  1. judging by the brake dust on my wheels the pads are used quite a lot. I am a IAM Roadsmart member and do know how to drive a hybrid but most of my journeys involve many junctions and hills.
  2. My electric garage door lifter with built in light decided to blow the 24v 21w bulb. It has always been a little less bright than I would like so I took the opportunity to replace it with the equivalent LED. Much to my surprise when I put my car in the garage following the bulb replacement the car would not lock using the door button or the key fob button. After waiting for the timed light to extinguish all controls worked fine. I have discovered that the small red key fob LED flashes without being pressed and it works as expected in some different (awkward) locations in my garage. Dpes anyone have the knowledge to explain as to why this occurs. It's not a massive problem , just curious. All the best Paul
  3. Check System indicates Battery or transmitter problem not low tyre pressure. Recently I replaced batteries in mine so have experience of the two different warnings.
  4. Lexuspartsdirect do TPMS refurb kits which include seals and sleeve and are about £8 each if memory serves me correctly.
  5. I would suggest that changing the rear tyres rim to rim to eliminate or prove porous rim would be the cheapest next move then take it from there armed with the results. TPMS does not require any recoding.
  6. Had mine done sometime back at Lexus Nottingham. Never felt quite right despite them checking and re checking. When I recently replaced my tyres at my local ETS store they were rechecked and they had to heat one of the locknuts to allow adjustment but the difference was noticed immediately and made me realize that I had been correct all along and wished I had taken it elsewhere originally. They both used the same Hunter alignment system. I no longer use Nottingham due to this and other issues.
  7. Get the dealer to send you a video of that screen whilst he starts the car. That will give you a better idea.
  8. Thanks John I don't know why my search did not come up with that, the only thing it came up with was this --- Perhaps my experience will clarify things a little Linus. I bought a 12 year old (2009) RX450 last August from a private dealer, with 96k miles on the clock. I read about the 10 year plus extended warranty on here so I emailed my local Lexus dealer asking for details, and received a reply saying my car was too old for an extended warranty. I then phoned Lexus customer services, who confirmed the existence of the 10 year plus warranty, and emailed details to my dealer. I was then provided with the extended warranty for around 500 quid a year, renewable annually until car is 15 yrs old or 150k miles. Warranty also includes UK and European breakdown cover. So, it seems no existing warrranty is required, and you can just go in and buy it. Car needs to be serviced by Lexus to keep warranty valid, and I think they might want to carry out an inspection first if they didn't service it last. In short, there is a standalone extended warranty for cars 10-15yrs old and 100k-150k miles, but not all dealers appear to be aware of it, and so it may require a call to Lexus to send them the info. Thanks again John
  9. Hi good people I'm having difficulty trying to find written info on the above. Does anyone have anything or preferably a link to obtain info on the warranty. I know I can contact my dealer but prefer to be up to speed on the warranty before contacting them. (2009 GS450h) Anyone taken this out?
  10. It's under so much water today the local paper has advised people not to use it, that's a first. I suspect that it will be officially closed but cant guarantee it.
  11. Check system (tire pressure) is usually indicative of a faulty TPMS unit probably flat tpms battery as opposed to flat tyre warning which is different on display.
  12. saw a post on the Facebook site of plates stolen from a LS600h where the thieves had been unsuccessful on a car nearby so had slashed their tyres. Rather have my plates stolen.
  13. Don't think anything is missing its just that it should be black plastic. It looks as if the bumper has had some paint and the duct not masked so it has collected paint which has subsequently deteriorated making it more obvious to the eye.
  14. I have recently changed the batteries in all my wheels and had no problems when all were reinstalled. Nothing needed doing at all.
  15. Distance from original sensors could be an issue. I recently systematically replaced the batteries in mine. On one recent longish journey with the re-batteried sensor sat on my desk in an upstairs room waiting for the silicon to cure the low tire warning changed to check system which remined on until I approached my house and at about 50/60 ft from my drive the system pinged and the dash reverted to low tire again. That took me somewhat by surprise but was repeated on a couple of other occasions with different sensors during the replacement procedure. (All up and running fine now completed)
  16. Having been retired since 2010 I have no direct knowledge of Viessmann but have heard good reports. I recently replaced my stainless Glow Worm with a Vaillant also with stainless heat exchanger. I remember well the trouble alloy heat exchangers had.
  17. Zabe when parked up in the situation you describe look at the MPG on the dash if it goes down it confirms that the engine is indeed running and using fuel rather than being turned by the e/motor to intentionally reduce battery.
  18. As a retired time served (43yrs) gas engineer and last 10 yrs of work a Technical Trainer I second the idea that Vaillant are Lexus equivalent of the boiler world, however Vaillant (German) and Glow Worm (British) merged some years back and many are made in their Belper factory.
  19. I live fairly local and used to swim in the river leading from the lake above down to the ford some 60yrs back. No one has to drive through it as there are access roads to by pass it. It's a shortcut by passing a bottleneck roundabout. Unless it has been dry weather for many days I wouldn't consider it. Great fun to watch though.
  20. You can upgrade the maps but its ridiculously expensive and can only be done through main dealer. Does Google maps app allow you to choose which channel the instructions are fed i.e. notifications or music or call? May be worth an investigation through Google search engine.
  21. I've recently used the new card and it worked much better, didn't have to remind them that it's 15% not the usual 10% that other cards give.
