  1. Hi, Just wondered how people listen to music in their cars? What is the best way to get the most out of the sound system? I tend to use Apple Music via Wireless Bluetooth, but also have a USB stick with old CDs on. Not that impressed with the sound quality although it seemed better playing Classical music than Thrash Metal. There seems to be something called miracast, does anyone use this, or do you use apple CarPlay etc. What is you method of connecting up to listen to music ? Paul
  2. Doctor, Doctor, I’ve got a steering wheel down my trousers! Does it hurt? Yes, it’s driving me nuts! I’ll get my coat……
  3. The paddles may be useful if you want to keep a higher “gear” to provide engine braking when going down a long steep hill. EV mode, if you want to move the car without starting the engine or if you want to sit in the car without the engine running but have the air con on or radio. If the traction battery is full then when in ready mode and EV pressed it will run the air con and radio until the traction battery want to start the engine to charge it up. I bet you don’t use ASC either.
  4. I find it rather ironic, that they fit run flat tyres or provide puncture repair goo to save weight and thus CO2, but when you do get a puncture you have the throw away a tyre that could have been repaired. Does the CO2 used to produce the new tyre outweigh the CO2 saving on the reduced weight? Discarded tyres are also bad for the environment.
  5. One of the more useful features of the Lexus Link + App is the remote defrosting (Remote Control - Start Climate). I set it going 10 minutes before I want to leave to defrost the front screen and rear screen, which it does, but it doesn't defrost the wing mirrors. When I get in the car and put it into ready mode they clear very quickly. I thought the rear screen and wing mirrors would work together as they are on the same button. Anyone else noticed this? (Perhaps they should be called Door Mirrors as they are on the door not wing now! - Manual calls then Outside Rear View Mirrors) Thanks Paul
  6. Is that on the Lexus Link + app? Because I do see any reference to Energy Consumption in the app. What is miles per KWh anyway - what has the hour go to do with energy consumption? I would expect miles per Kw.
  7. Sorry, don’t understand the numbers you are quoting. The miles per KHh is displayed on the car information display. In the summer I managed 4.0 miles per kWh but now only 2.8. I think miles per kWh is a sort of mpg type measure of efficiency. The app doesn’t help, it just gives a range which isn’t very realistic compared to real miles. As a rule of thumb I use 1% of battery to be 1 mile and then range anxiety kicks in an anything less than 50 miles range I want to charge up. I only charge at home or work which limits the distance I can travel some what.
  8. Manuals can be downloaded here https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals
  9. It’s in the Navigation manual, not that there is much to adjust. A three band graphic equaliser (Treble Mid Base) and fader/balance. p129 of the manual.
  10. Betsy wasn't on a bridge throwing stones was she?
  11. How fast had you been driving it, could be a relativity thing?
  12. I’ve just noticed, switches that go up and down have two lines on the edge, switches that just go down have one. Attention to detail or what?
  13. Shocking depreciation. A £57k car worth £21k after 2 years. Just shows how poor the market for EVs is at present. Makes you wonder if you are better handing the car back at the end of the PCP if the GFV is more than the car is worth trade in.
  14. So you think the engineers working for Lexus to produce these updates don’t need food on their table or a roof over their head.
  15. You are quite correct in being cautions. However I got some emails from ITC Compliance when enquiring about a car at Lexus Preston. Cant remember if I set up an account. Give the dealer a call if you enquired about a car. Paul
  16. My wife looked into using the charger at her work and it wanted you to use an app and pre load credit to it. Is this normal?
  17. I’ve only ever charged at home or work. Haven’t plucked up the courage to try charging on the go yet. Which limits the places we can go as the places we go generally don’t have chargers at the destination. E.g. National Trust properties. However if you have the plug in hybrid shouldn’t be a problem.
  18. General Chat section is Lexus Owner Club Lounge. Sorry, Not sure about your heating question.
  19. In Lexus defence, when they are writing software for the cars they are in control of ecosystem. When it comes to phone apps there are many different types of phone, operating system, versions, drivers etc. They can’t test every combination as they are not in control of all hardware and software needed to make it work. (but to test one would be a start). Paul
  20. The link in the APP takes you to the Toyota app. Don't click on this. Go back to the app store and reinstall from there.
  21. Same as above, (iPhone) Went to AppStore and upgraded the Lexus Link + app and now back to normal. (I can see battery % charge for the EV - which s the only useful feature of the app) Paul
  22. Just watching the (2021/22) Deep Dive video 52 mins in. You can set the number of presets. Audio - Setup - Radio - Number of Radio Presets
  23. Have you tried it to see if it works? With the car locked and the key in your trouser pocket. Walk up to the rear of the car, kick your leg under the middle of the rear bumper for half a second and withdraw your leg, but don't kick Step back (this is important). Say "Open Sesame" If so equipped then the car should beep and open the tailgate. (Saying Open Sesame is optional) Mine has it but is a pre facelift model.
  24. Apparently the electric 300e doesn’t have it. But this may help those that do https://mag.lexus.co.uk/how-to-set-your-perfect-driving-position-in-your-lexus/#LexusUX
