  1. To update this topic, after about three year I can say the protection is still good. What is important it's how a coating is maintaned... perosanlly I wash the car by hand, with rinseless process and I use a ceramic detail quick detailer spray, made by a USA brand called DIY that is amazing. To anser to the old quetsion that I missed (sorry) the first process cost me in Italy more than 1000€ Now, if one is able to polish the car itslef, this price can be decreased dramatically, as there ar eon the market products very good to apply a ceramic coating at home without problems, but polishing the paint is mandatory.
  2. Thanks everyone for your comments. In my actual system (at the moment) I saw the icons of the speed camera on the screen, and the advice about 800 meters early is still coming… let’s hope they does not disappear. About using Waze or other map service, unfortunately there’s some problems for my actual set up. 1. I cannot use MirrorLink as it is not supported by my iPhone 2. few months ago, I asked the official dealer if there was any possibility to update the RC300H to Apple car. They wanted to try even if Lexus EU does not allow RC series to be update (that’s crazy) and obviously the process fail. So as I don’t like to use a mobile phone as navigation system I should use the last version 2021v2 that actually is installed. Of course, the navigation system in my Lexus is not at the highnesses of any online map 😔 and it’s very frustrating.
  3. If I'm not mistaken, since 2014, Lexus has started providing a free service which (at least in Italy) is called "Lexus Connected Services". I think I first used it on the IS250, then on two IS300H I had (the last one MY2017), and it is still working on the CT200H MY2017 It wasn't a type of advanced service as I believe is now provided on new cars, but certainly very useful: indication of petrol pumps with prices, available parking spaces in a certain area, even with the price per hour. Weather information and the photographic view of the arrival point of a route were entered in the navigation system, through "Google Street View". Very importantly, once a route was entered, if connected to the Internet, the navigation system changed the way roads and highways were displayed, adding a colored frame to the route and providing updated information via the Internet, rather than only that of the navigation system. Now, these functions are also present in my 2019 RC300H F-Sport, with some small additions, which I believe are related to the third-generation Navigation system, which has changed in the meantime (although I preferred the previous one, in terms of graphic clarity, I had on my IS300H MY2017). For example, the new functions also provide the "reporting of speed cameras on the route" just clicking on an icon (displayed at the bottom of the map) by adding them to a sort of database, so that other users could, in turn, see them on the route. As said, this feature appeared with a speed camera symbol in the lower right corner of the MMS display. From the first week of August, I began to notice that the system was struggling to connect to the server, in fact, I was getting a :500 message on the display (from what I know :500 error is related to the server) Furthermore, after these messages have occurred and the car has started to connect to the server again, the speed camera icon at the bottom right has disappeared, and a "SERVICE GONE" message appears on the display a few minutes after being switched on. I assume this is to communicate that this service has been deactivated. Has anyone else experienced the same situation? Do the "old generation" connected services still work well in your area? Or maybe Lexus is turning off the connection to "older" cars? Of course, I contacted Lexus by phone: They told me there was some problem with the new system, but they seemed to not have known that before this actual system, there were the "old" connected services, and they did not provide any info. Thanks for your attention
  4. I have understood the topic talk about how to update the original navigation software, not Apple Car, that the dealer told me, it need be installed (only on certain models, for example in my RC300H is not possible) only via authorized service. I hope someone more expert could confirm it or not.
  5. Hi Marcus, from what I know, the upgrade on NX is possible, but only via an authorized dealer.
  6. Probably it's already known, but I can confirm that in Italy it is not possible to install the upgrade to Apple Car on the RC300H 2019 The Lexus dealer (not a Toyota which also make Lexus service as it is now usual in Italy, since all the historical dealer are going to be dismissed in many regions) where I make all the services on my RC300H, under some pressure I made, have tried several time, the process started but at some point it come up an error. I could just update the maps with the latest version. I't's a pity, I am still not able to appreciate the small graphics of the navigation system. Maybe one day, iOS could support mirrorlink, the only way to see Apple Maps on the screen in this moment.
