  1. Sorry forgot you were from Yorkshire Rayaans. That explains a lot. RichyRich, just be. aware that my the mpg on my IS drop by 2-3 mpg in the winter, I expect the same from the Nx. It hit 26 deg c here last week.
  2. Rayaans, thanks for your constructive feedback. Can I ask if you, like me, have run an IS300h FSport with AVS for 80000 miles? You seem to have links to someone in Lexus which appears to make you knowledgeable to people but I am doubting your ability to actually drive. Seems to me you are probably the old Lexus demographic that specs all the options and then potters down to the golf club. Anyhow by all means call BS but I thought the forum was for sharing positive comments.
  3. So after a Mon-Fri test drive (lease company) in an NX300h FSport 400 miles of motorway, A, B and smaller road I managed 36.9 mpg according to the trip computer (yes I know not as accurate as brim to brim but I'm not that anal). I was being very careful but making good progress, 75-80 on the mway and speed limit elsewhere. Lovely driving position, great headlights (unlike my FSport IS), and just a nice place to be. I did sit in a Luxury though and prefer the seats in that' although I've always had sports seats, maybe I'm getting old. Anyway back in my IS300h FSport today and averaging 43 mpg and not hanging around over similar routes. Hope this helps. I went into the Lexus dealer this week, where I looked at the luxury model, actually to confirm if a roof rack can be fitted with the panoramic roof. Comments on this forum say not and I tend to believe the forum over dealers. The dealer inevitably reckoned it was possible but is actually going to order some in and try them! Hope this helps.
  4. Sounds like you haven't owned a Lexus with AVS DJP, either that or you just don't push your cars hard enough. After 80k miles in my IS300 FSport I still feel a marked difference between Sport and Sport+. The steering and suspension are just so much more connected. Just trying out an Nx FSport and it definitely has a harsher ride than my IS in normal despite higher profile tyres so I can only presume that it is the AVS working its magic. If I go for the NX then AVS is a must. However 37mpg is not promising nor the sat nav is ludicrously expensive. At least you get memory seats thrown in in the IS! The importers are idiots. Does anyone know if you can fit 'gutter' type roof bars like the IS ones on an NX with a pano roof? Simon
  5. As per Colin. No identifiers from outside the car. Unbelievable ride considering the rubber band tyres, and the handling in Sport+ is really good, noticeably so over standard. The only gripe I have is that I would like to be able to set the suspension to sport and the power train to normality as some times I find the power delivery in sport a little jerky.
  6. Elmsfield Bob, I also get the echo (most times), very annoying that a 2014 model suffers this basic issue. The voice control is infuriating. Both seamless in a Mercedes. How can the Japanese get tech so wrong. The sat nav is like going back to Donkey Kong Jr after playing Gran Turismo 6. Re-routing engine poor also. Not enough DAB presets and not enough DAB song info shown. I could go on.
  7. Brettster, complete ignorance on my part but how does the sat nav know to reroute around traffic. I don't have hotspot enabled. I sometimes get an announcement such as "broken down vehicle 1 mile ahead" or "queuing traffic 1 mile ahead".
  8. F-sport. 42mpg for the first 2000 miles now up to 45mpg after 6000 miles according to the computer - being fairly sensible on motorways mostly. Just did 1200 miles with a roof box on and averaged 35mpg, mostly Autoroute and some mountains. Will definitely check out alternate tyres when the time comes so thanks for the tip. I wonder why Lexus thought it necessary to fit 255's at the rear. Seems excessive.
  9. Just driven to the Alps and back, no beeping as I presume that the mapping data is legally compliant with French law. Still can't see what all the fuss is with beeping, it's hardly loud although each to their own. As for sticking a Tom Tom on the windscreen, forget it, what a backward step. If you can't afford the Lexus nav then too bad, not that it's perfect of course.
  10. 6 weeks in and mine has now frozen twice in a week! Still on version B. Thought I'd got away with it. Strangely the mpg in the instrument display continued to change but on the central MMI the trip and energy display was frozen. Sat nav was 'alive' and I could change radio stations, the menu didn't work though.
  11. Thanks DJP, hope there's a more sophisticated answer than headlight covers! I'd be surprised if all new number plates don't have GB on them. I'm think mine are offset to the left but I may be wrong, in fact I would prefer a little more reach on dipped bean on the straight ahead.
  12. Anyone know if the headlights need adjusting for driving on the continent? Got my Merc Xenons centred whilst they serviced it and just left them at that when I got back to the UK.
  13. Unsurprisingly 35 section tyres struggle with the disgraceful state of our Britsh roads, at least the chancellor's getting less of my tax money to fritter away on anything but repairing them properly. In the meantime I can't get over how AVS just deals with this conundrum, it's amazing. Not sure I can actually tell any difference between sport and sport+ mind, although the steering feels a bit meatier, 'gearbox' change points the same as far as I can see. Gonna have to have some serious fun benchmarking the difference.
  14. Agree with DJP., the reroute also seems a bit off as I know that sticking out a bit of a queue on the M25 at a heathrow is quicker than crawling through Staines, even without the floods. The rest of the post is tosh as usual.
  15. Correction, wash wipe is automatic, just need to pull the stalk back for longer as it were. Got both rear view mirrors to dip on selection of reverse now which is great. Not sure why the parking sensors need an indicator light on the dash but the yellow passenger airbag light that's always on is annoying. Anyone know how to turn it off, might resort to some black insulation tape! Had a blast in Sport + today. Fantastic. Servicing is 10k for private users, 12.5k for business. Reflects short versus long journeys.
