  1. sorry to be a bit dim here - can someone point me to a thread (or ebay listing) about fixing keys my 3 button key is now crumbing and could really do with replacement so do I simply buy a blank on ebay, get it cut at the local key place and pop in my transponder?
  2. Some drunk trashed the roof of my IS200, fixed some of the damage but not sure how to sort the aerial The whole unit is smashed, have taped over it to keep water out of the roof lining (this might not have been needed but not wanting to take any chances) So - how does it come off? and how to fix it ? thanks folks
  3. thanks Ormi been stood a couple of days so timed the oil light this morning, it was 2.2 seconds. Car is a slightly hesitant starter though (new plugs due this week). No strange noises at all, it just purrs into life. Hoping this is a cheap oil filter (non return value) or something unimportant
  4. I have just noticed on a cold start the oil light on my IS200 takes maybe a full second to go out, that can be overnight cold or left a couple of hours. At a fuel fill up or short stop it goes out immediately on restart Now my previous cars have tended to do something similar (my old Nissan 4x4 was just the same but 3-4 seconds easy, and was like that for all the years I had it). However, I am wondering if it is something to be concerned about on a 70k miles Lexus engine ? Is it maybe a dodgy oil pump, typical of thin synthetic oil, just how they are ?
  5. Just picked up a clean IS200, looking for a decent independent in Sheffield area to do a cambelt swop for me Charlesworth in Glossop get rated on the forum here but their website seems to be down so I am wondering if they are still there or if there is any other decent dealer in Sheffield/Derbyshire area?
  6. Just picked up a old IS200. MOTs show a believable 70k miles and seems in pretty good nick but missing the 60k stamp in the service book - so got it for a sensible price (I hope) It is ever so slightly hesitant to start but runs perfectly, I am guessing a new set of plugs might help - got a set on the way from MisterSolutions (way cheaper than local prices) but not sure how to swop the plugs in terms of tools needed and torque settings I used to do a lot of work on big GSXR/GPZ bike engines in my youth, so got a variety of socket sets, plug sockets and torque wrench etc but not much in the way of socket extensions if access is an issue. Never had to work on a car as I have usually had the money to pay someone else but right now business is bad so needs must. Any top tips most welcome