  7. If you remember, I asked for some information on nanotechnology treatment, for my RC300H. At the end of October I had the treatment done and I would like to report my personal feedback. First of all it must be said that I did not have the treatment done by a detailer, but at a body shop that was, for 20 years, first a historic Lexus dealer and then after the parent company refurbished the sales network, merging Lexus with Toyota (and in Italy this created enormous inconvenience to the "Lexus customers of the old guard") excluding those who did not adhere to "a new showroom design", they continued only as bodywork. That said, I trust them because since the first Lexus IS200 that they bought from them they have proven to be high-level professionals and knowledge for Lexus paint, in fact they have developed a nano treatment area within their facility. The product used is NASIOL ZX53, a product that according to many would be of medium/low level which however really satisfied me, in fact compared to other cars with much more "known" treatments, the yield on my car is incredible and, in my humble opinion really better. Of course the treatment was preceded by decontamination and polishing. After 6 months I can say that this treatment is essential for the protection of the car and I regret not having done it before, thinking about how many cars I have ruined by washing them in an inappropriate way and, above all, not having protected them. Not only did I find a kind of "self-cleaning" effect, the dirt doesn't even get to the surface, but the sheen and brilliance of the color is exceptional. In the evening, a classic Sonic Titanium color effect (which changes tone depending on the light), is highlighted incredibly. There is a very evident "drop" effect, when it rains: the car simply dries up while driving, the effect is truly spectacular. I made it everywhere, in every single detail of the car, except the frontal windshield: here I use just a SOFT99 cleaner that add protection. I notice that bird and insect droppings can be removed immediately only with a jet of water, avoiding that, remaining for a few hours on the surface of the bodywork, they cause damage on the transparent. As for my maintenance routine, the car has never been washed with automatic washes, I perform a pre-wash at commercial washes with only the pressure washer and a specific product from the company Labocosmetica, and then at home I proceed with a wash " rinseless ", completely by hand and then I pass a specific quick detailer to protect and enhance the "sheen". Personally, I really recommend making this investment, which in my humble opinion extends the life of the car, improve the washing process and make the car more beautiful. I add some picture shoot in my garage with artificial light, outside in the night and in the morning during a rainy day. Hope it helps and thanks for your attention.
  8. Mostly of the paintings of Lexus are known for a special “shade” like Sonic Titanium. I saw for the first time that color in Tokyo while I was there for business. Remember that in the morning the color had some shade, in the evening others, in the night totally different. At the time I had a new IS250 basic black, never take care of the paint so it was full of swirls and imperfections. So when I change the car I bought a IS300H Sonic T, again, I was little bit more careful, but did not know how to take care of the paint, but for sure the new paint was totally better tocare than the basic black, when I read the Lexus paint has some “autorepair” property I did not trust, but seeing my IS300H after 4 years of automatic wash at the petrol station, I think the paint for sure hase some properties, I had very few swirls and imperfections and the dealer that take back says “congrats for the care you had for this car”! Now that I know the “detailing world” surely my RC300H is treated aswell as I can do, I am not a professional or an enthusiast, just try to take care every 1/2 weeks by a prewash (alcaline and acid) hand wash, two bucks, decontamination, quick detailer. only with high end products, like Labocosmetica or Carpro, my favorites. Of course inside is the same. Now the car has a normal wax, that last only a month or two, too short time. I would like to bring to a detailer for a nanocoating, but my question is: ”there’s a possibility that the nanocating change the behavior of the original paint?” As Sonic T is not matt, is not gloss, and it has a proper look, this is what I am afraid: to change the beauty of this paint. Any idea from your side? Thanks
  9. I have just try to install form the in-car app, at the moment no money request, it was just dowloaded in a couple of minutes launched and I will start to try. Maybe this is the trial mode, who know? By the way, it look nice, I found the UX is better that the Lexus MMS, graphic is crisp and legible, the design of the app is really cool, for bigger and clearly visible from any angle and light condition. It shows that to do something better, it is possible only by studying design proportions and balance between of the elements of an interface: I am pretty unsure that Lexus UX engineers that work on the MMS knows these statements. Let see how the new infotainment GEN3 will work on the scheduled NX2022 update.
