  1. Thanks Tiger. I think the key I have is the 'does everything'. IIRC the valet key is grey, and the one I have is black and opens everything. If anyone happens to have a fob for a MK1 knocking around, pics or model numbers would be enormously appreciated so I can find a replacement. I've got the recoding document...just need the correct fob :)
  2. Hey folks, Just picked myself up a lovely 1996 GS300 which only came with 1 Lexus Key. I'm trying to remember what keys my LS400 came with as it was the same year, and I'm sure it was a 3 button key. I've read a bunch of threads, but don't seem to be any closer to finding out which key/remote thingy I need for the car. The existing key doesn't have any buttons, but looks identical to the Lexus key that normally has a single button on the side. This key opens and starts the car fine, but I would like to get a remote that works, and have a spare key. So, does anyone know definitively which key or fob I should be getting?
  3. Thanks Steve, you're right, so much car for the money. Maybe the future plan is to keep one and get another to do the transplant with and keep for spares :) I did a lot of reading about the various cluster problems, so I need to pull the binnacle out to fix the needle illumination. Sadly banging on the console doesn't make the rev counter spring into life (but does make the needle jump a bit) so it's probably come off its spindle. Will find out when I pull it out. Anyways, thanks for the welcome, and no doubt I'll be picking your brains soon :)
  4. Hey folks, Just thought I'd pop on and say a quick hello. Just bought myself a 1996 LS400 in some kind of gold two-tone affair. It's the deluxe model that comes with battle scars at all four corners, which aids parking I heard, and also the rev counter doesn't move. Other than that, very clean and smooth car! A travesty it may seem, but I originally bought the car to transplant the V8 into another vehicle, but having driven it a long way back to Newcastle, I've kinda fallen for the thing! So here's the eye candy;
