  1. Sorry to hear that and i bet you are more disappointed on the dealer rather the car but yes 99% of them are just scums and they prefer to rip you off . What happened in the end with the your gs ?
  2. Hi Tony, I understand your frustration and and anger about your car but just think like that , you had a high tech car that it has been used 200k+ miles almost trouble free until now, a car which is high tech like you said , a car that served you well. Because you had this problem now and because Lexus dealer is a disgrace that not make the car to be bad. Tell me a car that you could buy in our days and that will last for 200k+ miles without a major intervention, not many definitely. I know you feel is not fair what happened and they way you are treated by lexus and we all support you and agree with you but still like others i think you should try to find a lexus specialist that can give you more information, try to fix the car with a used and cheaper part , then sell it . There are a few guys on Ebay with some gs 450h for breaking and i am sure you will be able to find whatever is wrong with your car. I hope i have not offended you in any way , i just wanted to show my support for you and if i can help you with something i will be more than happy to do it. From this guy i have bought a few thing in the past and he is a great guy , he has a gs 450h breaking so you could send him an email and ask him to give you a price for the part that you will need. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/giedrola13?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2754
  3. Hi Ganesh, To be honest i don't think there is a number limit because after all you delete the old ones and replace their codes with the new ones and on the techstream is nothing that will indicate any limits. I have also seen your other question on another topic about the tpms and i have used my car a week without tmps sensors and other than the message in the no problem so don't worry about the car going in limp mode and also it is not possible to disable the system from my knowledge. I have researched all forums about that before i bought a new tpms.
  4. You're welcome Andy. Always happy to help! If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
  5. On mine some guy managed to take it off by cutting the corner , the driver side and i have really researched about a week to find one but i managed to find one from Poland for £125 , the whole mirror assembly. I would suggest you to do the same, there are a few more on ebay US but the shipping is about 60$. This is the price from Lexus for the whole assembly : The part number you require is 87901-30250-B1 - MIRROR SUB-ASSY, OUTER REAR VIEW, RH , PREMIUM SILVER,1F2. The price is shown as £381.01. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251488572317?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  6. Eurocar parts have some calipers for £130 or something similar or you could go to an independent garage and have them rechecked . It may be necessary to just grease the pins.
  7. If i would be you i would look for used headlight on ebay. It will definitely be cheaper than any Lexus dealer or solution offered by them.
  8. If you will swap your old sensors to the the new wheels than is no need to reprogram them but if you will have new sensors than the cheap solution is to buy a mini VCI cable with the toyota techstream software and reprogram them, it takes just 5-10 minutes and is really easy or you could go to a lexus dealer and pay loads of money for the same job .
  9. I know Steve and you are right :). I also agree that in term of reliability an practicality older stuff is better but in our new lexus is a bit annoying to take out the tpms because it will take care to remind us every time that there is an error . And i don't think is very nice from lexus to charge £194.56 for such a simple operation. To program the new sensor is true that you have to re write the others 3 but it does not take more than 5 minutes.
  10. Hi ! I have attached the link to the topic that i have started in april about tpms on my gs450h . I think you might have paid a bit too much . My total cost of the tpms , toyota techstream cable + software and tpms fitting was £80 . Next time you might consider my suggestion and you can ask me any questions you have about gs 450h. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/89242-lexus-gs-3rd-gen-tpms/
  11. Thank you for your advice Shepherd. I have already started slowly to buy some stuff , i just bought a pressure washer , some decent car shampoo, wax , alloy cleaner , some interior treatment for leather and plastics so when the weather will improve a bit i will try them .
  12. When i had my car at the dealer in Ipswich i have also been advised about an excessive oil leak in the front of the engine and i don't have anything like that . Try these websites : http://jp-carparts.com/ , http://www.amayama.com/ and if you know the part number you can also ask the guys on ebay from the official lexus store.
  13. Let's hope you will have it fixed and let us know when it is done .
  14. My wheel setup is not staggered , is 8j on front and rear same tire size the and it was doing the same with the old wheels . I think you might be right about the normal way of the new cars . Before the Lexus I had an accord from 2004 and despite the fact that I have fitted new alloys with the same spec like the oem ones and new tired with the tracking done at a very good garage , revolution in Gateshead Newcastle it was exactly the same , pulling to the left a bit . I have tried the opposite side of the road and it still seems like it pulls a bit , not that much but just a bit
  15. They have been checked this year when I had the service done at Lexus Ipswich and also 2 weeks ago when I changed my alloys
  16. After i managed to bring the car almost to my standard and make it pretty much faultless and a place to enjoy i decided to also post some photos of how it was when i bought it and how is now with the new alloys .
  17. Hi all, On my Lexus i have installed new wheels , new tires and full geometry(wheel alignment + steering alignment) done in 2 places and last of them was black boots & wheel in motion in Chesham but i still have a problem despite the fact that everything looks fine on paper my car is slightly pulling to left and because i am a bit to fussy with those thing it kinda annoys me. I have attached the results from wheels in motion maybe some of you could give me any guidance or at least let me know if your cars are doing the same .