  10. It seems there's something that I don't understand well, maybe @Rabbers you could help me. When I log in into mylexus account (Italy) I can see many apps that, they stated, I have "just purchased" until 2024. As the "apps" are: weather, traffic, park, price of petrol stations, google search and all the usual connected services I had in my previous IS300H MY2017 (that's freely available as a built in function when I log-in through the car to mylexus account) I understood that after 2024 I should buy these service (the price are like 29 one year, 49 two years and so on) OK: this is almost clear for me. I don't know what is Harman Speedcam or InrixtrafficMM17 as it seems these apps are not on my multimedia system. In the list of app, I found also COYOTE and it's stated it last until march 2022 (I read: "you have already bought this app" but I suspect it was "bought" from the dealer, as this RC300H it's a demo car of 2019, that I bought last month. Said all that, when I get the access form the "in car" app, e-store, I can find the COYOTE available and I can download, but above, in the left side of the screen, I see a price 39,99€ Do you know if this makes sense? Thanks a lot.
  11. Yes, @pobrown I really hate the new sat screen, it seems they was not happy to have so much space on 10,3” screen and fill it with a bunch of unuseful info like, just as an example, a big title “NAVIGATION” that require a black background of about 1 cm. all above that cover the map, same at the left side, adding icons that in the previous versions was easy to reach (only at need) with a click. The previous generation was primitive in functions, the new has more features, but doesn’t make sense to decrease the sizes of the font, change them from capital letters to cursive and decrease the readability, that is also dangerous, because it’s almost impossible for the driver read the informations and this could cause a lack of the attention to the road. Also it is really weird the colors of road are almost impossible to see in any condition, I spend some time playing with “luminosity and contrast” just improving little bit the daily version, but night version is almost impossible to read. Nothing to say about the general interface: other functions are interesting and work better than previous, but the nav-sat is, indeed, a big fail. Of course, Apple care is a good improvement, but the impossibility to have in all the range (even paying for, of course) is another aspect that “old guard” owners, like me could really not understand. Againt thanks for your info 🙏🏻
  12. Thanks a lot. So I think the problem rise because I put the for files out of the folder, I thought I have read somewhere (I have to say that info on this procedure is not the same in some sites or videos online -see that the only mention on “activated code” I found only in the Tech documents, but in the Lexus site the did not mention) that they should put out of the folder. Concerning that language? They recognize the system installed? Lastly: any chanche that update could enlarge little bit the font, or almost identifying better the streets and the roads? Theres a “flat appearance” in this maps compated the previous I had on the MY2017 IS300H where letters was big and clear and theres was a high contrast form the background and the path that the car was doing. I also remember that during navigation when you connect to the online services (click on the car icon on the left of the screen just below the compass) the road became larger and of a different color, brighter, with green or yellow color to show you was connected. In this MM it seems that you are always connected but nothing show you are, the road and path are almost invisible. My fault or this is the new way they have conceived? Again, thank you in advance. 🙏🏻
  13. @pobrown thanks for all the knowledge you share. After checking this post I have tryto know more about navigation maps updare and system update on my RC300H MY2018-20 (as reported on the owner specs certificate). As you can see it seems the system and maps aren’t the newupdates. 943, accordingly Lexus-Tech BE-00151L-TME refer to 2018v1 I was subscriber of Lexus Tech since 2017 with the previous IS300H MY2017, but never understand it really how to use the site, so again thanks for your info. I have downloaded both updates following the BE-00006L-TME bulletin (for the maps). Now three questions: 1. the language of the system is updated accordingly the language of the car settings? I need Italian language 2. From your knowledge, it is confirmed that MM17 absolutely could not be updated to Apple Car or Andoid Auto? Even via the dealer service? 3. it is correct that you need the activation code issued by the Lexus Tech site? I saw some videos “how to” from Lexus that they show that map updates is done without any “activation code”, during your update have you been asked for any “activation code” as the BE-00006L-TME bulletin show? To be honest I have another question: Following the instructions I see that it is necessarily to put the four files (nav osr system updates) in “the roots of a Fat32 USB key”. This was done, but when, following the procedures, I put the Fat32 USB key in his slot, the system does not recognize there’s any update to install. As I have a Mac, I suspect that the USB key in some way will be modified, could be possible? I confirm that from the Mac system info the key is shown as Fat32 format. If I put music in it, it is perfectly read by the MM system. Thank you in advance. Cris
