  1. Hi Sam , I don't think there were niggly issues to iron out - the LS600 launched in 2007 , in 2010 it then had face lift by changing the front bumper / grill / bonnet / headlights / wings / wing mirrors / rear bumper / rear lights and bootlid. Interior changes were the option of a five seat version with the full relaxation seat / DVD player & 9" screen between the front seats with dolby surround 5.1 . New steering wheel controls and a new digital display in the dash ( no longer with two separate dials ) slightly different controls for the media unit - some models came with a 10gb HD which you could record cd 's onto - and rewind live radio for upto an hour ..sat nav was massively updated too , full postcodes and a better overall usability than the previous sat nav . Full bluetooth connection / stream music etc Nearly all came with semi-aniline leather and alcantara head lining. The 2013 face lift models again had changes too the front bumper / grill / bonnet / headlights / wings / rear bumper / rear lights and bootlid and new alloywheel design( same size ) . Inside was an all new dashboard and centre console with a small rest with mouse type control to interact with the larger 12.3 info screen and rotary dial for suspension options - in 2015 the small rest had the addition of a side menu button . The multi disc changer has gone from the dash and is now a single disc . there is no HD to store ads but live radio can still be rewound . The sat nav was updated too and lost a feature or two and the dash went back to having two dials . The rear DVD player is now blue ray , and the massage controls were put on the side of the centre armrest -( 2010 model had a control unit within the armrest .) Some models were fitted with night vision ..if it has it it has three buttons to the left of the steering wheel not two , some are advertised as having it but don't . The front and rear seats / door panels are the same throughout the 2010 - 2016 years. Across all the years the monocoque has remained the same as have the doors . The 2013 facelift did not come with a spare wheel , but the well is still there if you want to carry a full size spare , but you'll lose a storage tray - and the TPS system won't recognise a spare wheel on the car ; there were some colour choice changes too . They all drive very similar to each other , different tyres do make a difference to the ride and sound in the car . As with any car there can be faults and problems - but on the whole they are pretty bullet proof , buy a good one and it should serve you well . The mpg is an average of 30 mpg - best I had was 41mpg averaging 65 mph mostly on motorways , town driving will see an average of 28mpg. Parts can be pricey and some only available through Lexus but you won't be buying them that often .
  2. Hi Gen , were the £80 control arms quoted by Lexus ?? Last time I paid for upper arms they were approx £300 each from Lexus not fitted. That was approx late 2018 at around 170,000 miles . Upper control arms are the same for the 460/600 across all years . I fitted non Lexus upper arms at 140,000 miles which cost 200 euros for the four and they lasted approx 30,000 miles - had I spent the £1000 on four arms at 140,000 miles ( the price quoted in 2017 by Lexus ) I don't think the they would have been changed again in 2018 - the bottom arms were all replaced at 140,000 and were good for another 100,000 miles when the car was sold . Of the four lower arms the two nearest the bulkhead are specific to the LS600 . Any other questions about LS ownership just ask - milage and dates are approx of course ... bought and sold... 2018 - LS500 H Premier - Dec 2020 with 18,500 miles - now at 52,000 miles 2010 - LS600 HL - Dec 2013 with 43,000 miles - Oct 2021 with 218,000 miles 2004 - LS430 - May 2007 with 45,000 miles - Dec 2013 with 245,000 miles 1996 - LS400 - May 2005 with 160,000 miles - May 2007 190,000 miles
  3. 😂😂 I was just using the same spelling as Lexus , ottoman , maybe they thought thats where you control your empire from as opposed to wondering where all the fur is !!!!
  4. Thats a nice item to have Steve , although your search for that colour combination will be difficult ! I have only seen one for sale in that combo about two years ago. The semi-analine leather is definitely the one to have. A pre 2010 model won’t have you worrying about big brakes though. At around 140,000 miles I had some play in the upper offside front arms and a lower arm on the nearside...I chose to replace all eight front arms ( the 4 bottom lowers are only available from Lexus , and the front lower rear is specific to the 600 - approx a £1000 for those and the top arms were approx €200 delivered from Estonia ? a company called Febest .. the upper arms are the same across the 460/600 range of all years.
