  1. Thank you for your responses. A new radiator was fitted by a Lexus dealership in September prior to my purchase. Could mixing of the fluids have taken place when the new radiator was fitted ?
  2. I am experiencing a "judder" which vibrates through the car on certain upward gear change(s), usually between 28-38 mph. This is more noticeable when the engine is warm. My Lexus dealer also confirmed a transmission problem however, they are unable to "repair" the gearbox as it is a sealed unit with no repair guidance. A new replacement would exceed the value of the car. Any help would be much appreciated. Gabysgrandad.
  3. Had mine done today on a (55) LS430. Look excellent, cost £300. Based North Derbyshire.
  4. Thanks for your help, booked in for safety check with emphasis on braking problem. Interestingly, Lexus quote for disc/pad replacement only £20/£30 more expensive than "specialist" tyre quotes !
  5. I would agree with the above. I had it on my LS, no problem braking below 40mph but the higher the speed the worse the wobble. It also got worse the longer I left it, to the point that it felt unusable. New front discs and pads, wobble gone. An easy job as well. Was your local tyre dealer Kwik Fit by any chance!!! Thank you. No, it wasn't Kwik Fit but I do think these tyre "specialist" repair places are best for tyres and brake pads only. I am guessing you fitted these yourself, any advice on where to buy? Front discs/pads are on offer on Ebay for mid £60 !
  6. Thanks Andy. The limited service history doesn't include disc replacement however, they don't look worn (there is hardly a "lip" on the edge), possibly why they think the discs aren't warped !
  7. Despite having my balancing and brakes checked on my 1999 GS 300, my local Tyre and Brakes specialist has been unable to identify why I get a wobble through my steering wheel which is VERY noticeable when braking from speed. They suggested it could be an ABS problem but nothing on the dash is indicating a malfunction. Would a Lexus dealer be able to test for this without me having to take out a re-mortgage ? Any help would be much appreciated.
  8. Thanks for the link. I've just typed in my ref. numbers on my current(Lexus original) disc but they are not recognised. The sat nav head unit is featured in the "select unit" options.
  9. I have a 1999 GS300 SE with the original sat nav disc installed. Could you please advise how the numbers on the disc relate to ascertain compatibility in order to acquire an updated disc ? The reference numbers are:V.2.1 08664-50820,86271-15V250.
  10. I wish to buy an updated disc for the sat nav system in my 1999 GS300. (I have the original disc)How can I establish compatibilty with items on offer? The references on my disc are: Ver.2.1 08664-50820 86271-15V250

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

  11. Thanks Steve & "RAC" Joe ! All sorted, fortunately was able to gain access with the key and the investment of high duty leads. This is where owners clubs come into their own, helpful, friendly advice with no fear of being ripped off. I hope I can reciprocate in the future. Gabysgrandad.
  12. Hi Steve Thank you for your prompt and informative reply. I'll tackle the boot light "jump" facility in day light tomorrow and will advise of the outcome. Thanks again, Gabysgrandad.
  13. Hi Lexus Club Members Following a week or more of virtually impossible driving conditions (I live in the High Peak area of Derbyshire)My LS 430 has decided to lock me out! A few days ago I opened the boot (with the remote) to access some shopping bags. I have just tried to enter the car and all the doors are locked. The security lights on the dash are not functioning (the light on the remote is working) however, the boot does not secure itself!(presumably since I last opened it). Is the fact that the boot does not lock that this is causing the locking mechanism to malfunction? Any help would be much appreciated. Gabysgrandad. PS. My handbook is in the glovebox!