  14. I am driving a RC300H since the last month after giving back my IS300H MY2017 for this two years old RC300H, after I was aware that the RC was not longer available in Italy. I talked about my impressions in a post here, I am really happy about the car, little less about the sat-nav system (but I think it's almost common for lot of Lexus owners 😔). By the way, I read here that the "add-location" appear on the back of the screen, and in fact I saw this button, that was not available in the previous MMS on the IS300H, so it' new icon for me. So, is this icon related to Coyote app? To be honest when I go to the store app, in the app menu of the sat-navIf ound the option to buy, I thought it was not installed. Or the "add-location" symbol is a feature of the standard sat- nav system? Thanks
  15. First of all, excuse me in advance for my English, in these cases, the use of a couple of online translators to support my lack of knowledge of English terms is very useful. I find myself writing the first post in this section because after four IS, I have now switched to an RC. My first IS was an IS200 Sportcross, I think it was the best Lexus ever owned, after a few years I switched to the IS250: it was a total change, and therefore being fascinated by the design and the technological and safety upgrade that Lexus implemented with that total change of the IS platform, I decided to change. The same happened with the first IS300H: I waited for the hybrid all that time, eventually, it also came for IS and it led me to a total change in my approach to driving. The last one I had until a month ago was an IS300H MY2017 which marked a technological and detailed improvement compared to the first version. At home, we also have a CT MY2018, still a very good car. At the end of my payment plan, as always, I found myself in the dilemma of keeping, changing, returning the car. The big problem, as read here: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/125809-isctrc-discontinued-in-uk-and-europe/#comments Is that Lexus has canceled the IS, RC, CT range for the Italian and European markets If this had not happened, I think I would have ordered the new IS300H recently presented, but this has not happened, because, in the end, I decided to buy a RC300H The path that led me to this was a little complicated because I had to thought a lot. The dealer wanted to sell me an ES at all costs, but this car, after careful analysis, even if beauty, was not open to me: too big, too "old" (although I'm not a kid, that type of car didn't make me feel well when I tried) therefore I have also looked for alternatives at other dealers, I am lucky to have three dealers at a few tens of km. from my village. One thought immediately struck me: why not completely change the paradigm? Why not try a sportier car that still lets me experience a "real" Lexus? This thought led me to study the history of Lexus in the field of sports cars, I started from LF-A, then LFA, then LF-CC, and LF-LC to understand that the line from which RC was born is inherited from those beautiful designs,I realized this even more when during the wash I caught myself looking at the car from the side. I can say that this convinced me, the idea of an RC, in the F-SPORT configuration (I've always had the "luxury" version) was taken. Defined that it was impossible to get it now as a new car, I was lucky enough to find a 2019 DEMO car with 7000 km. Sonic Titanium, full optional, sunroof, and Mark Levinson who since the first IS have been mandatory for me, I had seen one from 2000 with almost km. zero, but without ML and a sunroof I wouldn't have taken it, in a compact passenger compartment like that of the LC, without a sunroof I felt a little "oppressed". It is my first “used” Lexus: I confess that the choice was not easy. but I had decided, after the test drive I fell in love, returned my perfect four-year-old IS300H, and got on the new RC. I feel ready, after a month, to give some impressions, which can be interesting, because as a calm and relaxed driver, I found myself more dynamic and had fun driving a car. IMPRESSIONS ON THE RC300H: DESIGN AND DRIVING The design convinces me in every single detail, I can consider it a classic. The heritage of the LFA and LC is breathed in well, the F-SPORT version in my opinion is the best. A car that still makes people looking at: I think a Lexus owner is also looking for a certain exclusivity. I realized that when Lexus in Europe changed its commercial strategy, investing only in what the market commands (SUVs and MIni-SUVs) it lost a certain exclusivity. The driving is dynamic: it is easy to understand the difference in chassis, suspension, the set-up: before driving an RC