  1. The over optimistic figures quoted by car manufacturers to give the Would Like To Predict (WLTP) figures are no different to the MPG figures quoted. E.g the quoted MPG figure of an IS300h is 64.2 mpg and a fuel tank size of 66 litres giving a range of 932 miles. The average MPG figure when I had my IS was 44.8 MPG, giving a range of 650 miles. A 30% reduction in range. So not much different for the EV perceived drop in range. This too is affected by cold temperatures and poor weather. However I did travel 15 miles yesterday and only lost 15 miles in range. On a full charge (100%) I am getting a dash range of 165 miles with aircon on (UX300e).
  2. Hi and welcome, good choice. It’s probably so mucky under there as there is no reason to open the bonnet apart from yearly servicing and to top up the washer fluid. Enjoy Paul
  3. Not seen this message either and I regularly charge to 100% and drive in B mode all the time. Is it a feature of the long range version?
  4. Thanks, but the UX app is different. There is no Charging Schedule, just Upcoming Charge, where you can set a one off start time, or departure time.
  5. Hi, Could someone please explain how the scheduled charging from the App works. I have a UX300e but suspect it will be the same for the RZ. In the app I can set a start time for a charge, or a finish time but not both. (Incidentally how do you delete a set charge?) If I have cheap electricity between 12 am and 5 am. How do I get it to charge between these times. Do I plug the cable in, set a start time of 12 am and it will automatically stop when the battery is full? Or do I set a finish time of 5am and hope it starts and charges at the rate it expects to be full at 5am. Then it will stop charging at 5am even if it is not full. When I go out at 8am I unplug the cable. I am using a Zappi home charger. Thanks Paul
  6. Have you actually listend to the standard radio? Linas is well known for hating it but I can’t tell the difference between the standard IS radio to the ML system in my UX.
  7. I couldn’t find anything in the customization section of the handbook. You could always put the indicator on full then cancel when you are ready and welcome to LOC
  8. I miss being able to do a manual wipe of the windscreen without taking it out of auto. The IS had a button on the stalk for auto wipers so you could flick the stalk to wipe the windscreen manually and keep it in auto.
  9. It could be that the dealer gives a poor trade in value because of the colour. Blazing Carnelian is not a popular colour (although I would have one that colour if the wife’s car was not Orange).
  10. I spent ages trying to find the dipstick in my UX300e. But then I looked in the wing mirror and there it was staring me in the face.
  11. If their a non return valve in the pipe work that could be blocked? Check the pipes back from the jets to the tank if you can get at them. There is usually a valve (black plastic fitment in the pipe) that stops the water draining back into the tank. These can get blocked. If you take it out make sure you put it back in the correct way.
  12. Sorry to hear of your encounter. You did the right thing. why can’t people be nice to each other ? We need more people to drive like Ogmios. Check out his other videos too
  13. Is it Mercedes that don’t have a dip stick (apart from the one behind the wheel)? 🙃 Sorry someone had to say it.
  14. It is common for used cars to be kept with minimal fuel in so that in the event of a theft from the forecourt the thieves can’t get far. It does seem common for dealers to not respect their customers cars and drive them in ways the owner would not. For example, the first time I saw my new to me car in the flesh it was doing 80 mph in the fast lane of a dual carriageway on its way to the dealer to meet me for a viewing. I rescued her from the nasty dealers and Pookie is now well cared for and driven with care and respect.
  15. I got exactly the same service from Stoke when I bought my ex demo IS300h 8 years ago. when I queried them they said I didn’t ask Never been back to them. ☹️
  16. Welcome to LOC by the way. The predicted range figures are a bit like MPG figures and never accurate and always look better than they are. I think the WLTP figure means Would Like To Predict! I have not tried to charge mine via the Chademo yet. At least when you get used to having to charge frequently its a nice drive. As you are in Greater London, perhaps you can take some solace from the fact that it is electric with a poor range and charging speed so may be less likely to be stolen. Enjoy Paul
  17. That sounds about the same as me. It’s an Urban eXplorer so not designed to travel long distances. As a rule of thumb I half the shown range with air con on to work out when I need to charge. Which in effect means a range of 100 miles from fully charged or realistically 50 miles from home. What miles per kWhr are you getting? I am currently 2.7 but was up to 4 in summer. Higher speeds use more electric. The only thing you can do about it is plan a route to charge on the go at services or to buy a petrol hybrid.
  18. I would be interested to know what you decide. We have a landline that we don’t use and no one phones now my mother is not with us except the nice man from Amazon saying there is a problem with my account. 🙃 We have fiber to the house from BT for broadband. I am not sure if you need a land line and line rental for the broadband or if you can just have broadband on fiber and use mobiles for voice calls. If you did get rid of the land line, who would you have to tell?
  19. I had my car serviced a few days ago. How long until the maintenance history in the app is updated with the recent service (if I am lucky)?
  20. On a similar note, I recognize that the software in the app is poor, but the auto dimming headlights software is pretty complex but it seems to work. So they must have some good software engineers.
  21. The only thing you are missing is the frustration in trying to get anything else to work. 🙃
