  1. Locking wheel nuts fitted to my is250, new tyres fitted last year, fitter must have used air gun and when i tried to remove wheels i striped key. purchased new lexus key and that also striped, managed to remove two. Garage charged £100 to remove other two. What would have happened if I had puncture on road side? Standard nuts fitted all round.
  2. Buy a good battery tester. I had the no start problem if I had the radio and internal lights on for over 30 mins engine not running. Battery tester said "replace battery 0nly 60%", it also checked alternator, Battery was only 3 year old ( see previous contributor)
  3. I have a is250 2006 year I would like to fit front sensors. Currently only have reverse camera. any one know if the wiring loom in the front bumper will have plugs to connect sensors? Thanks Mike
  4. No not anything to do with lock switch as far as i know. This week i unlocked car with key in jacket pocket, then decided i needed another jacket so went inside hours leaving key in house, returned to car and tried to start. peddle locked up when I pressed Start button. returned with key peddle still stuck up put pressure on peddle and start button engine fired up. Also read page 47 Owners Manual cause the engine immobilizer system to malfunction is having the grip portion of the key in contact with a metal object. At the time I first experienced problem I did have bunched of keys in my pocket with car key. Happy I know cause, brakes working !00% 😄
  5. !00% agree fix brake. However I Googled problem and it came up with clublexus.com forum stated that this was common issue with several Lexus & Toyoto and is age related issue. it is a problem with check valve on brake booster leaking and dose not affect the car braking once the engine is started. Some people had replaced Brake Booster (expensive), Flushed Brake Fluid, replaced Check Valve or just living with it and stump on brake an the few occasions that starting problem happen. Another solution was replace battery cannot see how this is connected but made me check my battery only 60% so have replaced it. Next step will be to replace Check Valve if I have problem again or do it for peace of mind.
  6. Brake peddle was stuck in the up position and cannot be depressed cleared after 5min using key and locking car. Could this be a security device as i was depressing buttons etc and reading manual for about 30min
  7. My brake pedal stuck up when trying to start car. I had been sitting in car for aprox 30 mins and went to start car, tried a number of things but no luck. eventually after about 5 mins the brake pedal released and I was able to start car Any advice appreciated as to cause
  8. yes easy to do, oil not expensive. Mine had never been changed is250 2005 that was according to service records, it was black.

  10. Any advise on best replacement battery for IS250 2006 Lexus Direct web page shows one for £70 but when I ordered it the price was to go up to £95
  11. can anyone provide the link to "Hidden Features videos" IS 250 2006 Thanks
  12. Both of my 2006 is250 have been hit and outer cover cracked. Glued cracks and covered with imitation carbon fibre wrap, time consuming but only cost £7
  13. Do it yourself is the only safe option to know if job has been completed. If you ask for return of bits how do you know they came from your car. There are lots of good car service garages, try and get references. Most garage will do a good job, but the few spoil it. But ask to see the bits and possible photos of work this my indicate that you are not a walkover. good luck
  14. I had same problem with SGS as there computer informs them that they do not stock this item for IS250 in fact they do it is there was reference to this 2017 Lexus owners club forum 2017 www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot-tailgate/lexus /is/gsc2655-lexus-is300-boot-strut I replaced mine on is250 2006 in 2017 cost £52-78 for pair hope this helps Mike
