  1. I know others have had this problem with GS300's. I have found out what it is. Took me about 6 weeks to find this after trying all sorts. Take off the panal below the glove box, it pulls down from the front, metal clips hold it up. It is the clips that are rattling. Prise each of the clips apart i.e. make them wider so that they are still under pressure when clipped back in. Then with some long nosed pliers press the middle of each clip in to grip the plastic panal. Clip the panal back on -- RATTLE SORTED mine was anyway.
  2. Thank you Tigerfish, an explanation that makes sense. There are obviousy a lot of owners out there who don't know why it is needed. It would, as Purvesh humourously stated, make it easier to steal, not actually so funny. Lexus should consider making the SHIFT LOCK key operaed as the boot lid can be. Just a thought to improve security. Lexus, if you do it then i want paying for the idea!!!
  3. Does anyone have a towbar on their GS300 / 430 that they would like to sell. Cheers Ian
  4. I'm sorry but i cannot see when you would use such a feature or why it is needed. If you have entered the car then you have the key, and if you have the key then you don't need a SHIFT LOCK button, simply use the key as normal. There must be another reason for having this button otherwise it is a pointless feature but Lexus do not normally provide pointless features. Any other explanations !!!! Ian
  5. Cheers for that. Strange feature as you would have to have the keys to enter the car, or am i missing something. Ian
  6. Hi guys Have recently purchased a 2002 GS300. There is a SHIFT LOCK button forward of, and to the right of the gear stick. I can find no reference to it in the manual and this is my first automatic car. You all probably know the answer to this and it will be so obvious when the replies come in so i apologise for my ignorance in advance. Also after a towbar (secondhand)for this vehicle if anyone can help with this as well. Cheers Ian
  7. Hi to all members. Do you all think this website is as unfriendly to use as i do. I'm new and having difficulty navigating round the sight to find what i want. Or is it just me??

  8. Is that john of 6 rose terrace

  9. It appears that there is no longer a company producing an EC certificated towbar. Therefor the only way is to buy a secondhand one. Anyone out there with one on their vehicle which they do not use?? Please contact me directly on tfmservices@talktalk.net -- Thank you all.
