  1. Thanks for that - I was in Halfords looking at the Nextbase products and I like the 402 G and 512 duo. I'm not sure if the "G" allows unit to monitor motion/contact whilst parked? If so I think it needs to be "hard wired" to work when ignition off. They will do for £30. more research needed !!
  2. Morning all, I am thinking of fitting a dash cam and wonder if it is possible to link the present rear view cam to a front looking one.? Im looking for a small, discreet unit which won't hinder my view. thanks
  3. Further to my earlier post returning from "up north" the VSC and engine warning came on again and stayed on. I have relayed my experiences on the similar forum concerning this problem suffice to say it cost me £125 for the new coil - watching the mechanic do the work, I could readily handle coils 2, 4 and 6 but the rest needs pipes moving etc and that's a bit of a no no! I have searched Internet and find that the coils (code 90919-02251 ) vary in price from £ 8.95 ( China) to £ 137 uk plus vat. My garage charged £54 for 1 hour but spent time changing the coils over whilst trying to isolate the fault. No complaints. Love this car.
  4. Now I know " how " to get at the coils I shall do the clean up recommended by fellow members before I spend £125 again !!! Thanks for posting the advice - it certainly helps and gives comfort when a problem occurs.
  5. Hi all - had the same fault recently 0355 which was intermittent - had my local garage do a diagnostic check and he recommended swapping the coil and spark plug into different slots to confirm a coil malfunction. Swapped coil from 5 to 4 and spark plug 5 to 2. Fault duly returned and code 0354 came up which confirmed the problem coil. Spark plug ok and as they were changed in June I would not have expected a problem. New coil fitted £125 plus VAT. Went on line looking for coil 90919-02251, as stamped on the old coil, and found prices from £8.95 ( China ) to £137 plus vat in UK. Seems that there are cheaper alternatives which match up so I shall investigate further. Having watched the mechanics replace the coil I know I could do the job on pots 2 -4 -6 myself but 1 3 and 5 means removing hoses etc to get at them and then, would I have the tools ? Great car though and a little treat in my old age !!
  6. Hi all - had the VSC light and the engine symbol on intermittently. Local garage had a look today and came up with error p0355. Seem that this is on cylinder no. 5 and all you have said about replacing the coil was the probable solution. Code was cleared but within a few miles it was back on again. I'm now awaiting a cost of a replacement coil and it has been suggested that all 3 (?) should be replaced. The car is on a 56 plate with 65000 on the clock.
  7. Returning from a visit "up North" cruising the A1 when the VSC and Engine lights came on. Wife read the manual whilst continuing which advised " brake system ok " therefore, we continued South. When at home I read up the forum here at the Owners Club and read about the " whoosh" from the petrol cap. Went to the car undid the cap, slight "whoosh" tightened the cap. Wife drove car 5 miles - lights went out and haven't reappeared in the last 3 days whilst driving 50 plus miles. Will continue to monitor. I think the forum is a wonderful source for the best advice around at little or no cost.
  8. Thanks for organising a meet . Fen Ditton 45 mins away so I look forward to meeting you all. Had my 2006 350SL since July 2014 and just love it ! Need to learn your views on Servicing and wether to go the Lexus garage route or an independent. See you soon.
  9. Thanks for those tips Steve. I'm changing the 8year old battery today so will try the various levels when reconnected. Had a good run out to Cornwall for a week and averaged 35 mpg over the whole trip - we don't zoom usually cruising along at 65/70 with the occasional overtaking boost. M25 makes an impact on consumption though !
  10. Rillo , thanks very much - I was hoping it was something simple !!
  11. Hi all, purchased this lovely car, 56 plate last month. Still awaiting an Owners Manual so don't know the situations where I would need to change the suspension height from Nuetral to High or Low ? I'm still working out some of the switches - gets exciting when something happens ! Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks
  12. Yes -set to AV1 but both screens start up but turn off after a few seconds. I shall take this wonderful a car back to the dealer to have it fixed.
  13. Hi I also have this problem having just taken delivery of my RX350 - did you get it fixed and if so "how" Thanks
  14. Welcome to the LOC. I joined last week and have spent a few hours looking through the forum subjects - everything is there and they are a great help and comfort. I'm still trying to get an Owners Book from the dealer plus two headphones for the ICE system - the answers are all there on the forum which help in my quest. Seem to be if any problems - put it on the forum for all the help you will need. Have fun Seafarer
  15. Thanks everyone - opened the fob up and battery a C1616 - £3.99 at Halfords the car is worth the expence!! Working fine now.
