  1. Cheers, loving that spray job mate. Nice looking car that.
  2. Your right on the fuel but I certainly don't agree with anything else. Once you fit a all in one DVD , sat nav and Bluetooth system into the dash it brings the is 200 right up to modern day spec and the car lacks in nothing ..
  3. Just an update .. The actual latch was faulty, I removed the main lock and replaced it with a new one. Works perfect now.
  4. Mine was doing the same last year, it baffled me for weeks as there was no sign of water dripping anywhere. In the end I put a bottle of k-seal in and that sorted it.
  5. Just took the boot lining off and a small white plastic piece fell out ,it looks like it has a bit of a thread on it so I presume this could be the reason . I'll remove the lock tomorrow and grease it up. If not I'll order a new one as from what I can see everything is clicking and working everywhere else within the mechanism.
  6. I lubricated it with wd40, it's the same when I try the key as well. It just doesn't pop up atall. Like I said I can hear the mechanism working though . Does anyone know which part of the boot mechanism makes the boot actually pop up once activated ?
  7. It does open but I have to force it once I've pressed the button .. It's not popping up as it used too, it's as off the latch is not working correctly but not certain
  8. Out the blue my boot mechanism is not popping the boot open. I can hear it clicking when I press the remote or use the lever but it's not popping up manually like it should. If I give it a good tug when i pop the lever it opens. Anyone else had this problem ? Could it be the latch ?
  9. Cheers for the kind replys , I must admit I am considering taking the chrome plates off. Getting a private plate soon so will probably leave them off .
  10. UPDATE .. After having a 2nd and 3rd mechanic opinion this has now been confirmed as the rocker cover gasket on the top of the engine which is dripping down onto the bottom of the gear box.. Massive relief as this is one of the lesser serious leaks you can have and I shouldn't have a problem replacing this myself.. Thanks for all the replys , much appreciated
  11. Anyone know exactly were the sump plug is for the gearbox ? It's dripping down passenger side just inside the front inner wheel ..
  12. 158,000 mate just passed its mot with no advisories as well :-(
  13. Thanks for your input lads, I am not all together certain as to we're the leak is exactly from on the gearbox, all I know upto now is that the leak is coming from the gearbox. Looks like I will have to book it in . The problem is I don't want to end up with a massive bill that is more than the actual car is worth .
  14. Yeah it is at the bottom , would this be expensive or reasonable to repair via a garage ?
  15. My is200 auto Started leaking fluid on Saturday , noticed a few small spots on my drive way so to got it up on the ramp today and transmission fluid is leaking from the bottom end of the gearbox. Checked the dipstick and there is still plenty of fluid in there.. Any ideas or help from fellow is200 forum users would be much appreciated .. I fear a hefty bill here.. Hope I'm wrong :-(
  16. It is abit of a job but its well worth it as it brings the is200 dash upto modern day spec.
  17. Gutted i couldnt make the meeting on sunday but will do my best to make the next one.. I know you guys appreciate pics on here so heres a few i have just taken after shes just been valeted. Hope you like them ,cheers baz
  18. I get 35 miles off £10 round town driving .. Mines an auto and I'm happy with that.. Does this sound about right ?
  19. Strangely enough just tried it and it's working fine again.. Madness. I'll change my batteries as well just incase but I don't think that's the reason as my spare key has a new battery and that wouldnt work either.
  20. My remote central locking has stopped working. The spare key won't work either. When I open the drivers door with the key the central locking is not working and the alarm goes off. Could this be a fuse? Got me baffled
