbie. Well done.
