  1. Forgot to say, in terms of price I will just price the car, based on the whatever the going-rate is on auto trader.
  2. Hi all, not sure if it is against the forum rule to post a for sale thread? I am planning to sell my 2014 RX450H premier in the next one or two months, once my new car (a Model Y) gets delivered. Before putting it up on autotrader / WBA / MOTORWAY etc, thought I would post here first to see if there are any forum members who might be interested. Some further info: Premier trim with the optional Adaptive Cruise Control, air suspension, black colour, brown semi-aniline leather, fantastic condition, 46k mileage, two owners (including myself), full Lexus history. Additional: Lexus installed towbar with electrics. Rear seat entertainment (integrated into the headrest, fairly old school one that uses DVD, but enough to keep kids happy) Running on cross climate all season tyre. Rubber floor mat and boot mat Front and Rear underrun protection Roof rails Bootsill stainless steel protection
  3. Thanks for the response Jonathan. Driving a fully loaded 3rd Rx currently. It has been 5 years so fancy an upgrade. The latest RX comes with android auto which is a big attraction. Also I heard the ride quality is much improved. For the cayenne I am considering the base model, with 340HP it is plenty powerful enough. Looking at used prices it appears a similarly speced Cayenne (my requirement is quite simple: adaptive cruise control, sunroof, a good seat, good audio are the must haves) at below 3 years old will be about 20 to 25k more than a rx450h f sport. Partly because adaptive cruise control is a rare option on the cayenne, if one has this option it tends to also come with lots of other options too, whereas on RX the adaptive cruise control is standard. Once the car reach 6 years old and above the price difference starts to narrow. Annoyingly many basic features on the cayenne are options, for a 60k car to not have auto dimming mirror it is ridiculous. I always buy extended warranty on my car, even on my current 3rd gen rx. The Porsche will be about 1k per year. Need to test drive and compare to make up my mind. The lexus will not doubt be more reliable and have great dealers in general, while the Porsche be more fun to drive. Any other factors that I have missed?
  4. Hi, although this post is a few months old, I would like to know why you didn't choose the Cayenne in the end? I am in a similar position so would be great to know your point of view. Thanks.
  5. Thanks, it's interesting to know the space inside is about the same, as the cayenne seems quite a bit wider from outside. Wouldn't it make more sense to just give the cayenne to your wife :) Looks like I need to pop in a Porsche dealer for a test drive.
  6. How is the cayenne compared to Rx? Probably quite a bit bigger inside ?
  7. Thanks rayaans, Will ask Stockport to send me some pictures. What do you think of this one Link. (Price, state, etc?)It is older but quite a bit cheaper. So I can keep it for a while and then change to the latest RX after a while.
  8. From the picture it looks OK. But when seeing in person I can see the scratches on the leather.
  9. So I went to see an rx450h premier with cream interior this weekend. It is 13reg with 34k mileage, which seems a bit high to me. Are there any big maintenance item as the car approach 50k miles? What's consider high mileage when things start to "get loose" for a RX? Also I was a bit surprised by the amount of crease and light scratches on the leather, especially the driver side which is probably due to getting on and off the car, but it seems the leather isn't very durable. Overall still quite like the car, so still considering whether should put on an offer.
  10. rayaans, most likely, still need to find the time to do a proper test drive.
  11. I am getting 18mpg from my bmw 3 series.. looking forword to getting a RX
  12. Hi Rozzalex, thanks for the reply, can you please give more details on areas that the RX leg behind the others? Which are you comparing it with? Note I am not just looking at Q7, very open to other options.
  13. I don't quite understand why a Japanese badge gets degraded?
  14. I've been shopping for my next car recently so have been reading reviews on RX450H (latest gen and 3rd gen). And have noticed mostly RX will be ranked below rivals such as Q7, X5 etc in comparison reviews. Take the latest Q7 for example, a recent comparison comparison review on WhatCar has comments like: The controls and build quality of the Q7 is much more solid than RX, which based on my brief visit to the audi showroom (I didn't have time to test drive the Q7) doesn't seem to be the case, as the Q7 I saw seems quite plasticy inside, the whole dashboard is just black plastic, compared to lexus's leather. The Audi's buttons' and switches are quite nice but I didn't find them any superior to the rx. Then the review also says the Q7 is much quieter than RX at motorway speed, which again I haven't had the chance to test drive on motorway, but given the rx has double-glazed glass I found that surprising. Am I missing something here? Are there any members here who have actually owned a Q7 and RX and can give your comments? Or maybe I should take a Q7 for a extended test drive to draw a conclusion myself.
