Hi All,
Got an 04 IS200 Limited Edition (hopefully you can see in my pic) - though i don't know exactly what is particularly unique about it I'm so happy to own this car, when i was about 10 I saw one and wanted it from the moment I saw it. Still to this day - I think this is the best looking car on the road and now I have one, I'm loving it! Just dropping on here as I have a few questions to ask and wondering if anyone can help?
1. How exactly is a LE different from the rest of the IS200 range? - Research would dictate that this is loosley based on the Platinum edition available is Australia, minus the grey leather seats - The only things I can tell are the center console and the self leveling headlights am I missing anything?
2. Whirring clutch noise - Being a little OCD on the condition of my cars I have come to notice a whirring noise that can be heard, if silent enough to hear a pin drop, both inside and outside my car whilst stationary. Any ideas? Throwout bearing? - Goes away when clutch is depressed.
3. Clutch pedal squeak - Sometimes when i push in and out on the pedal I can hear a squeak. Do I need to be worried about this?
4. In the LE a satnav does not come as standard - tactically made this decision as I deemed the hereditary one would be outdated and probably not supported by Lexus. I can see you can buy the unit cases online and was wondering if anyone on here has ever put a tablet/sat nav in one? - If so what size? How easy is it to wire up the looms for the fold up and down buttons etc...?
5. Brake creaking - When i am pulling into my drive (Which is uphill and on a bend) - when i am turning the wheel I can hear my brakes/wheels creaking like under some sort of unusual pressure anyone else experience this?
6. Any common IS200 issues i need to be aware of/ prevent - Looking to keep this in tip top shape as long as possible and any other useful advice would be very much appreciated.
7. If there any big IS200 owners meetings that are going on soon would be great to know about them, want to be nosey and see/ get some ideas off what people have done to their cars :)