  18. Hi to everyone , I have a Lexus Gs 450h from 2006 and recently i changed my alloys and i tried to swap the TPMS on new alloys but one of them it was really bad corroded and it snapped so i had to source another one so i have searched everywhere to find a cheaper alternative than Lexus dealers and also to match with our European frequency 433 MHz and i have found a company called RL automotive here in UK , very friendly and helpful which sell the sensors for £58.20 each including VAT and delivery which i think is pretty decent. Here is the email between me and the sales person from there : Good morning, We have two sensors that are compatible with the GS but depending on what frequency; TCD 1204 433Mhz £44.75 TCD 7002 315Mhz £39.00 I imagine that if the car is from the UK it would work on 433Mhz but it would be best to make sure. All prices are plus VAT and £5.00 delivery inside the UK, please provide full address details for international shipping quote. Many thanks, Wez Burns Sales Administrator Park 34 Southmead Industrial Estate Didcot Oxfordshire OX11 7WB Tel: 01235 818 777 Fax: 0870 850 8824 www.rlauto.com www.tpmscentral.com After i received the sensor i just got it fitted on the new alloy and with the mini VCI and Toyota techstream i have registered in the tpms ecu and everything was fine , no more tpms light on dash. I have no intention to post this as an advert . It is your choice if you want to ever buy the tpms from there or not . I have just tried to help others spend less money rather than pay too much at the dealers + tpms registration .
  19. What about the dual mass flywheel ? Usually vibration and some clattering noise especially when is cold sound like the symptoms for it .
  20. 2 years ago i was in similar position with you and i have spent nights and days trying to find out how to get the best quote for my car and i have used glass car valuation . I paid £3.95 or something similar and there is where i got the best quote . My opinion is that if they went up it means you can definitely get more and if I were you i would try the glass evaluation and put something extra if you have any recent receipts for any work carried. When you will get you valuation you can call them and say that you have an official evaluation because you will receive a proper email that will list everything and say that you will not accept anything less than that. Good luck !
  21. Thanks for your information Coneybiller. Regarding the filter i have checked Saturday and it's fine they have not changed anything and exactly like you i had the k&n badge on the airbox . With the oil i will also try to find someone , maybe roy's motor in Norwich and see their opinion , now i have 112k or less and i am not doing many miles . About the oil leak i have checked saturday and today again but nothing , i guess they just wanted to mess up with me maybe because i sprayed the bonnet latch with some grease and it was a bit oily there but nothing excessive and anyone would know that anything oily will be from there .About the rear calipers i will see what i;m gonna do . I have seen on the eurocarparts website calipers from pagid for £100 so i might change them . Anyway today i had my full valeting including exterior protection detail & interior , leather cleaned and conditioned and carpets cleaned and I am keep wondering if i am a guy who cares too much or i am being an idiot but for example i will post a couple photos with what i found and think that is not acceptable to see when someone ask you £150. I have to mention that i have left my car home and took my girlfriend car to work so when i arrived home from work my car was ready and the guy gone so we were supposed to meet after that but after i inspected the car i called him and explained him what i think it was wrong so tomorrow he will come and sort some of them but he said that on the leather because is perforated he can not take out those bits inside the holes and all the cars have this problem and and also now that he cleaned the leather and treated it has lost a bit color like is on the door card so i told him that is not really acceptable . Now i am asking for your opinions guys : I really am a very difficult guy or I am asking too much ? I love my cars and i always loved them so maybe i have to high expectations from people who work on them .
  22. Why don't you buy a mini vci cable with toyota techstream software and you it will be much better than this one ?
  23. Well now i got a really nice cold from there so i will spend my weekend in bed . To me it looked like the guy from there was not capable to give a decent answer to any question and he didn't really care about customers. At the end when i received the paper with what has been done on a couple jobs it was ticked R from replace , thing like diesel fuel filter (on a petrol car),A from adjusted on air filter and inverter coolant and a couple other things that i could not understand because it wasn't clear and when i asked why is an R for the diesel fuel filter he said maybe the technician made a mistake and i asked the same about the air filter because i told him i replaced the original one with a K&N and he said he has no idea. Today if i will fell ok i will check it anyway and also the oil level because yesterday i was tired and it was raining and i just wanted to get home.
  24. Hi everyone. Today i have been to Lexus Ipswich for the minor service on my car , 110k miles. I paid £179 , the fixed price from lexus official website . I have not been very impressed with the service , i waited from 2 pm till 4 pm and it was really cold inside. At the end i have asked the guy from the service desk if they also checked the transmission fluid because i told them that since booked the car for the service and he said that gs450h is special and the oil in the gearbox is guaranteed for life so i also wanted to ask you your opinion . They said that i also have a excessive oil leak from offside front engine which requires a good clean and rechecking in 200 miles . The problem with the leak is that i since i bought my car i have worked a bit on it and i have inspected the oil and engine a couple times and i have not seen any leak , there is no oil under the car since i bought it and when i asked him from where it could be he said that it will need further investigation because they can't say the cause yet .They also said that both rear calipers show sign of corrosion and need to be stripped and checked but i think i will do that myself . I told them that i have some noise from the back and they said is the heat shield but i will inspect it because they want £64.50 for it + labor. I have also asked prices for the heated seat bulb : £7.26 , pwr/ect/snow button bulb: £5.33 and i wanted to buy some clips for the plastic cover trims from the engine and price for all was : £19.99 a bit expensive i think so i said i will try to source them myself but i told them to bring me the bulb for the heated seats and for the pwr/ect/snow button as i couldn't find them anywhere else. As a final note i am not very impressed because the lack of customer care(waiting in cold for 2 hours),unclear answer for the oil leak which i don't think it i have it ,every time when i was asking a question i couldn't get any answer, price for the parts was £40.95 , labor £95.70 , I have done the first service since i bought the car at Lexus for my peace of mind but from now on i will try to find someone else. Please let me know if any of you changed the transmission fluid and knows from secure sources that this is a serviceable item . Kind regards, Adrian
