  1. Hi all. Another in the long line of woes over the Lexus Sat nav system. I have been into the dealer 3 times recently and interestingly other people in there all said the same. " God the sat nav is rubbish!" So why oh why are Lexus persisting in using such a dreadful system? We pay a lot for our cars and the tech inside of them. My gps aerial has failed and I'm awaiting a new one. It arrived, I went in and they said it would be about an hour to fit. They come out and ask for the car for two days! I of course ask why? They have never done one before and have to take the whole dash out to fit it...Umm check before making me go back and forth and taking hours out of my day. Now I have to go back again! I recently did a test with y sat nav and my sisters portable one. She bought for £30. So on my 23k plus car, it should easily do more than a cheap and cheerful one... Well the results surprised me! Hers had lane info for junctions. Lexus, does not. Hers zoomed in at junctions and roundabouts to show you the exit. Lexus, does not. Hers on the motorway and various junctions showed the split lanes and which one to take. Lexus does not. This was not a tom-tom sat nav either, just a cheap generic one loaded with european maps. Much better than the Lexus one. Ok. Now the DAB radio. Seriously i love my car. But have to say the tech is just poor. For the money we all pay, I expect the best not the crap we are getting. I have a £15 dab radio at home. It displays the channel, the presenter, the song on now and what's coming up. The Lexus...Just the station. I mean seriously rubbish! Lexus are being lazy! The car is great. We all like them. So why such rubbish tech that's so simple to make right. Go back to tom tom PLEASE!!!!! Sort our the radio it is bloody terrible!!! The only thing that works, well on mine it does on many others it does not is the Bluetooth connection. Even then the iPod usb connector/charger fails to charge half the time until you restart the engine. Ridiculous!!! So Lexus the challenge is to get of your lazy asses and sort it out before people just stop buying into the Lexus ethos. I for one will be one of them very soon. M
  2. Hi all. So I am looking for roof bars for the CT. Not sure what to go for. I use my roof box rarely, but am going to need to use it soon. I am looking for sensibly priced ones. Any ideas? Also, after a bike rack for the rear, anybody attempted this yet? Martin. :-)
  3. I would dig through this. I have the F sport and took me a while to configure all the toys the way I wanted them. On the dash there is the little computer display on the right. thats used via the button on the steering wheel. if you cycle through it when stopped settings will appear and you can go in and adjust a few more features, such as keeping the rev counter on, no matter what mode you are in, Led brightness etc..Day lights on or off and so on.. https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/info/my-lexus/resources/owners-manual-search.do Martin
  4. Hi. Welcome to the mad world of Lexus sat nav. I am an ex tomtom user and had one in my first lexus ct before they changed to their system. I use memory points for places I visit regularly. go to destination, then on the bottom you will see Home and a 1 to 5 click on any of those and they are quick access points. So then set your destination and it saves to that selected number. Oh watch out for the lovely Sat nav. It will show on the map, an icon that looks like a bend. This is actually the exit icon as well, not just for bends. Caught me out loads! Good luck :-)
  5. I would make them all mp3 and also some systems have trouble reading sticks over 32gb. It may be a high density stick in shoich case the current Lexus system will take an age to read it.
  6. So I have the 200 with Gunmetal alloys. It's an Fsport model. I wanted it to stand out a little more and asked the dealer if they did red brake calipers. Alas, no! So after some research and chatting to a mechanic friend of mine. I purchased some Hammerite smooth in red along with a 1 inch brush. Dropped it off at the garage and after taking the brakes off and painting the calipers with 2 coats. Only cost £60 here is the end result. I think it looks great.
  7. Hi all. Glad you have all posted on my gripe. Can we keep this going. This needs sorting and the best way is customer complaints. I have had the most awful response from the Luxus customer service UK team. They were rude and matter of fact. No, what can we do to help. Just that's how it is, tough! I am hunting for the email of Lexus MD UK and Worldwide. Go to the top to get anything done. Let's see.
  8. Hi, Thanks for the post. I have had this attitude all day long from them today as well. I called them and all they would say was it's how it is. No actual help to resolve it. I had the 2012 version before and that had tomtom built in, so actually worked! I agree with you it is total Crap! The Fsport is great, but they fail to realise that the sat nav is now an essential part of a car. I was not even shown it when I changed to this car. Just told there is built in sat nav. I like the car a lot but spending 20k plus on it has left a very sour taste. The dealer even said I would have to pay for a map update! I only got it a few weeks ago so it should of been updated before i bought it. Hey ho. I would never recommend them now. They have blown it with me.
  9. Hi. It is frustrating. Take a look at my post...All about the Sat Nav.
  10. This might be a bit of a vent but stay with me. Firstly, does anyone else have this system? So here is my problem. I have only just got the car and was off on hold to France for a few days last week. First time to use the sat nav abroad. I have had issues with it in the UK too. Voice activation. It gives you the option to say the town and street name, or just the town. Giving just the town does not work! It always asks you for the street name, always! So actually driving with it. Driving along the motorway...Set the route after a little fight with it and away we go. Popped in the postcode for channel tunnel, It wanted to take me to the middle of the channel! Yep in the sea. Not a good start. Poi then. Got me within signs for the tunnel, but would of actually gone past it by miles. While driving along the motorway it keeps saying slight left at the Motorway exit! No warning the exit is even coming up! Just, take the next slight left...Really! When I arrived in France it would then not accept voice commands in English. Said all voice commands to be in French when in France! WTF! Again driving on roads got, slight right for all motorway exits, just said. slight right ahead! What. No it's an exit of the motorway, not a slight right! On my return I contacted Lexus with the issues. Popped into the dealer yesterday who said that's just the way it is. Spoke to Customer Relations today who said the same. I was also told the maps need updating and would cost me £140 to get done. I have only had the car 20 something days...Umm the maps should be up to date before I buy it! Seriously considering handing it back. Rant over, but valid I think. I have used Sat navs for years. While in France I ended up using a free ihpone app to do nav. It was brilliant. Clear directions, exit warnings and lane directions. If a free app can do this...Yet a 20k plus car can't...This needs sorting.
  11. Is anyone else getting this problem. I have a CT 200h. When driving at speed during the day 70mph plus I get the noise of indicators, wipers when used, anything electrical through the stereo when listening to the radio. At night I get it all the time, at any speed. Always on any FM station. Also, Really fed up with bluetooth dropping out all the time, it loses my phone in the system and will only re-connect when I restart the car itself. So anyone else? Martin