  5. Hey Steve , don’t know if this is still relevant, but I’ve owned my 2010 facelift model LS600 for 4 years now. I don’t know about other hybrids....but I started with 43,000 now at 160,000....and can still run silently . I guess depending on age , mileage and useage will affect how the system works. Sometimes when I mine it sounds like a bag of spanners when its been stood for a few weeks , but in daily use on start up is as quiet as any ither car. The 600 works out itself when it needs to run the engine ...it can do up 40mph , I have seen 45mph on battery power alone but you need a very flat road or be going slight downhill. There is an eco button which makes it battery only upto 20 mph but the throttle pedal is sensitive it’s easy to disengage . On occasion the hybrid battery can be fully charged and the engine will still run , as it may be cooling the hybrid system or some other function. The one touch ottoman button will work when the ignition is on , and to check if works fully make sure there is nothing in the front seat and the front door is closed . I return an average of 28- 30mpg with mixed driving , if you can bear 60/65 on a long motorway run you can see 35 + mpg. Also if it is a 2010 facelift check if there are six pot brembo calipers fitted , you’ll know as the disc is almost touching the wheel ( about an inch or so gap on standard four pot ) the pads alone cost around £350 from Lexus and there are no other brands available.
  6. Hi Hazman , when my 04 ac compressor failed , Lexus wanted an arm and leg for a replacemnt . I took mine to an independent a/c specialist , who removed unit stripped it down and found the internals had disintegrated and therefore recommonded changing the condensor radiator and flushing out the system so as not have any contaminants possibly ruining a new compressor , cost was £1,400 approx 2 yrs ago all done .
  7. Hi Ron , do you have the smart key system switched on ? in the hand book it suggests if leaving the car for a couple of weeks to turn it it off , as the system is constantly looking for the key ! , and may drain the battery ,
  8. this is not that one , it is green . If your still driving it buy the salvage from them and get it repaired - had the wheels been refurbed before you bought it ? when I traded it , it needed the wheels refurbing , one of the rear bearings was just starting to make a noise and it needed a 250,000 service - Man I loved that car - would have kept it if it was feesable - but the 600hl is just as awesome
  9. that was my ls430 i part ex'd at lexus nottingham , ( I owned it seven years , 2nd owner ) that is such a shame you had the bump , as you could tell it was well looked after , the only reason I changed was because it was 10year old. Despite the age and mileage , if they gave you all the service history etc , use that with the insurers when they give you a value as that car wanted for nothing and was serviced every 5 months etc etc , hope you get a good outcome ( gutted for you )
  10. that is a fair point , although , is there a risk that they could unknowingly seize up through lack of use ? ...I imagine that the dealer aspect of disabling it , could be them plugging it into their Lexus systems to do it.
  11. The indie dealer doesnt know youv'e been watching the car , put yourself in their position , would you admit to having had a car sat about for a few months,,,,? Lexus Hatfield took in a 600h '09 from ( i think from Lexus Stoke ) and put it up for £30,950 it had been £28,950 at the other dealer ...they are all car dealers at the end if the day . If you don't feel comfortable about it find another as there are loads of 430's for sale ...the lack of paperwork could be as simple as submitting it to an accountant for tax purposes as I do ( although I photocopy mine ) , and it shouldn't be due a cambelt for another 40,000 miles ( every 100,000 )
  12. Hi , sorry to hear about your accident . The insurers will def write the car off as the repair will be to much in relation to its value , if it was only a slight bump and you know a good body shop , you could ask to keep the salvage , as it would only be a cat d write off. Your rear lights being on could be accident related as could be the suspension drop . possibly failure of the ride height sensor. what was your reg if you dont mind me asking
