  1. Olusegun Kolade Thanks for your good wishes re selling our IS200D F Sport, its advertised on this platform. I have sold the car once on ebay and again but then the buyer could not travel from Birmingham due to lock down. Its a bit inconvenient and we are waiting for the next opportunity !
  2. Agree with your thoughts here given the unprecedented times we are living through. We are advertising our IS 200 F Sport, also Sorned, as we now have a new EV SUV, Better to control the costs than keep it on the road, We will be sad to see the IS go but needs must and hope that all our lives return to safety and normality soon. Go safe all.
  3. I am selling my Lexus Is200D F Sport. 2011 and 83,800 miles, Lexus service history and in excellent condition. Its been covered by a Lexus extended warranty since I have owned if from Lexus Lincoln in June 2017, so no expense spared and all services have been carried out. A set of wheels replaced under warranty in 2018 by lexus ( Pristine refurbished) and generally a great car. Ok why the sale, I have reached that age where I need an SUV / UX and hence the sad decision to sell my beloved IS. Tyres all at 5mm, MOT till late May. Spec is typical F Sport, all the toys but NO sat nav. £5,500. Admin, if this is posted in the wrong section apologies.
  4. There has been a lot written about the IS220D and I have owned one with some of the issues well quoted on this forum. I now own an IS200D F Sport and have had it for 30 months. I had a few minor issues when I purchased it from Lexus Lincoln but all were dealt with by the dealer and Lexus warranty. Its now covered 88K. I advise you to check the vehicle you intend to buy as you would any other, but in my experience the two models are very different. Fuel economy is not brilliant , low to mid 40's. There are still some 220-D hang overs, 6th gear is useless unless on the motorway, its far to long legged. But, on the whole my IS200-D F Sport has been a great and very reliable car. It drives really well, after all , "its a Lexus". Just my personal experience and I'm sure there will be a number of differing opinions. I'm going to upgrade my Lexus shortly and will be sad to see this one go and looking forward to my next Lexus.
  5. I had an 2008 IS220D 69,000 miles, same issues as you have/are experiencing. Cleaned the EGR at each service interval and no worries for 3 years. Just as I made the decision to get a newer version the deaded light came on the dash and I had to have the DPF cleaned. I'm no expert but I hope it's just the EGR needing a clean but I enjoyed my 220D and sold it at 101,000. Not brilliant on fuel, had to unseize the callipers but in general it was a lovely car apart from 6th gear being to long legged ! Hope you find a low cost and or free solution. Cheers
  6. Well I'm going to be completely contradictory to previous comments! I have had two IS220D, 98K approx on each, no issues other than regular service at Lexus and clean EGR valve from time to time. Yes could have been better designed by Lexus and the reworked version is far better. I now have an IS200D F sport, different car altogether, No issues, regular service at Lexus and two warranty claims in two years, Screen washer pump and door actuator. In think the 200 is a great improvement. Speak as you find, I love my 200D F-sport.
  7. Many thanks for the replies, there is no noise from the screen pump and only a short burst of water and noise from the headlamp pump. As the fuse is intact its is, as you all suggest, time for a new pump. My IS is still under the Lexus warranty so when its in for its 80k service next week, at Lexus, they can fix it hopefully within the warranty , well I can hope, if not I shall be buying a pump and changing it myself. The diagrams and photos are very helpful. Thanks again for the replies, appreciated.
  8. My IS200D F Sport has developed a fault in as much as the screen washer pump has failed I think. Checked the manual and the fuse is intact. The headlamp washers still function so I'm assuming that this has a seperate pump? Usual checks completed, reservoir is full of water, no blockages I can detect, anyone had the same issue before my Lexus dealer has a look ? Cheers
  9. Lexus Customer Relations ref: CASE LR Lexus Customer Relations <cr@lexus.co.uk> Reply| Wed 25/07, 13:58 You I decided to ask Lexus how far they had progressed with WLTP testing protocols. Like all manufacturers they are well into the expensive and complex testing and submissions for real world emissions under far more stringent conditions than had to be met previously and not all these were harmonised reliably until now.. I had read some rather unreliable reports that older vehicles would be subject to retest and then their emission category changed and VEL rates increased. Whilst this was always unlikely Lexus response below confirms that this is not the case. There is a link below to an explanation of the new standards of the WLTP testing protocol. http://wltpfacts.eu/ Dear , Thank you for your e-mail. I can confirm that Lexus, in line with all other automotive manufacturers, will soon be required by law to test using the WLTP testing protocol over the previous testing protocol, NEDC. Lexus began testing, and certifying, under WLTP at the end of 2017, and will complete this transition shortly. There is no requirement to re-test vehicles previously tested and certified under the NEDC. For more information about how we are approaching WLTP, and how WLTP is different to NEDC, please see the following link: https://www.lexus.co.uk/wltp I hope this answers your question satisfactorily, and thank you for taking the time to get in touch. 10. I sent an email and got the response below after reading the comments so far. I was checking out the service history and then came across this thread. Seems that Lexus will be resolving soon I hope. Thanks to all for the previous comments and forgive me for jumping in at the tailend 🙂 Dear Thank you for your email regarding your online service history. I am sorry to read your comments and apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience caused by this, unfortunately we are experiencing some technical issue with the service history on MyLexus using a normal internet browser. You should still be able to view your service history using the MyLexus mobile app, you can download if from the app store on your mobile device and login using your normal MyLexus credentials. I apologise again for any inconvenience & thank you for contacting Lexus. 11. Great post this, whilst not relevant to my Lexus it did make me think again and Not buy from Ebay and get pugs for my wifes car from the Green Spark Plug Co and they are only a few pence more expensive that some other supplies that may be questionable! cheers all
  12. Hi All, Joining this one a bit late but having had Lexus rebuild, under warranty, new discs, calipers and pads last year I am wondering what slider pin grease to use. I have read many reviews and there is a no clear winner. Having just rebuilt the calipers and fitted new sliders into the wife's car( not a Lexy) I used the clear silicon based pin lube that came with the FRENTECH kit . Any thoughts as I will be re lubricating the Lexus pins pre winter 2018. Appreciate the input.
