  1. Thanks for the quick reply Edward & Rayaan. Does it qualify for Lexus essential care? I thought it was only for 5+ year old cars.
  2. Hi, What are the costs for 2 or 3 years service plans for my 2012 Ct200h (80K service approaching, drive around 8K miles annually)? Looking forward to get an estimate on the prices /deals so that I can be sure of getting a good deal. Thanks, Sunil
  3. Hi, Has anybody availed the lexus owners club gold membership discount for your service plan? I have read conflicting reports online that many dealers are not honoring the service discounts guaranteed for Lexusownersclub gold members. I am in two minds - whether to buy the gold membership or not and I would only go ahead to become a gold member if the dealers (Hatfield / Cambridge / Milton Keynes) offer a 10% (or as claimed on the gold membership benefits page) discount over the standard rates advertised on lexus websites. Regards, Sunil
  4. Many thanks for the info. If you dont mind, whats your usage and driving style? Also, I think it may be a good idea to have slightly higher tyres in Cambridge given the condition of the roads! Also, whats the longevity of the tyres in Cambridge area? Regards, Sunil
  5. Hi, I changed my alloys from 17" to 16" yesterday and got new Goodyear Efficientgrip tyres fitted from Kwikfit mobile. The tyre spec is 205/55/VR16 Despite specifying clearly that the recommended tyre pressure is 32, the fitter filled the tyres with 40Psi. Is that correct? Is there any reason why he would have done it? As I am not planning to go above 160kmph/100mph, I let some air out and brought back the tyre pressure to 32 psi before driving. 16" alloy owners only - Any tips for tyre pressures in UK? Or do you suggest that I follow recommended pressure of 32psi? Regards, Sunil
  6. Update: Lexus dealership & customer services confirmed that 15 inch alloys are not recommended for my version (2012 SE-L). So, I would be downgrading to a 16inch alloy - the Fuyu wheels listed in the official accessories for ct200h. I am trying to decide on the tyres and the choices are Goodyear Efficient Grip performance and Pirelli P7 cinturato. Has anyone got any of these tyres fitted? My primary focus is on longevity/mileage, followed by a comfortable & quieter ride. Currently, I am more inclined towards GY Efficient Grip Performance. Regards, Sunil
  7. Hi How does the CT200h perform on reliability and cost of ownership after 100k miles? Is there any ct200h owner who has done over 100k miles here? What are the parts that may need replacement around 100K mark (apart from regular service & hybrid coolant)? My ct200h has had replacement for tyres, brake pads & discs, wipers already at 73K. I do 20K miles per year. So, it a sensible idea sell it around the 95+K mark? or is it worth continuing further? Also, do we have any lexuscare essential service plans for ct200h? I can not see any plans online for Ct200h. So, I thought I will ask the owners themselves Thanks, Sunil
  8. Hi folks, Do you know if we can replace the 17" stock wheels of SE-L (2012) with the 15" version in 'S' version? I would love to the hear the experiences of CT200h owners with 15" wheels. Is the ride more comfortable? On a related topic, is anybody looking to buy 17" wheels (with/without tyres fitted)? Is anybody looking to sell their 15" wheels and upgrade to 17"? Regards, Sunil
  9. Thanks for the warm welcome Michael! The chip/bullseye/spider was not on the A/B/C zones and the car has passed MOT 15 days ago. So, it was not illegal from the dealer's side to sell the car. However, they had not mentioned this damage anywhere on the advert or over phone. I did not know that insurance allows one broken screen. Also, her insurer recommends Auto Windshields only. If we use any other company, we only get a refund upto £200, so it would have been uneconomical for us. Anyways, I am happy that the car will now have a Lexus windscreen and the costs are dealt with by the dealer. No complaints at all ;) Regards, Sunil
  10. Hi All, My wife bought a ct200h last week from an independant dealer. We were disappointed to see a bullseye with spider on the windscreen when we went to test drive the car and managed to get the dealer to agree to replace the windscreen for free ;) The agreement was that the dealer would reimburse the cost of getting my screen replaced by autoglass/equivalent but not a lexus dealer! The whole experience of shopping around for the windscreen was hell of a ride. For Aftermarket windscreens, Autoglass quoted me £585, AA windscreens quoted £410 and many others quoted in the range of £400-£675! I had decided to send the quotes to the delaer and let them to decide (obviously, they would choose the cheapest) As it was bought from an independant dealer (full lexus service history), I contacted Lexus Cambridge to confirm the service work & also book a visual safety check. I inquired about the cost for windscreens & I was surprised to hear that the original lexus windscreen for ct200h would cost me £287 + fitting. (Lexus Cambridge would not do the fitting). A local windscreen replacement company agreed to fit it for £142. Overall, the cost would be £429 for a genuine Lexus Windscreen! Earlier, I was under the impression that genuine lexus windscreens would cost me nearly £1K but I was pleased to know that the windscreens are not as costly as I thought they would be. On the other side, I think Autoglass / other competitors are a rip off as customers (I can only speak for ct200h) end up paying significatly higher for a non Lexus windscreen! This is part 1 of my saga as I am been told that the windscreen fitter would replace my windscreen on Saturday.