I did not understand any of these things, the IS300H was a quiet car, which drove itself, a little bit "boring"? Maybe. The RC made me understand that yes can still enjoy driving a car, which I had kind of forgotten with hybrid IS300H I have nothing to say about these aspects, I am very happy. Here the consumption aspect also comes into play: in my opinion, the RC consumes more than the IS. With IS I had an average consumption of 6.5/100 while with RC I absolutely cannot go below 7.5/100 I realized that the RC, in "normal" mode, is the same as the IS in "SPORT" mode” I, therefore, think that this is the point: a more dynamic, more reactive and therefore more expensive calibration. I notice that while with the IS the electric mode is activated with a certain frequency with the RC it is activated less. Ok, this doesn't change my life, but it should be noted. SAFETY It seems to me that the RC MY2018 / MY2020 (as it appears written in the registration document) has substantially the same preventive safety system as the IS, I think that some aspects have changed and improved in the calibration of the cruise control and pedestrian detection systems: I find the very smooth adaptive cruise control acceleration, more fluid than the IS300H TECHNOLOGY AND MULTIMEDIA For me the weak point of all Lexus. The car has the Multimedia with the software updated to 2018 or the so called "second generation" which is substantially identical to the 2019/20 version with the difference that it does not support APPLE CAR or ANDROID CAR and I do not think it is even upgradeable: if someone know something about it, please let me know. The real problem with this multimedia system is the navigation system, I think that if Lexus could have done worse than the previous one, it has succeeded, in fact, I am sure that the version we have in Europe is perhaps one of the worst ever made. In fact, in Japan they updated the speed of the software, they modernized it: but they rigorously kept the graphics as in the 2017 version, that is, readable, clear, understandable. Attention, I am not referring to aspects such as music, Bluetooth management, climate, and other functions of the car that I find well configured, but to the actual navigation. The screen, although it is 10.3 inches, has been reduced considerably, bringing a black frame all around by more than a centimeter, which makes no sense other than to reduce the space of the maps: they used this space to add unuseful titles like "Navigation" and so on, meaningless. This forced Lexus to shrink the font size of the streets name, cities, information and it is not possible to enlarge them, furthermore, they have surrounded them with a white "outline", which confuses them with the background: basically, everything is illegible, the night version is even worst. Of course, there are some improvements: the system automatically connects to the "my lexus" profile when you switch on, allows a dynamic update of traffic conditions, weather conditions, etc. whereas before it was a bit difficult to configure the connected services. But be careful: I have discovered that after three years the connected service packages expire and must be purchased. One bad thing, previously Lexus offered those packages included forever, now you need pay for them after three years. The cost is not high, it is about € 20 per year (while other brand are so much expensive) but it is still something that reduce the "plus" that old Lexus owner will remember so well and that the new owners, don't know. I summarize my impression by saying that in trying to enter more information, and to update their technology, they created confusion on the screen, I am quite tech-savvy and have had no problem, in an hour, figuring out how to best use the multimedia system, but I believe those who are less accustomed find it very complicated to extricate themselves in the maze of the settings, but above all the navigation screen is a well-defined example of what should not be done: confusion, information that is not immediately evident, slowness, illegibility. I believe that if I could use Apple Car in my RC I would certainly have switched to Google, Apple, or Waze maps: clear, dynamically updated, legible, and functional, note also that the car is not updated to use the Lexus link application which here in Italy only works with NX and UX. CONCLUSIONS I am very happy, despite the multimedia system that has greatly disappointed me, I find the RC a truly special car. I like the chassis set-up, the feeling of steering that reacts to the slightest touch, I love driving it, I would never get off if I could, I like the interior design which is like the IS, but with an extra touch of modernity. It made me savor the heritage of Lexus sports cars and made me understand that the choice to stay in Lexus was the right one. We will see in the future, in four years when the financing plan will expire if the next step will be that of an electric Lexus, but for now, I believe that, at the moment, the Lexus Hybrid Synergy Drive is the best choice ever. Thank you for your patience in reading my impressions.
