  2. Funnily enough mine is due in for an MOT in the next week or so, I’m using my local garage, but they won’t be pulling any punches in terms of passing etc. I’ll let you guys know how it gets on. Not expecting any issues though as it’s still very clear what I’m doing with the smoked finish (braking, turning, hazards etc).
  3. Brake Caliper Specialists (BCS). See their site here: https://www.bcs-automotive.co.uk/ These guys do work for high end dealers as well as private jobs. If they are good enough for the likes of McLaren, they are good enough for me! Lol.
  4. Spooky! Lol. I highly recommend BCS, we made a weekend of it when I had mine done. Stayed up there, did some shopping, came back. The guys turned it around super quick, and were really nice to deal with. They hadn’t seen an ISF before, but were very complimentary about the car. Not cheap, but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Agree 100% on the rear lights. Here’s hoping we have the same result with the fronts. 👍😎
  5. Hi Dan, Or just get your existing Brembo’s re-finished in a nice orange colour? BCS did a great job on mine. Been over a year with no issues whatsoever. You can buy the decals like the ones on the RCF/GSF as well I believe? Sure someone did this in the States a while back... How are you liking your VLAND’s? Look good. 👍😎
  6. Morning All, So Lee has confirmed he simply needs to plug in the Techstream system (Toyota diagnostic tool everyone including the dealerships use) and run a health check on the ECU. That’s it for now. Lee offered to come to you Steve if that’s easier? He reckons it won’t take long at all. Also, Lee confirmed plan may be to have Rafi provide SRD/customers with the maps, and SRD would do the uploading and dyno test for us. They have Techstream already, so no need for the handheld controllers for you guys. Apparently like with the GTR’s, the IS-F at least can’t be live tuned, has to be flashed.   7. Hi Steve, That's brilliant! Let me message Lee today for more details for you. I am under the impression they literally want to plug in their OBD 2 reader and check to see if they can access the ECU. They won't be changing anything or doing any work that could cause issues or CEL's etc. It's just a yes they can or no they can't exercise. I'll be in touch shortly to confirm though Steve.   8. Yes please Dan. Cash flow could be an issue if it's this side of Xmas, but guess it depends on how many takers and when we actually need to pay? I also got the impression from the US site that these haven't been officially released yet, but will be in late November or December..... I am up for a set though if we can drum up enough interest mate.
  9. Hey Stu, All depends on what supporting modifications are done alongside the tune. You’d need to do exhaust, or headers or both along with a tuned intake to see good improvements. An IS-F with these and a tune should be around 60-80 whp up on stock, with around 50-60 torque gained. Think the RC-F would gain a little more, as it’s improved over the IS-F. The weight difference would hinder it though...

  11. The VLAND headlights look the same at the bottom to me? I’ve had my headlights out a few times over the years, so should be fine. 👍😎 Any chance you can do some digging Dan? If they are compatible, can your source offer these to us? I’d be up for a set of the headlights (already have the smoked rears as you know). Just thinking might boost numbers if they can. 😉👍
  12. Correct. You buy the handheld device, plus the map from RR-Racing. If you add more to your car, they can send you a new map to factor in the additional modifications for an additional fee. I doubt SRD would want to map just a handful of IS-F’s, especially after RR-Racing have done all the R&D, testing on their maps. Lee would be the best person to ask (I can check for you?) though. This check is to see if the early RC-F’s can be accessed to upload a new map, won’t actually be adding or changing the OEM settings.
  13. In theory, but RR-Racing already offer the remaps for the IS-F. I think this is a joint project with RR-Racing, so not sure if they would be willing to do them mate. Happy to ask as an aside if you want?
  14. Evening All, Lee Perryman at SRD has asked if I can find a volunteer to pop in to see them with a 2015 or 2016 RC-F that they can plug in to see whether the ECU can be re-programmed.... Lee thinks it will take no more than 30mins, but would be a huge help to see if they can be remapped or not. The workshop is in Haywards Heath. Let me know please folks. Thanks, Pete 👍😎

  16. Hey, Seats are Cobra Misano Anniversary edition with the carbon backs. Had them custom finished with blue stitching to match the rear seats. Steering wheel is from Elvin in Singapore. It’s based off a stock 2IS one that he has reworked with the carbon and F badge etc.