  13. I was at Lexus Lincoln last week. They offered me Two years Lexus extended warranty for the price of one. Seems like a plan, my warranty still has a year plus to go but they assured me it will simply be added on. With some of the costs of repair being expensive it's always a gamble as to taking this on. My recent claim for door lock actuators was over £300 so makes you think as does the previous comments regarding water pump!
  14. Took my Car in for the Airbag recall and all good. Arrived at 08.00, loan car Ct200 Sport. Three and a half hours later all done. Valeted, safety check completed and 25l of fuel. Nice coffee and a cake in reception. I get home and all is well, no rattles after 35 mile drive. I also received an email from the service manager showing a video with audio report of the safety check being completed by the technician In all Lexus Lincoln you did a great job. Great brand Lexus
  15. I was a little impatient waiting for my letter regarding the airbag recall after 5 months of ownership and two emails to Lexus so I emailed the service manager from the Lexus dealer in Lincoln where I purchased the car. Fair play, 48 hrs later email response , parts on order and appointment made for three weeks time. Be interesting to see if it comes back clean and with fuel added as Its a 65 mile round trip! At least it's now work in progress!
  16. Agree with John totally. I had Nightbreakers in my previous IS220D /2007 and they made inadequate lighting at least satisfactory and caused no issues in any way. HID is the way to go but a wee bit more work, time and money so NightBreakers are a good bet for your car and cost effective.
  17. NEXEN Nfera SU1, I have fitted these and had the front a rear geometry checked and adjusted to stock and so far,1000k in I am suitably impressed. Wet and dry weather handling has not been anything other that very good indeed. As a mature driver, ok old ! I dont stress them but we do drive professionally on Goodyear efficiency tyres and they have to perform for us when deployed ! The NEXEN's have done just as well if not better so far ! I am suitably impressed with Nexen and the warranty package is excellent should something go pear shaped. All in x 4 tyres inc geo checks and adjustments is good value £375 for 255/225/40x18 on an F Sport and so is the performance thus far. I will update as miles increase. Please see the warranty package brochure attached ! Nexen Lifetime Guarantee HR.PDF
  18. This is my prefered cleaner addative for petrol engines. I use the diesel version on the Lexus and the OT100 for the wifes car petrol car, seems to work wonders added every 3k and seems to keep things sweet!. EuroCarparts was my source and wait for the discount offers they run. There will be lots of variations as we all have our favorites as well as those members who dont see any benefit, but, works for us :-)
  19. Haven't driven one yet but I don't exactly drive round at any pace, often overtaken by Smart cars, do all my rushing around when deployed and lots of noise and flashy lights :-). A 300 hybrid will be good for me at a leisurely pace I think :-)
  20. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/Lexus/IS Linas.P, Lexus IS 300h F Sport Is my first choice :-) Have to wait and see what's occurring this time next year.
  21. Another vote for the Bosch/Varta S4 battery . The Bosch/Varta has a greater CCA than many others at the same specification and the warranty is good. I had a Lion battery from EuroCarParts and they tested it at 35 months and replaced it without a grumble. On this car I opted for the S4 and hope not to have to test the water re warranty befor I go to the darkside/ Lexus IS Hybrid :-).
  22. Good tyres from Avon or Cooper , would never describe either as budget for their performance/cost.
  23. http://www.toyotareference.com/lexusis/2006-2015 Worth checking out the colour code for your vehicle from the body plate and comparing it to the north american colour names. Seems they are all the same colour pallet but differ from market to market by name only, still share the same i.d code though. Mine is Mesa Red in the uk and Matador red mica in other markets! V5 states Mesa RED for my car.
  24. I agree Rebecca, that's not good at all, Lexus service fail right there . Whilst I have had a few gripes at my own dealer I have to give them credit for always trying. The wash/valet and fuel I thought was a given these days !
