  1. I got exactly the same service from Stoke when I bought my ex demo IS300h 8 years ago. when I queried them they said I didn’t ask Never been back to them. ☹️
  2. Welcome to LOC by the way. The predicted range figures are a bit like MPG figures and never accurate and always look better than they are. I think the WLTP figure means Would Like To Predict! I have not tried to charge mine via the Chademo yet. At least when you get used to having to charge frequently its a nice drive. As you are in Greater London, perhaps you can take some solace from the fact that it is electric with a poor range and charging speed so may be less likely to be stolen. Enjoy Paul
  3. That sounds about the same as me. It’s an Urban eXplorer so not designed to travel long distances. As a rule of thumb I half the shown range with air con on to work out when I need to charge. Which in effect means a range of 100 miles from fully charged or realistically 50 miles from home. What miles per kWhr are you getting? I am currently 2.7 but was up to 4 in summer. Higher speeds use more electric. The only thing you can do about it is plan a route to charge on the go at services or to buy a petrol hybrid.
  4. I would be interested to know what you decide. We have a landline that we don’t use and no one phones now my mother is not with us except the nice man from Amazon saying there is a problem with my account. 🙃 We have fiber to the house from BT for broadband. I am not sure if you need a land line and line rental for the broadband or if you can just have broadband on fiber and use mobiles for voice calls. If you did get rid of the land line, who would you have to tell?
  5. I had my car serviced a few days ago. How long until the maintenance history in the app is updated with the recent service (if I am lucky)?
  6. On a similar note, I recognize that the software in the app is poor, but the auto dimming headlights software is pretty complex but it seems to work. So they must have some good software engineers.
  7. The only thing you are missing is the frustration in trying to get anything else to work. 🙃
  8. Does it use the normal stopping brakes or the “hand brake”? I think it still illuminates the brake lights so no point in using it to stop brake light dazzle at night. Tried it as a novelty when new but don’t bother now. I was worried that it may do some damage by pulling away with the brakes still on momentarily.
  9. At a guess from similar experience with a Jazz. The auto stop start was disabled due to a low 12 v battery charge. Why it was not fully charged after a long run I don’t know. Perhaps it was cold, but if it is the original battery and 9 years old, perhaps it’s time for a new one. Stick some jump leads in the car for peace of mind on your long journey.
  10. I did use Toyota to look at the brakes when they were binding on my IS as it was nearer than taking it to Lexus. Work done no problem and even logged in the Lexus computerised maintenance history, but it was not a service. Lexus Chester take you car down to the Skoda workshop to do the servicing 🙃
  11. It’s one app many different cars, which is probably part of the problem. What the app can do differs from car type to car type. I have just noticed the Climate Schedule, but don’t have the Lock/Unlock or Hazard Lights options. version 2.4.2 (134) iPhone.
  12. What more do you want the app to do? It tells you the battery %, if it is charging and how long to charge It allows you to remote start the climate to warm up and defrost the car (but not the wing mirrors). It tells you your car is parked next door, when it is due a service and a limited description of what work was done. It tells you how bad your driving is by giving you an EV score for each trip.
  13. Mine has the track pad too. Page 129 of the SatNav manual You can adjust treble mid and bass and also front to back and side to side. Navi PZ471-76323-EN.pdf
  14. I knew the range was poor but it didn't bother me at the time, I was too interested in trying an EV for myself. I mainly did short trips to and from work (in stop start traffic with killed the MPG of the IS) There were free charges at work My mum had just died so I wanted to treat myself It seemed a good price at the time I wanted to try the ML sound system There was always my sons petrol Jazz on the drive to borrow whist he was at uni for the next two years if we needed to go longer distance. As it turns out I am no longer working (early retirement), so more leisure trips but no chargers at destination. The chargers at work were less than half the speed of the wall box at home. I am now stuck with a car that is worth less than the GFV in 2 years time. The ML does't sound that much better than the old sound system. It's an SUV which my son hates. So to sum up, Its a nice car and fills my needs but just doesn't feel special like the IS did. I haven't got used to the short range in winter yet or been brave enough to try public charging. Just to be clear it is the pre facelift model with the lower range Any tips on how to beat the range anxiety? Paul
  15. Hi, Enjoy your new UX300e. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the ES. I came from an IS and it is different. I can’t make up my mind if I like it or not. I haven’t got round the range anxiety yet. Currently on a full charge it says about 160 miles range, but in the real world that means about 100 so can’t travel any further than 50 miles from home. Haven’t tried public charging yet. see thread on ML set up here Enjoy Paul
  16. I don’t think I drive slower, just more relaxed, happy to waft along and let the others rush by on their way to work. They must have great jobs that they are so keen to get there. I’m happy sitting in my Lexus listening to my favorite music and go with the traffic.
  17. Yep, sounds like the 12v battery is on the way out. Book it into a Lexus dealer to get it replaced. It’s not the sort you can buy off the shelf from Halfords. There are cases where replacing the battery has blown the radio so best let Lexus do it. It won’t be covered under warranty. Take it for a drive and don’t leave it in neutral with the radio on. Happy New Year Paul
  18. My experience in my UX300e is similar to James above. I have never used a public charger and charge at home thus effectively meaning that I can only go 50 miles from home in winter. Occasionally I have charged at work but that was very slow compared to my home 7kw charger. Lexus EV are great for short trips but if you need to go further afield hire a petrol car. I think at the moment a plug in hybrid is the best option. I find there are no public chargers at my destination so would need to stop again just to charge every 100 miles.
  19. Could you raise the front of the car up eg by parking on a scaffold plank propped up on a brick to make a small ramp for the front wheels?
  20. Just one thing to think about, if it spends a lot of time not being driven the 12v battery can go flat, so consider a trickle charger. Otherwise a great car when you get used to how to drive a hybrid. Have a great Christmas and welcome to LOC.
  21. The problem with the Lexus Link + app is that it is all things to all men, women and small fury creatures from Alpha Centuri. One app, many cars with many options. For me and my UX300e, it can tell me the battery % and if charging when it may be full. It can remote defrost when it’s cold, tells me when a service is due if I don’t know already, and can give me a score for EV coaching. That’s about all I use it for and wouldn’t ask any more of it. Paul
  22. I have the dot in the centre, just behind the middle. Base +1, Treble -1. With your wired set up, where do you plug the cable in and does it look tidy? I notice some of the newer albums say lossless on Apple music. Is this automatic or is there a setting to enable lossless? I've not played with Car Play apart from today just to test. The graphics looked a bit basic on the big screen. Thanks Paul
