Hi all, I've got bonnet struts on my 300 Sportcross, (its as I bought it), but I'm not happy with the fitting which uses a bracket off the wing bolt. Even though it's tightened it moves when opening the bonnet. The initial lift isn't smooth at all so maybe the struts are past it but have any of you guys bought any decent replacelmet kits lately. I notice some of the kits on ebay fit to a bolt hole on the suspension strut top 🤔 Anyone got this set up and does it open up the bonnet smoothly. So what have you got / can recomend. Thanks in advance.

If car companies are prepared to defraud emissions regulations across the world I have no doubt they will ride rough shod over mine or yours GDPR, on the basis you might or might not ticked a box, possibly, maybe. In fact I'd be surprised if they weren't recording all sorts of data.

Given all used prices spiked up about 2 years ago they are just starting to drop back since Christmas, some dropping by 10% 15%. So leveling out a bit but ISF still more than they were say 5 years ago. 🤔

I was curious so just checked with Lexus and these tips are now £686 each side. Last time il looked they were around £440 and that doesn't seem that long ago. So what's the going second hand rate as I've got a pair I ought to move on as I sold my ISF a while ago.

Bought it just yesterday although I've had my eye on for a couple of years. I missed it when up for sale in 2021 then spotted it for sale again in November 2022. Last couple of owners have been enthusiasts but the latest guy couldnt justify the occasional use. He quickly got fed up with tyre kickers wanting something to ferry the kids about and offering silly money so decided he was keeping it by the time I contacted him but we kept in touch 🙂 It's solid with 60k miles a mine now. 👌

Did a Sportcross meet up ever happen? Or any series 1 200 300 meet ups happening? I've just this beautiful thing as a weekend toy so need weekend trips to justify it 🙂

Try Nippon Auto Spares in Derby. Jap car breakers. They broke a written off ISF some time ago and I had the exhaust tips off the back bumper and it went back on the pile. Most of the other panels sold quickly and the engine and gearbox went to Saudi Arabia if I remember rightly. Worth a ring.

That's interesting, and a small price to pay to keep on the right side of any future claim. However what if I bought your car. I wouldn't know if it was factory tinted or not so would reasonably have nothing to declare 🤔 That would be an interesting argument with the insurance assessor

Another vote for Lexus Derby from me. Although I live in Derby I've always had good service and wouldn't go anywhere else. Funnily enough they always offered to come and pick up my ISF from home for its service. 😅

Is the tow bar a genuine lexus item?? Any photos of it or how it fits would be useful.

It's such a shame that rust in this area can be the financial end to a good series 1 IS. Ironically it must me down to water ingress from the inspection panel in the wheel arch causing the rot from the inside out. Once visible on the outside its getting too late. 😓

Given that electric vehicles are a green washing PR exercise until other liquid fuels can efficiently propel the internal combustion engine the question is will there be a scrapage scheme for redundant EV's in 5 to 10 years? 🤔 So "will electric cars be the new dieslegate" Yes, I fully expect so if there are still lawyers wanting to earn a living. 🤷‍♂️😉

What was the 86130-53M70 in ?? I've just bought a 2013 IS250 F Sport, (the 2.5V6 petrol) and wonder it everything else apart from power train is the same as the 300h.
