  1. Sorted. It was the Tyre pressure monitor light although l have owned the car for eight years I didn't know it was fitted on the car. Have obviously kept good tyre pressures for eight years. Checked pressures and one wheel was down from 32 to 29. I spoke to a Lexus service centre about it and they thought that the spell of cold weather was probably the cause and apparently they have come across drivers mistaking this with the brake warning light. They are very alike and next to each other. If I had done a better search of the manual its all in there.
  2. After trying the hill start assist system to se if it worked, which id did, I am now left with the yellow brake system warning light being permamently on. According to the hand book this indicates a malfunction in the regenerative braking system or thee electronically controlled brake system. Given that this happened after using the hill start assist I assume that that this has cause the malfunction. Ihave tried using the hill start system again ahile the car is on a flat drive but it does not activate. Any ideas as to what the cause might be would be appreciated.
  3. Should read ELM 327 OBD SCANNER. They cost about a tenner.
  4. I have the Carista app downloaded from google play (free when I downloaded it, don't know about now) and an ELM 32T obd scanner ( not expensive as I remember) connected to the car's obd port. With these in place all sorts of changes can be made including the annoying reversing bleep.
  5. I will also keep an eye on this. I am 100% certain that the displayed temp does not change but now not sure about recirculating/fresh air setting.
  6. Not normal I would say. Once set it should not change by itself and ai so picked up from your previous comment the car does not decide whether it uses recirculating or outside air.
  7. Don't see why the temperature would move up and down when the climate control is set to auto. Surely you set the temperature that you require and that is controled by the fan speed, why would the car change the set temperature or am I missing something.
  8. Thank you for your replies Colin but I'm still very cofused. For instance page 446 of the owners manual when mentioning Dual mode it mentions seats (could be something lost in translation). How does 1 sensor control 2 different temperatures? After a run of 17 miles with the temperature set at 23 the cabin temperature only reaching 18 degrees with very little air which was only cool coming out of the vents. To get a decent temperature at the air vents I have to manually increase fan speed. I will persevere with experimenting with the system when next time I do a reasonable run. My partner has been travelling with me more these days and it was she that noticed this and asked questions which made me think about how the system worked.
  9. After 7 years of owning my CT I now feel confused as to the workings of the dual system of passenger and driver heating side of the cabin. After reading the manual it seems to say that the dual function adjusts the temperature of the seats and by experimenting, the air temperature at the air outlets. I have placed a thermometer in the cabin and it does not come anywhere near what the temperature on the a/c is set at. Would be grateful if anyone can explain how the system works.
  10. There should be a shaped piece of hard felt sitting at the bottom of the hand hold/door puller which would hide the screw head. Mine is not stuck down so it's probably gone missing with cleaning etc.
  11. I carry a small buture jump start pack in the glove box. No worries aout leaving the car for weeks and I also use it for powering my tyre inflator and charging up phones etc.
  12. Had this on partner's VW Polo. Removed wheel and took it to body shop where they took the tyre off cleaned alloy and replaced tyre. Asked about refurbish wheel but they reckoned it would be cheaper to buy new wheels.
  13. Everyone to their own oplinion but why not take the car back to Lexus insread of coming on here for advice.
  14. Get yourself a Carista app for your phone or tablet and a compatable OBD device and you will be able to customise many features as per pages 652 to 660 in the owner's manual. Page 659 mentions the reverse buzzer customisation from intermittent to single sound.