  16. The trend of miniSUV, Crossover, mid-size SUV is so strong even in Italy. The most seen are Hyundai, Kia (low prices, design copycat and Diesel) they are the most commons. Then, Nissan Qasqai and some little Kuga. NX good, UX increasing. Sedans or wagon and of course coupè about disappeared if we talk new cars. If we talk Audi or BMW or Mercedes the most commonly is that big crossover mix from a sedan and a SUV and smalls: A class or Series 1 So the trend, in any way exclude Lexus in the taste of Italians, as it result from a couple of dealer I have visiting in the last few months, that customers want the most cheaper NX or UX, they search bargains, demo cars, used and so on. Mostly of the customers come after few weeks disappointing about the drive, and the engine: at the moment of purchase some ask where is the plug for the charge. Lot of confusion. But here in Italy Lexus do nothing to explain, engage, and so on.
  17. Yes, but it was the same for the phew's now even in my lost village in the hills where I live, we have several point of charge.
  18. By the way, are we sure Toyota/Lexus would really move toward full electric vehicles so soon? Listen what Mr. Toyoda said I will not be so sure. https://observer.com/2020/12/toyota-akio-toyoda-electric-vehicle-japan-transition/ I understood they are investing in this PHEW's, but that they don't believe so much in them as a unique strategy for the future of Toyota (and probably Lexus). Remember that the Mirai (introduced in 2015) is actually very interesting, sales number in USA are not so big. but about 1500 cars in 2019 and 500 in 2020 in full pandemic was not bad. I don't have numbers in Japan, but everytime I go there, I see lot of them around. Said all that, after several research, thinking a lot and reading lot of discussion on other hybrid tech from other manufacturers, reading also the opinions here about Telsa, that change mu mind about it, I am now very convinced that actually Hybrid Synergy Drive is the best technology that it worth to have in this particular moment and for almost the next three/four year, when probably we will definitely discover what Lexus have reserved for us.
  19. In the end, I think the long history of changing my car ended well. Since yesterday I am the owner of a 2019 RC300H F-SPORT with sunroof and Mark Levinson sound system, in Sonic Titanium color. After several evaluations, I did not feel like buying an ES, although it was a new car (while this car is a DEMO car with 7500 km. That the dealer offered me) the size and the type have withheld me: it's true, I love sedans, and this was a fact that I have always expressed, but I felt "old" behind the wheel of the ES. Let me be clear I am not young and in a few years I will reach 60 years! But when I sat inside the RC300H, I felt at home. I've never had a coupe car, I never thought I'd like the RC300H's more dynamic approach than the IS300H I owned (mind you: I kinda regretted leaving it at the dealer, it was a car I really loved) and I liked the fact that it was technically a little more up to date. At the moment the feedback is very positive, I feel good in there. I have always dreamed and loved the LFA and the LF-CC which remind me a little of the design of this coupe, I think, as a design enthusiast that the current cars (NX, UX, and ES) have lost some of the L-Finesse philosophy. I collect old brochures and pictures about the LFA and the LF-CC and really, I think that design (although very dated!) Was phenomenal and still is today, I also believe that the interiors of the IS300H and RC300H are among the most beautiful. Only note, at the moment, I find that the multimedia system is very good and with more functions than that of my 2017 IS, but I find it very senseless that the size of the map has been reduced, adding a frame of 1 cm. all around, just to insert some rather useless writing. However, the screen has a better resolution and the system has more features, I'll get used to it, the same with the touchpad: I was worried, but in the end, I immediately start to use it easily. I have always felt a bit far from the F-Sport concept, and I chose this version over the Business version because it offered many more options, but I must say that in this RC300H the F-Sport version is very classic and very minimalist despite its sporty look. Also, here this model was very are to be seen, I think in many years I never saw one (while every day I saw many NX and UX), and to be honest, I think a Lexus customer is also seeking some exclusivity. I will keep you updated on other feedback. Thank you for all the topic posts.
