  1. Someone serious and committed to selling (not just thinking about it) their plate will have the plate taken off their vehicle and put on retention ready to sell easily and quickly. I'd always steer clear if they haven't bothered to remove the mark from their car, yet advertise it. It shows they aren't organised. And it means you'll definetley have a long wait. Even if it is a genuine buy, the time it takes DVLA to post him the documents after he goes to the DVLA and pays to take it off his car is several weeks sometimes. Then he has to post it to you... So that's what could have happened in your case, it's possible he has been to the DVLA and even paid them, but sometimes they will take 3+ weeks to send him the new reg for his car and the retention cert. So as a guideline always buy a plate that's on retention, not one that's still on a car, or be prepared to be patient and very careful.
  2. Got the same problem here too... But no answers here. Maybe I'll ask on the USA club.
  3. I was pretty shocked when I got my GS and there were no retracting mirrors. I had previously had an MR2 Tbar with retracting mirrors. Even the IS and the LS have them. I used to use them all the time, they're useful.
  4. My 1998 GS side mirror was replaced by the dealer. It seems a slight shade different, almost like it's tinted.
  5. My Lexus dealer seem to be pretty good when it comes to the small things... Asked parts for a wiper blade, they gave it me. Another time I asked for a new headlamp bulb, I asked how much "Nothing." they gave it me and fitted it. I lost the cover over my locking wheelnut, couldn't find any anywhere so resorted to my dealer, on the phone they just said pop down and we'll give you one we have plenty laying about the garage... it was waiting for me when I got there on the desk! I wish they were the same about servicing! But hey it's the small gestures that make the difference. I had bad experiences at other dealers. So what I'm saying is go to Lexus! And try a few different dealers so you get to know your favourite one who's nicest!