  20. 300ZX was my first true Japanese performance car. Bought a U.K. model in red at 19yrs old. Cost me my whole pay cheque each month to cover the insurance and fuel! Lol. 😂😂😂 Loved it though. Was a T-bar model as well, so roofs out in the summer was wicked fun. Also had a nice MR2 G-Limited auto, a Nissan Sunny 1.6 ZX Coupe, Impreza WRX Classic, Altezza which was also rare, tuned by Yamaha like the IS F. Love my Japanese cars, each for different reasons. 😎
  21. Me. Only two cars I would consider moving to from the IS F, this (lifetime member, used to support three that raced in Time Attack, owned 5/6 in various spec’s), and the R34 GTR. Both are rapidly climbing well above the £30K bracket, and show no signs of coming down anytime soon. The MK4 was and still is a great car in so many ways. The tunability and strength of that 2JZ-GTE engine is unreal. Don’t know of any other engine that can support close to triple it’s original horsepower without needing to be ripped apart and forged.......?? Problem is they are getting old, so restoration costs need to be factored in. Bushings will likely be shot, rust on the rare U.K. models will be an issue, subframes and diffs could need rebuilding.... biggest issue is parts availability, especially with the Getrag 6-speed manual gearbox. You simply can’t find new parts off the shelf anymore. I’m loving the move away from lairy bodykits, for me the Supra needs very little cosmetic enhancements, it’s a great looking car in stock form. Giving the heart a bypass with a nice build and single turbo kit on the other hand is all good in my opinion. 😉😎

Not sure if folks have ever read his bio? http://blog.rr-racing.com/news/company/ Guy is seriously talented, and has the degrees and experience to back it up. I’m reasonably technically minded, but freely admit it’s a self taught hobby. When I have spoken to Rafi, he clearly works on a higher level than I do.
  23. Hey Nick, Happy to help where I can. It’s nice to see a few taking steps into the modified scene, as it can be pretty lonely and sole destroying when you’re doing something on your own. Biggest gripe would be the added costs. Whilst there are now plenty of mods to choose from thanks to the big names in the States, there aren’t many tuners around who know our cars. Result being higher fitting and setup costs due to not having clear guides or experience working with the cars. Lee Perryman and the team at SRD tuning in West Sussex are I believe the most experienced tuner now for the IS F having tackled a host of jobs on my car. They did the USRS, changed the suspension, fitted performance manifolds/headers, supercharger kit, and my annual service. Can’t rate or thank them enough. Being Toyota lovers, they enjoy working on my car because it’s different to the usual big power Supra’s and GTR’s they see most days. Ian at H&S is a top guy. He’s been a pleasure to work with, and I don’t have any complaints or issues with my system or experience with him. I know others aren’t as lucky, but anything hand made is always a bigger gamble. Take my ceramic coated tips. The finish went funny not that long after I had it fitted. Despite being a part H&S outsourced for me, Ian asked me to bring it back, fitted temporary tips so it didn’t look odd or damage my carbon diffuser, and sent them off to be recoated at no charge. I know a few have gone with other manufacturers with good results, so maybe try and do a club meet at some point to see/hear a few to decide what you like? I try to help with costs by bringing some smaller bits back when I travel to the States on business, or add things if I am getting something bigger sent over (did a group buy for the USRS a while back). Exhausts are tricky though. The big Japanese brands are lovely, but size means you have to eat a lot of import tax, VAT and shipping costs. The worry I had was if they go wrong. Not something you want to try sending back as a warranty claim! Would cost a fortune!! 😳😱
  24. I don’t disagree. Way I saw it was preventative maintenance for a moderate cost. The resevoir doesn’t actually hold a great deal of oil, nor do I empty it very often. Usually once a quarter, and even then it’s maybe half full? Clearly not an issue given there are plenty of examples on 200K+ without one fitted, so it’s a personal choice. 👍😊