  20. In Italy they give it. Every time the aperitif, some time the lunch. The experience in the show room was amazing in the early 2000's. When you enter the showroom, somebody welcome and smile at you with kindness, you receive a glass of Prosecco or a soft drink (same of the Omotesando dealer that I visite for ten years during my trip in Tokyo, even if I go there just to see the car, they always offer me drink, gifts and a person at my side explaining all the detail of every single car I stand in the front). The driving test in my hometown, I remember, ending in a small restaurant to eat together the owner (she was a Lady) and the sales guy. But not only, it was all the experience that was totally different from any other car I have bought. The car price offer was made talking relaxed in the front of a screen with a spreadsheet when other brads offer was compared, number by number, with the Lexus you choose... it always ended up that if you wanted to have the same stuff of your IS on a BMW you had to spend 20/30% more. I still remember the two column: BMW 320 - LEXUS IS200 Dealer: "do you want the leather seat?" Customer: "yes" Dealer: OK, let's input BMW column: 2000€ LEXUS COLUM: included And so on. This was I still remember of my first IS200 Sport Back purchase experience. This system last about until 2005, when they start to quit all the exclusive dealers, ceased all the "Lexus experience" and include Lexus into the existing Toyota dealership Now in the major of Italian dealers: you enter a confused showroom when Lexus car often are mixed up with Toyota commercial van, a bored Toyota employee receive you, without a smile. You have to wait stand up, until someone take care of you. The mechanics, generally know very well the Yaris, so when you see them put their hand on your IS you start to sweat. Lunch? No more. Maybe a coffe from the vending machine. And so on. So now if they send me a survey, I classified as spam.
  21. Well done! I do the same too, writing to the Italian Lexus branch. I have reported the answers they give me in this topic, some pages ago. In my opinion their answer was almost clear: there's not interest in customers, like us, that would like to drive the IS or the RC (or just a sedan on that category) as in EU and in the UK they sell almost only SUV, people want SUV, people like SUV, sedans are for old fashioned people. The answer they give to this market is: more SUV, less sedan! A wrong policy in my opinion, but it seems they don't care. Very sad.
  22. To be honest I am not so tired, it is not easy to find a car like the IS in the market and this one is the best than any other IS I had (if we exclude the IS200 Sport Cross, my favorite ever) it's more that I like the new technology offered by the ES300H, like the HUD, a more functional and modern battery pack, a new design of the interiors, the TFT instead the Optitron instruments and so on. My IS300H is like new so it can last another 20 years I thought! My friend drove a RX300 of the first generation with 600.000 km. and just had normal service a couple of time per year, he just change last year with the new one, but just because there was discount offered by the government for hybrid cars. Options I have are three: • give back the car and pay nothing • give back the car and buy a new one, without pay the last installment • pay the last installment and keep the car (they also allowed to pay the last installment in another 12/24 moths if need: this add more interest to pay, but if one does not want to pay a couple of tenth of Euros in one solution, it can be worth) Let see, I have a couple of months more to decide 😉
  23. I like the ES and I was considering at the beginning, for me it's not a big problem for the rear seat... but what make me in stand by is the price for the luxury version and the fact that I read of unsatisfied customer about the interiors quality and other issues: slow car, not so good suspensions (floaty) and so on. Unfortunately there' no way to know if their problems was due to their car only of for all the ES. As my Pay per Drive end in May, the dealer is trying to convince me to buy the ES as they said they want I stay in Lexus (I ma 14 years customers) and offer some discount and so on... I have not decide yet, I am pushing them to make a huge discount, it's not my decision if they withdrawn the IS. But honestly I would not buy another brand. In case of not buying the ES I will pay the final payment and keep the iS, and sit down to see what happens in the last few years, all the movement around EV's is very interesting. It seems Audi and other Germans are working hard to have a selection to offer, here in Italy they are investing a lot in ad's and communication of the incoming models, there's also Tesla and others that in a couple of years could improve, so the offer will be more wider in the very close future.
