  1. Dear IS300H owners, Finally, there is a solution for our vibration. Last Monday my IS was modified by adding a dynamic damper on the wheel suspension plus another motor management update. To be honest the vibration is drastically reduced. At 80 and 100km/h there is no vibration noticeable only a slight vibration between 60-70km/h. This weekend I will do some more testing but for now I’m a happy driver. The solution is still in the pilot phase but just asked your dealer for this solution they most probably have to ask the Toyota importer for approval first. Below some pictures of the damper left on the wheel suspension.
  2. Last year I was invited by autoweek.nl to test drive all the engine version of the Q50 on a circuit in the Netherlands. As an IS300h owner I was surprised about the capabilities of this car. Price wise the Q50 with petrol engine is in the same price range as the IS and it’s definitely more spacious that the IS. The 2 liter Mercedes engine is power enough but not as refined at the IS. The hybrid with V6 is a beast. It’s not meant for fuel economy but for performance, it’s blistering fast. The electronics steering by wire is some getting used to, it’s less involving, but is has some advantages in case of an evasive maneuver. The car is fully controllable and stabilized after. I tried this myself on the circuit and I was very impressed. Although the IS is more fun to drive the, If I had to choose a gain the Q50 hybrid would be on my short. And that has more to with the poor Lexus service and the resonance of the IS power train at 80 and 100 km/h. Same here in the Netherlands you hardly see this car on the road, they have only two dealers 100km from where I’m living not quite an option. Selling 25 cars a year.
  3. Dear Dominik, My name is Twan. I'm from the Netherlands. I privately drive an IS300h since October 2013 and I'm facing exactly the same issue with the driving train as you describes. I also did the FW update last august but that didn't solve the vibration. Last February I talked to the dealer and they were hoping that by the end of March an update or what so ever would be available to cure the issues. I wasn’t the only customer complaining about this issue they had six more. I have test driven 3 other IS300h but they all have the same issues. I didn’t try out the 2015 model year, but I don’t think there is any difference. To be honest my wife drives an Auris TS 2014. This car has more or less the same issues at 120km/h, it is not so strong but there is a vibration as well. She complained at the dealer about this and they told her there is no solution it has to do with the low emission regulation. They engine is running so lean that it’s not feeling happy and starts to vibrate. If Lexus isn’t able to solve this than the next car is definitely not a Lexus any more. Let’s hope for the best. Regards, Twan
  4. Hi Captain Fizz The wax that I'm using is from ProTech, Ultimate Paint Protection it's a long lasting wax. It's easy to apply, but it will give white marks on black plastic so be care full. To protect the wax during washing I use there shampoo as well. So far it seem to hold very well after three months. Hi Normski2, The IS300h isn’t very popular in Holland, they sell about 30 unit/month. If you compare this to BMW 3 series, Mercedes C class etc, it’s less 10% of there sales. The CT200h was a very popular car when it came to the market but it’s now selling only 60-70 units/months . Lexus is still a brand that’s not very popular in the lease market and too expensive for the private market. The lease market prefers the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid already sold 6000units this year, even the very expensive Tesla model S selling very well. This is due to our tax system on these low emission cars you only have to add 4-8% of the car price to your bruto income before tax, compare to 20% for the IS300h and 14% for the CT200h.
  5. Indeed Sonic Titanium is one of the nicest colors, but unfortunately from experience I know that color matching is extremely difficult. Even if you use Lexus recommended bodyshop Lexus. I Catched up two parking lot damages, one pretty big, when the car was parked. The first re-spray the color was too sparkling, so they re-sprayed the complete side of the car but still you could see the color difference, just too brownish. The second time I informed another bodyshop that the color is extremely difficult to match , no problem they say, but finally they could not match it. They have asked there paint supplier to mix the color exactly in there laboratory, taking trunk as reference. Now paint color applied satisfying. In total my car has in thebody shop for two months this year :megaangry: . But still going strong
  6. Hello to you all, I'm Twan a 43 year old Dutchman. Since October last year I privately own a brand new IS300h first edition in Sonic Titanium. I'll have been following this forum already for some time, gathering some using information, so I thought it's time to share my experience as well, participating in the discussions.
