  1. Meet sounds good, i'll try to make it. The bonnet is actually a velvet vinyl wrap which having researched it, is a bit of a marmite topic. Working in central london i get to see some prity mad motors but one that really caught my eye was this furry velvet ferrarri 599, Firstly, i thought omg wtf but then i really liked it, also that it was different. So thought i'd give it a go on my car, Hopefully its still in keeping with the lexus luxury brand :) Maybe my furry bonnet is making my car slow ?
  2. Thanks mate, Slow lol, and it's an auto... Wish I got 300 or altezza now. Stupidly I did a deal outside of ebay just to save £50. I checked the oil, water and ran it up to temp but just thought hey it's a lexus engine what could go wrong. I called the seller and he said he'd already spent the money and that it had been running perfectly fine before ...... Mmm funny that. Oh well, at least I know how the engine works, I even had to do the cambelt twice as somehow I managed to retard it by a couple of degrees. Doh!! Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  3. Hello all, Finally joined after a 1 year and a half, Not my usual sort of cars as I prefer the faster jap cars but I've always like the look of the is200's and needed a car quickly so I found one on ebay. Unfortunately it was short lived as 30 mins after picking it up it overheated, yes the ebay scum had ripped me off without out telling me about the blown headgasket. So i left it on my drive for 6 months thinking whether to sell it on or just go back to evo/scooby world, but every time i looked at it i just wanted to fix it. So i bit the bullet and took it to bits. Having fixed it within a couple of weeks i was so happy it was back on the road, very sloooooow ,but enjoyable in a different way. I don't mind it too much at the moment as i'm enjoying the comfy ride, not worrying about speed camera's .....so much, or whether the engine is going to blown up and quite simply that its my first lexus. As you can see i've done a few mods already and still have a few more planned. Anyway look forward to chatting to all you fellow is200 owners :)
