  1. Hi All, I hope this has ended up in the right place. I have an 2004 IS300 LE and my drivers side external Auto dim mirror dosent appear to be working. The passenger side mirror dimms when the button on the internal mirror is pressed with the internal mirror. I have noticed that when i press the auto feature button on the internal mirror the green light only comes on the left (passenger side UK). Are both green lights supposed to come on either side of the button? and also does the lack of a green light on the right side of the button on the internal mirror signal that there is a fault with the drivers side? If so - is there a fuse i need to replace for the right mirror? - how do i investigate the problem further? Appreciate the help
  2. Hi All, Wondering if I can have some help/support with a project im looking to undertake involving dash lights for my main centre console for the lexus Is200? I have many questions.... I have recenly changed all the spedo cluster bulbs from a kit i Bought off ebay from the standard orange to white - i am very pleased with the results. Now I have set my sights on changing the main centre console lights and from research, I can see that this looks fairly complicated. If it resolves my query quicker - If i can pay someone to do this or be reffered to a place that can then great! But Im assuming my luck will not be so fortunate. Im not really looking to change all the LED'S on the dash, such as switch button indicators and cigarette ligter etc.. Im simply looking to replace the back lighting in the centre console - for the heater dials and clock, the stock stero and the heated seat/ trackton buttons. With the cluster bulbs i noticed an orange film covering the bulbs, are these the same in the central unit? is it possible to replce these "film caps" with white ones? Also if the center console bulbs have orange caps on also - what will it look like if i simply remove these caps - is it white light or yellow? or if there are orange cpas on all of these is it possible to remove the caps and put a white light filter either on the bulbs or behind the dials? As you can probaly tell im trying to avoid the dredded soldering Iron but if I cannot - ill have to try my luck. What parts are the easisest to replace? I.e what parts of the centre console are plug and play bulbs and what can i not avoid soldering? Does anyone have a guide to do these (most importantly the stereo) as im assuming this to be a mammoth task. I have attempted to find some layouts pics for this but not always very clear. Help is very much appreciated thanks :)
  3. Hi Mate, Just posted my first topic too, my advice is watch out for these. I recently ordered some "official" ones offline as i broke my original OEM key (They have a tendancy to snap under years of pressure of being turned in the ignition), though when i received them and took them to a key cutter, I ran into issues. Mainly because the metal shaft of the Keys were too long. Also not sure if it is the same as yours but the top of the key is pretty thin and this is hard for a key cutter to replicate. The ones I ordered came with gold metal too and they were useless - might be better to check the length before ordering them. I had to claim on my keycare insurance and get my replacement from a dealer.
  4. Hi All, Got an 04 IS200 Limited Edition (hopefully you can see in my pic) - though i don't know exactly what is particularly unique about it I'm so happy to own this car, when i was about 10 I saw one and wanted it from the moment I saw it. Still to this day - I think this is the best looking car on the road and now I have one, I'm loving it! Just dropping on here as I have a few questions to ask and wondering if anyone can help? 1. How exactly is a LE different from the rest of the IS200 range? - Research would dictate that this is loosley based on the Platinum edition available is Australia, minus the grey leather seats - The only things I can tell are the center console and the self leveling headlights am I missing anything? 2. Whirring clutch noise - Being a little OCD on the condition of my cars I have come to notice a whirring noise that can be heard, if silent enough to hear a pin drop, both inside and outside my car whilst stationary. Any ideas? Throwout bearing? - Goes away when clutch is depressed. 3. Clutch pedal squeak - Sometimes when i push in and out on the pedal I can hear a squeak. Do I need to be worried about this? 4. In the LE a satnav does not come as standard - tactically made this decision as I deemed the hereditary one would be outdated and probably not supported by Lexus. I can see you can buy the unit cases online and was wondering if anyone on here has ever put a tablet/sat nav in one? - If so what size? How easy is it to wire up the looms for the fold up and down buttons etc...? 5. Brake creaking - When i am pulling into my drive (Which is uphill and on a bend) - when i am turning the wheel I can hear my brakes/wheels creaking like under some sort of unusual pressure anyone else experience this? 6. Any common IS200 issues i need to be aware of/ prevent - Looking to keep this in tip top shape as long as possible and any other useful advice would be very much appreciated. 7. If there any big IS200 owners meetings that are going on soon would be great to know about them, want to be nosey and see/ get some ideas off what people have done to their cars :)
