  1. Hi if you know of anybody selling a lexus rx 400h in excellent condition let me know. Ive been looking for months.
  2. Hi neil, I am only getting rid of my car so i can get a car which will tow well to enable me to tow all over the country in comfort and with confidence without the feel of a heavy caravan on the back. In what way do you mean it doesnt tow as well as the santa fe? Mike
  3. Thanks for alk your feedback. Its giving me confidence of buying one tow. I have read a towing package is required. Ie special radiator and cooling system Mike
  4. Im looking at the lexus rx 400h and the kia sorento but i would prefer the lexus. Would anyone highly recommend the lexus for towing. If so what makes it such a good tow car..i have read the odd report saying they dont recommend the rx 400h for towing. Does the car need specialized towing kit on the car ie transmission and radiator etc Mike
  5. Hi im looking at a lexus rx 400h or a kia sorento to tow my van weighing 1550kg. I really prefer the lexus but want to make sure its excellent for towing my van before i buy one.. the sorento has won awards for towing but i much prefer the lexus. Please can you give me lots of feedback on this one as need ti get a car asap Mike
  6. Hi roger Do u mind me asking how much you paid and what milege it had done so i know what is a good deal or not. Mike
  7. Wanted well looked after lexus rx 400h
  8. Hi all How do you manage with low nose weight of 80kg. On the few occasions when i have towed with my skoda the nose weight has been 80kg anf i have not loaded the awning in. Is there any way of keeping the nose weight down? Please can you guys give me some feed back on this Regards, Mik
  9. Hi roger, Thanks for your reply. I really have my mind set on the Rx 400h. The only thing that concerns me is the low nose weight but i should be able to manage with that. Have u any worrys about the lifespan of the main battery as they are know to cost £2000 plus to replace. The main things that attract me to it are its style, comfort and recommended reliability. A big plus is the fact it is supposed to be no slouch going 0-60 in 7.9 secs. What are they like snd what mpg are you getting. I have not had chance to test drive yet. Regards, Mike
  10. Hi ken, I am interested in the lexus rx 400h for towing my caravan. Concerns are the lexus has a low nose weight of 80kg. Im in Manchester and there doesnt seem many for sale within 75 miles. I am on a limited to a budget but i have seem a for sale 2005 to 2008 Most seemb to be around the 95000 to 11000 They are going for around £7750 for 2005 to £10000 for a 2008. The service at 10000 miles cost arohnd 1250 possibly the reason people are getting rid. There a few for sale but most down south. Mike
  11. I am leaning towards the lexus due to reviews of reliability and comfort also 30 -32mpg seems better than the bmw x5 and range rovers. comparable mpg as the kia sorento but the lexus is more refined and has more power and speed. im just concerned that there are no higher milege rx 400h cars for sale. Most miles i have seen is 135000
  12. Hi neil, Is the 5_10 mpg extra not a positive as im going from 50mpg in a run so going to 30mpg is going to hard enough but losing an extra 5-10 mpg would make the difference too much mike
  13. Hi Neil, I am in the same position you was in. I'm looking at a budget of max 8500 which will only buy me a 2007 model with 100000 on the clock. I'm concerned of paying for expensive repair bills. Are you still happy with yours and have you had any costl repairs
