  1. Okay, get your key fob, hit unlock, doors will unlock, then hold unlock, it will beep and then windows will open, to close, hold lock, again it will beep, and then close,
  2. Its works on my 99 and it worked on 2 ls430 I had, one was a 2001 and the other was 2004, its worked on the gs300 mk3 I had and gs430 sport mk2 I had. On the sc430, it will just go down, but not back up
  3. You dont need to start the engine to close the windows, just hold down the lock button on the key fob, and the windows will either close or open, whichever you want
  4. Yes the ls430 is a nice car, especially the facelift, but not the most reliable
  5. Hi Yea Tein will be okay, people tend to normally go for conventional shocks from Rockauto or BC coilovers. Have you also fitted a separate gearbox cooler? If not, I'd suggest you do it as the ls430 suffer from gearbox failure due to coolant leaking from the radiator into the gearbox
  6. Yes, the ls400 were fitted with nakamichi , the earlier models, infact my brother had fitted Nakamichi speakers and cd player into his golf gti mk2, this was fitted back in the 90's, and to this day, it's still working, unlike the rubbish Mark Levinson system. He also has denon fitted into his corrado vr6
  7. The mark Levinson car audio system, and I'm sorry to say this, but its rubbish. It will always fail, this is just the start of it. The amp and speakers will fail too as they are made from cheap materials. The best thing for you to do is, replace the head unit with a better brand, speakers and amp too
  8. I've never heard of the ECU failing, it's usually always the motor. Mine is a bit temperamental in cold weather, but in hot weather or when the car warms up, it works fine. Maybe you need to find yourself a new mechanic as from what I've seen and read, its always the motor that fails
  9. Hi I'm no hybrid expert, but I do know this, you know where the hybrid battery is, there is this orange clip, when putting the clip back in, did you also push down so it clicks in properly?? If not, it wont start
  10. Hi Omg how long have I waited for this? At last its advisory free, I'm over the moon
  11. I forgot to add, I do actually use bp ultimate unleaded fuel
  12. Hi guys I went up to Scotland on saturday, got back this morning, anyway, I got great mpg cruising at 60mpg, the most I've got was 41mpg, but on Saturday I got 39mpg
  13. That's what is always doneafter installing a new battery and before starting an ls400
  14. If it's the alternator, the battery light will stay on. Did you do a reset after you connected the battery? If not, try it. Turn the ignition until the lights come on the dash, dont start it, leave it like that for 6 mins, then switch off, and then start the car
  15. Mine is dhp too, they used my reg and got the correct springs, but to be honest, even normal ls400 springs are good.
  16. Why dont you try your local car spares shop? I got kyb front springs for my ls400 from a local car spares shop, £30, I went in on the morning, they ordered them and were delivered by 1pm the sameday
  17. Yeah because the 430 and 460 are newer and dont show any signs of electrical faults or any faults. But do have air suspension issues, gearbox issues, air con issues, cd player and amp issues, speaker blowing, rust on both front doors, but hey, because he said good things about the 430, they are better than the 400 in your opinion too now?
  18. I've seen this video ages ago, and it says one of the best, it's not the best lexus ever made, the best for me is the ls400

    245 50 17

Does anyone have pirelli 245 50 17 tyres they want to get rid off?
  21. Hiya, well, where do I start, I'll just tell you about the issues you get with the ls430, then you can make up your own mind. Gearbox failure, air suspension failure, vsv valve, speakers failure, cd player failure, rust on both front doors, rear air con stops working, its the kinda car that when you come out the house every morning, and before you even open the drivers door, you think to yourself, I wonder if every thing is working? There may be more faults, but I cant think now, it's too early. Lexus actually called me this week about an event they have on and that they will put £4000 towards a newer Lexus, my answer was this, " yes lexus is more reliable than bmtroubleyou, Mercedes etc, but the most reliable Lexus for me is the ls400, the newer Lexus's use so much tech, that things do go wrong and it gets expensive, I've also had gs430 mk2 sport, gs300, sc430, is300, ls430 and I have to say, none of them are as reliable as an ls400" he agreed.
  22. Hi Malc My advice to you having had 2 sc430's is that they are not that reliable as people make out. Yes they are more reliable than a bmtroubleyou, Audi and merc etc, but not the most reliable lexus. I've had 2, besides the engine, and a few misfires, it's not that reliable. But each to their own. Oh word of advice, never buy one from that dodgy dealer Rich Walker who calls himself lexusman in Gloucester, I'm sure there are others who have dealings with him and will tell you a few stories about him, hence why his website Lexusworld has been taken down
  23. I wouldnt sell it Paul, you will regret it, I've had an sc430, ls430, gs430 mk2 sport, gs300 mk3 and is300, none of them are as reliable and good to drive like an ls400. Took my ls400 into lextek 2 weeks ago to get drivebelt replaced, a customer there offered me 6k for it, I declined to sell it, a month ago someone offered me 5.5k for it, I wouldn't sell it. About 4 months ago I was in Nottingham, some guy with an rx300 stopped me and said he wants my ls400, he would give me the rx300 and 4k on top, I said no thank you. Its not about the money, although I could do with the money, I love the car, I'm glad it didnt sell when I put it on here, i wouldn't know what to get next. Nothing out there is as good as an ls400. Body wise shes about 80% good, but mechanically she is brilliant, I've looked after it.
