  1. Get a few more quotes for the corrosion, any recommendations for a welder, etc. This is worst bit. Get a price for the split gaiter replacement. All the rest are not serious, replacement rubbers for ball joints are available
  2. I'm absolutely seething that some low life did this twice. Concentrate on getting well. Indicative of the way this country is heading, police too busy arresting people singing Christian songs, the thugs know there is little chance of being caught and if caught, a light slap on the wrist and free to continue. Rant Alert! --Crime is not a priority, it's how much money they can squeeze out of us to pay for illegal asylum seekers and net zero, which is impossible and will never happen. There is a concerted effort from all governments to price all motorists off the road anyway, watch your road tax, insurance, parking charges continue to rise along with more and more restrictions where you can drive or park. They want to control your money[digital currency] electrical usage [smart meters] next, pay per mile, doing away with land lines, means they can switch off the internet[or an enemy will hack it] and the public will have no contact to emergency services etc. The switch to electric vehicles is the biggest con since the common market. There is inadequate electricity supplies now, changing to electric will make it worse , plus the manufacture and disposal of EV's make more pollution than ICE vehicles. They are only good for a short trip, any thing more is likely to be at least an hour of your life wasted while it charges, if you aren't in a queue. Then there's the fire risk, 'no worse than ICE you say' do some research, at least 5000 gallons of water and Hasmat suits to put it out and it may reignite anytime. Toxic fumes worse than ICE fires and for a longer period, really good for the environment! Check it out, before you dismiss it, the the hype for EV's is all BS. All not true?, just wait and see ... Sorry for this rant!
  3. LS400 This the info I have: back window part# 64810-50041 from1/8/92-31/10/94 [SERIES2] part# 64810-50040 from 1/12/89-31/8/92 [SERIES1] The last two numbers on 50040 and 50041 change according to the glass colour DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS ANY USE
  4. I'll have a more detailed look tomorrow, if the part numbers for S1 and S2 are the same. and if there are numbers on the glass. I did not fit the S1 glass into my car.
  5. only just seen this post regarding rear screen. Apologies if this has been resolved Don't forget Ebay, there was a '93 breaking a few weeks ago on here. I don't think breakers will send glass, not sure I cut one out of a scrap '91 with a plasma cutter, then carefully removed the glass. May need to think out of the box, don't give up
  6. Look up NISSENS on Ebay, I got one for my '94, 2 0r more years ago The old one wasn't leaking but looked like it was falling apart
  7. That's an idea, members should post what they are struggling to get, to see if any one can help
  8. Re series one LS400 I have a full set of side windows free, if anybody wants to collect them. I have a series two, the glass is thicker in a series one. [Lexus saving money on series 2?]
  9. Recently renewed my insurance it had gone up by about £100. Are insurance co's now increasing prices to factor in the high cost of repairs to electric cars, fire write offs, battery replacements etc? I think ICE cars etc should have separate insurance to electrics as they are cheaper to fix etc Are we subsiding the electric con.? What do you think?
  10. If you are handy, the simple deterrent I use, is to find the fire feeding the fuel pump, cut it and insert a hidden switch. Just need to remember to operate it! Not much use if you are all electric but there must be some way to cut the 'switch on' wire, physically or electronically.
  11. Does anybody think any tax will go down if we were not paying £7 million a week to keep fake asylum seekers in 4 star hotels?
  12. OK. I still think it's the main battery cables that are suspect, 1. bad earths as most people think. 2. Possible internal/ external corrosion of either lead, creating intermittent connection. Worth a look for damp in the fuse box[s] but most of starting system is usually separate. Let us know what the end result is!
  13. I don't quite follow your post, you say as soon as I ' switched the charger on', at that point do you mean 'switched the ignition on' If the charger is connected to the battery it will supply power to the car for limited systems. The ignition should be off until you remove the charger, indeed I always take the key out if I have to charge the battery, until the charger is removed. You say more and more things start to work, if the battery is charged everything should be 'alive and come on straight away not one after another. Look at the fuses carefully, see if any look like they are running hot or are corroded.
