    I was enquiring about when Android Auto would be available on the IS at Lexus Birmingham last week and their service chap told me the new IS was coming out Q4 2020 or Q1 2021 which would include Android\Apple.

    regarding the warranty, I took the option of extended 2 year warranty as I do a lot of motor mileage. Had the car in for a service recently and asked them to fix the up and down scroll button near the trackpad, the down scroll button wouldn't work correctly, they ended up changing the whole trackpad unit at a cost of £1900 !!! Obviously it's not the end of the world if that button does not work but I figured I have the warranty and why not. 25k miles driven so far this year and 3rd service fast approaching.

    It was the first time he had used google play music so maybe delete the data from storage (Apps > Google Play Music > Storage) and then try again. Maybe try spotify and see if thats different,.

    Just had my renewal, £1100, it was almost half that on my IS300 running on LPG, they are both supposed to be the same insurance group, what gives? Anyone else notice the same, tried the comparison sites but staying where I am still worked out cheaper.

    Delete the app data for google play music and then try playing something, should be listed under Apps > Google Play Music > Storage. The specific setting that causes the issue can be found under developer options > Bluetooth AVRCP Version > AVRCP 1.3 is fully supported by Lexus, 1.4 onwards causes problems.

    This is an issue with android as oppose to the update, its related to Android 8.0, the issue is fixed in 8.1 but if like me you have a Samsung S8, we are still waiting for the 8.1 update.

    Hi, I have a service plan and extended warranty on my Lexus, I understand brake pads are considered consumable items but what about brake discs, are they replaced under the warranty or service plan do you know?

    Had the same issue, delete the app data on your phone, re-launch the app then connect to the car, should be visible again. The issue is fixed in android 8.1, its to do with the versions of AVRCP implemented in Android 8.0, or more likely the lack off, AVRCP version 1.3 will work perfectly in this car but it was removed, Android 8.1 adds it back in. You can check this via Developer options on your phone but in the meantime, deleting the app data on your phone will kind of work. @Carl1983 what version is your firmware after the upgrade from lexus?

    I have created the image, its created with the .dmg file extension as I have a mac, I believe there is software available for windows users to convert .dmg to .iso Will upload tonight

    I believe they are read\write but perhaps check with @matt8 as I think he will be doing the same as you.

    Apparently the cards are registered to the head unit after first use so cant be used in a different system, but sure I can try and create an image of it for you. I think its around 11GB.

    I can upload it this evening and share a link you want an image of the micro sd card itself? Just to update, I found the issue to be with Android 8.0 and certain apps, Spotify sends over more metadata than Google Play Music. Apparently the issue is fixed in 8.1.

    Hi Andrew, I re-inserted the old card and put the new one back in and it did the firmware update this time, unfortunately the problem with metadata remains, I am on VD12104B now. I have been searching on the web and it seems to be a common problem with Android Oreo, affects people randomly though so not sure if there is anything else I can do.
