  1. As it happens most people only change the exhausts when the original one perishes, a lexus one is far more expensive than a normal a custom stainless, and as for noise you get what you get which is what I have and I quite like it, although some people like to either quite it or go for full on supercar sounds,it's there choice. But the lexus cost is ridiculous so it's a no brainer,
  2. Here in leeds lexus and Toyota are at the same place where I ordered it from the parts counter, I'm trying to keep mine as original as possible, I've put new wheels on mine but saved the original ones in case I sell ever!.so I always stick to main dealers.
  3. I think there is another fuse box in the passenger footwell as well, I sent a message to remember, but my car isn't here at the moment to check.
  4. All fuses, in boot, bonnet and both footwells, have you tried the disconnected battery trick as well, maybe plug a diagnostic tool in and see if it comes up with anything, it will be something simple I'm sure.
  5. I take it you have rain drops on the seat, I once had this, I removed the internal panels and got the wife to pour water on the roof and saw where it came in and filled the hole with black mastic,if you open the roof and stop it half way you can check for any splits in the rubber,a new seal from lexus was about 167 if I remember right, but it was a 3 day wait, and it took me a morning to do the change over,it was fairly tricky to do though, if you opt for a new one, fit it in place and do the bolts before removing the tape cover.
  6. The boot is empty as I had it stripped when I altered the boot height,I'll have a look at the fuse size tomorrow, thanks for all your help as always.
  7. I can't see it being a solar panel as I would have definitely spotted it by now, I polish this car every fortnight, as for a second battery it would have to be small in order to hide it.you can see I keep it clean.
  8. Here is a pic of the cable it has a fuse in the little box, once I reconnected it my battery holds it's charge now, does anyone know what it is please.
  9. As I said on a previous post there's a wire attached to my positive terminal on my battery, it came off and the battery kept going flat after two days,I reconnected it and now problem since, I'm not mechanic so I don't know what it does but it works at keeping the battery alive.so does any one know what it is, it would help alot of people.
  10. I absolutely hate the aerial so I disconnected it like you, if I ever want it back in will have to buy a new one as I damaged the old one, however it works fine without it,but fixing my boot lid I found the motor when I stripped the boot linning, it's easier than it looks,if you get stuck put a note on hear and I can help on this one.john
  11. Just do the list first and then go from there, also you know you can type one of the issues in the search bar and see if it's already been on and a solution found, good luck.
  12. Same engine, same build quality, but one can carry 5 in comfort and one can carry 2, but with wind in their hair.also similar running costs, but the sc won't go below 6k but the ls will keep dropping in value. Everyone loves the sc but be careful on colour I personally don't like black, red and silver on this car,I also know most people prefer the walnut compared to the yellow maple, so think of that when your ready to sell next time. But it's your car your choice, which ever you choose enjoy it.
  13. To be honest cost doesn't bother me for the mileage that I do in the sc, as I'm normally in diesel cars and vans.
  14. I shall have a look tomorrow, and post a pic of it.but whatever it is it stops the battery going flat.
  15. Hi, I build petrol stations and my clients /owners keep telling me to use the high octane fuel but I have always believed it's only good for cars with turbos, I only use shell standard fuel at the moment with an occasional BP thrown in, can anyone tell me what if any difference it would make to change, your views will be greatly appreciated, thanks john.
  16. Cars not been holding a charge, after 3days it's to flat to start. While having a look at the battery I noticed a black wire with a fuse on it laying next to the positive nippel, I've reconnected it and now no problems, but this wire looks like after market the way it's just laying there, does anyone know what it is, and how it works, thanks.
  17. Maybe there keeping them in garages as investments, after all there were only 2200 or so sold in total,it's an exclusive club.
  18. Does it sound gritty, if so there might be a bit of debris in there, you can buy a can of air cleaner from staples (used on cleaning keyboards)but it works. You could also try and get some silicon spray in there as well, but try the air first.
  19. Leeds were quite cheap, but a bit to far I reckon, but do check the labour as they have charged as separate jobs, they did this to me until I challenged it,I also said that they were up against an aa garage so they had to come down in price which they did.I can't remember what the price was but I will have a look later.
  20. I gave her a good clean,Now back to how she should be. In the flesh she does turn heads,
  21. The door cards come of quite easily, there are hidden screws behind the cover in the handle and behind the little speaker where the mirror is, I would remove both sides that way you can watch what is meant to happen and what is actually happening, remember most parts take 3days from main stealers, but you can get replacements from breakers check the famous auction site. Good luck.
  22. Hi I did my exhaust last spring and went for stainless due to the original having blown in so many places, lexus wanted just to much,I was given a choice over how much noise iwanted so I opted for standard how it came and now I've got a lovely burble, but in tunnels and multi storys Wow how meaty,,, let love it.
  23. Seriously guys this is getting to complicated, what's wrong with the way it was designed, if all you want is a quick track car why didn't you buy a track car, I believe you can over think these issues to the point of ocd, and there are very few cars to beat the sc and all the time and effort for maybe 1 second doesn't sound good sense to me, but am I missing the point of why you feel the need to do all these alterations. Best regards john
  24. Boot now sorted, under the latch behind the Pannal there is a couple of nuts that can be adjusted to pull or lift the lid and with fiddling with the cams on the arm mechanisms it has been sorted, I forgot to take a photo of the mechanism as it's a work of art, I can't believe how complex it is, you can see where the money goes on these cars, although ability disappointed that lexus tecs couldn't work it out. Maybe they need to go on a refresher course.
  25. I enquired at a performance centre once and it was told it would be hard to improve what I had without spending thousands, they said the japs built it that way on purpose.
