  1. 4 years of amazing driving. I purchased my is200 SportCross and it has been the greatest car I have driven. We were gifted some money after my mother in law passed away last year and my wife and I decided to get a newer, more fuel efficient car. So Zorro, my SportCross is being sold on February 5th and will be living out his retirement in Belgium. Yup, the buyer is traveling to Wales and driving home to Belgium. The replacement. An IS300H Premium. Photos will follow, but not until Zorro has gone. I will be in mourning until February 10th.
  2. I had a poor run of cars before Zorro. Kia, Kia, Corsa. It wasn't good. Zorro was 8 years old when I bought him, 125000 on the clock and easily the best car I've ever driven. The New IS is just too firm. The seats are firm the ride is firm. But, I suppose it's what the demand is.
  3. Hi guys, I'm considering buying a second set of alloys, with new tyres as they are the same price as the new tyres, but I have to factor in the petrol costs to pick them up. I don't know the condition of the wheels, so I'm checking out the weight to get a quote for scrap value.
  4. It was a great walk. Not to far to drive on for Burnley. We've got to the stage where we're spotting other Lexus' in car parks and hoping there's an empty space next to them. Lol
  5. They were from ebay. Less than a fiver. I need to put clear heat resistant lacquer on . . Forgot to do it at the time. The rear caliper, the decal is just the L in the circle.
  6. All in all, it went really well. I didn't get round to doing the rear calipers or pads, but the finished result is quite impressive.
  7. Last weekend I decided to freshen Zorro up and give the brake calipers a bit of something . . . Also, I changed the front brake pads
  8. Again, that is an optional thing. Zorro originally came fitted with standard 16's (205/55/R16) but I upgraded to stock 5 spoke 17's and could not find the wider rears, so I got same size wheels front and back (215/45/R17) but I know these wheels will accommodate 225/45/R17 without any concerns. People have gone bigger and smaller and stretched. . . But, for staggering, I decided to put spacers on. 15mm on each front hub and 20mm on each rear hub. This gives a slightly wider track and nicer look. when I finally get round to lowering, the wheels will sit quite flush.
  9. I have taken this picture from photobucket (user: Vasilis Cougar ((greekcougar)) His VIN plate is identifiable behind the bulkhead, I think mine is missing . . . . .
  10. Hi Guys, reviving an old Thread . . sorry. Is this where the VIN plate should be? Mine is an 04' IS200 SportCross.
  11. Good morning all, do we have any more people considering attending this meet? Only a month away.
  12. Yeah, if I could afford to run a second car, Zorro would be my weekend car. But it's great to drive!
  13. Indeed. If you bought a Lexus for fuel economy, you're gonna be disappointed. Zorro is my daily driver ( only car ) and I have done 25000+ since Jan '13. I'm very happy with the fuel economy. When we drove to, around and back from Scotland, I was averaging 35 all the way. Lowering the car should improve (reduce) drag, so longer journeys should be better again.
  14. www.fuelly.com/driver/stuart.aspey I have been monitoring my mileage and MPG since Jan '13, 27,000 miles ago. I'm averaging 31.6 MPG.
  15. Thank you for all you have done. It was great to meet you last year and a pity I wasn't able to get to Nottingham for the last meet. I hope all is well. Keep in touch, if possible.
  16. Zorro currently has 149023 mile on the clock. Still drives great.
  17. Good afternoon and welcome to the Forum. I've only been here for a year and a half, but I don't think i'll find a better car or owners club.
  18. My wife and I are travelling up from Wales, so it'll be brilliant to have a member travelling down from Scotland too.
  19. Fantastic, so half unscrew and pop out? Brilliant. Will Halfrauds sell the bulb?
  20. Follow up. I've had the stereo out, taken the wires out and put them back in. SOUND! Not sure what was wrong, but it's working.
  21. How do you separate the button housing to get the bulb out?
  22. Hey guys. I know I'm replying to a very old thread, but my speakers went off on Friday. No warning noises to suggest anything had broken. The speakers were working before I turned the car off and they simply were not working when I got back in and started the car up again. I've checked the fuses, radio 1 had 10amp, not broken. Radio 2 had 7.5amp, but was also not broken. Replaced with a 10amp, but this has not fixed the problem. I'm going to check the wires now, but if it is the amp, how easy is it to replace? Stuart.
  23. I've had my SportCross for 15-16 months now and I absolutely love it. I drive really softly and am proud at how well I have done with the MPG. When the time comes to replace Zorro, the RX400h looks like the best car. I still want a big easy accessible boot and the second gen IS and third gen GS just don't seem suitable. If I can get 40MPG out of the RX, I'd start saving straight away . . . .
