  1. I'm sorry for your loss. I would guess somewhere around the 5.5-6.5K range, if it's an automatic with decent service history.
  2. It will probably be underneath the dashboard, near the pedals. That's where it is on an IS250. You might have to remove some lower trim panel to access it.
  3. I did this on my previous 2nd-Gen IS250 F-Sport, which had the same front wheel & tyre specs as a 3rd-Gen. Zero issues with rubbing whatsoever. The arch gap was really massive on that car for whatever reason, and I wanted to change the front tyres anyway as they were a different brand to the rears, so went with 235s to try and eliminate some of the unsightly gap. Pros & Cons; + Was visually more appealing. + The wider tyres didn't skip or crab when steering sharply in the cold. - 235s were about 10% more expensive. PS. This car was written-off with those "wrong" 235/40R18 tyres on it. Insurance never said a word and paid out in full.
  4. Re: Screenwash. I use this stuff from Halfords during winter. Other tips: keep a warm jacket in the boot, preferably a hi-vis one. Some bottled water too - either for drinking if stuck somewhere, or using in radiator, clearing windscreen etc.
  5. Single wheels of this type do appear on eBay from time to time. But, its entirely possible you don't actually need a new wheel. A good wheel refurbishment specialist can also repair stuff like dents and cracks.
  6. Possibly about £3-4K, maybe more if really nice condition. Is it a manual or an automatic?
  7. That tyre is toast. No garage would attempt to repair that. The sidewall is covered in cracks.
  8. Traditionally, mostly Bridgestone or Dunlop and I think that's still the case. Michelin are also widely used nowadays.
  9. Thanks for the responses people. I was granted another 7 days to settle at the reduced £60, and I've paid it. My heart was telling me I should fight them and pay nothing, but I'd rather just take my lumps and get it over with since the reason why I parked in that ****hole in the first place, was not exactly a happy one (a funeral). For reference, should any of you find yourself in Falkirk...avoid the Callendar Square car park at all costs. 🤬
  10. So, I just got a parking charge for the amount of £100 in the post today from "Car Parking Partnership" (googling this revealed that this is Parkingeye, or a sister company). Conveniently, the letter has arrived 15 days after the charge was issued, so even if I wanted to settle early for the "discounted" £60, I can't. Anyway, my main question is; I can just ignore this, right? For context, this was for parking in a multistorey, that to my eyes, appeared to be derelict or abandoned. There were no automated barriers and ticket machines - you could just drive right on in. The place was also pitch black with no lighting, and very few other cars were inside. The lift was chained shut, the stairwells were disgusting - littered with rubbish and stinking of urine, reinforcing my view that the car park was now abandoned. Frankly, given the state of the place I couldn't imagine someone would have the brass neck to charge money to use it, but apparently they do! Signage on how and when to pay was pretty confusing and vague, and the one machine I spotted appeared to be powered off/not working. After doing a little digging online, it seems I am not alone in falling for this "trap" of thinking the car park was now free to use. My intention is to just completely ignore this, and any subsequent notices I might recieve. The photographic evidence doesn't identify who is behind the wheel. Am I right in thinking that as long as I don't admit to being the driver at the time, they have no case against me personally? They only have who the registered keeper is? And would appealing this charge be an admission of guilt that I was the driver? Your thoughts and advice please. 🙂
  11. Yes. Mercury Grey. Plus, with red interior and the 8.5/9.5" 2012+ wheels. Would be something of a Unicorn on UK roads.
  12. But MPG will be better with 0w20 so it kinda evens itself out.
  13. That's a sizeable bolt. Probably unrepairable. Cheaper than a new wheel bearing though.
  14. They do. I have them (CrossClimate 2). Though on the rear you need to go with 245/40R18 instead of 255 as they're unavailable in that size. I used to run full winter tyres (Pirelli Sottozero 3), and was happy with them but when the time came to replace them, I figured they were overkill for the amount of snow that falls where I live, so went with the Michelins which are "only" all-seasons. In my experience though they are just as good in snowy conditions as a full winter tyre. With the added bonus that they are equally comfortable in warm weather, so you can leave them on all year-round.
  15. Exactly why I let the garage deal with it. Aluminium component mated to a steel surface for over a decade...not a good marriage.
  16. What did I do to my Lexus today? Dusted off the bootlid and retrieved the nicely-chilled beers that were inside.
  17. LS 2007-2017 Floor Mats They also have the rears, plus ones for RSR model.
  18. I've had to replace both of my front wheel bearings fairly recently. Left one in 2021, and the other side this year. The cost was £300+ each time, supplied and fitted. As Robert says, the sound associated with a bad bearing is more of a droning or grinding sound, that would be louder or more intense when the affected side of the car is under load.
  19. Thanks for the update. 👍 I'm going to request request the same during my next service in February/March next year.
  20. I know it doesn't answer your question, but what about using the buttons on the head unit itself? Under the volume button.
  21. Probably just a visual check and guesstimate. Lexus dealer once stated my tyres were also 6.5mm when they were only 2 weeks old.
  22. One of the German cars with a 3.0 diesel engine would be my pick - A4 Quattro or BMW 335d. My personal choice would be an Avant/Touring model.
