  1. I have also spoken to a grom rep and got this reply. Hi Andy, I can confirm this kit would be fully compatible with your IS250 and it connects via the “external” CD changer port and then basically pretends to be a Lexus CD changer allowing it to be controlled with the same buttons/touchscreen just as a Lexus CD changer would. To clarify you will get track names and as playlists are seen as discs you can navigate them with the disc up/down controls. Alternatively if you wanted “full” integration with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto so that your apps appear on your touchscreen, please take a look at the VLine kit If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Kind Regards Richard Heap Tel: 01530 888533 email info@gromaudio.co.uk web www.gromaudio.co.uk I have also taken a look at the vline kit mentioned and have included a link for this as well. this looks very nice and the ability to use apps would be handy feature. not sure if it is just for android phones or not but I will ask this question. I hope creating this topic will help any LOC members with any information they need. I will add to the post if any more information becomes available. http://gromaudio.co.uk/lexus-toyota-2006-2009-grom-vline-infotainment-system-upgrade-video-interface.html
  2. Thanks for your response. I believe the integration kit gives cd quality sound through the stereo. my current set up definitely does this. my current kit utilises the 6cd changer so I am still able to play cd's as well as using the ipod. I may have to speak to grom and ask some questions. I have found that you can buy an aftermarket head unit but again comes from America and is a little pricey. ($799).
  3. Hi I currently have an ipod integration setup in the my is250 se-L 07 but It will not display track names or titles and I cannot operate the mm screen like an ipod. I have looked at several different ipod integration units including vaistech and grom IPD4 kit to replace it but cannot find if changing this will give me what I want. what I would like to know is 1. has anyone used either the vaistech or grom ipod kit in a lexus is250 se-L auto uk spec (i add this as the vaistech is from America and they have told me that it should be compatible but does depend on your software for the vehicle) 2. is my head unit compatible to utilise any of the functions I need. (Gen 5 i think) 3. if my generation 5 headunit is not compatible is there way of upgrading the software of the unit to a latest generation that comes in newer lexus models. i love my se-L and don't wish to change the car but not being able to see song tracks/titles or playlists is really start to grate my ocd. included is links to two products i have found. what i really what is for music tracks/albums to show on the mm screen and to possible operate the touch screen like an ipod. any help or advice would be very much appreciated. 4. thanks for the reply much appreciated. have u ever come across the nav not recognising your location when starting the car. I hope it is nothing more serious. do u know if I should disconnect the battery before pulling out the unit and checking behind the unit. thanks Andy
  5. hi can anyone help. my sat nav isnt showing the gps symbol on the top left of my nav screen and now it never finds my start location and when driving does not follow the route. i recently had ipod integration fitted and i think the gps may not have been reconnected properly or has come loose. can anyone tell me were it is located and plugs into on the back of the stereo so that i can check this before i take the car to lexus and have the antenna replaced if needed. may be a simple fix i can do myself. i cant find any videos on were it should connect to on the back of the stereo and would like to know as much as i can before i remove the stereo. i have found topics on calibrating the sat nav but dont know how to do this either. thanks Andy
  6. thanks for the info i will check them out when i go to pick it up. which will be soon. very excited :D. i know the lights are xenon so maybe hid lights im not sure. i got the price down because of the littler niggles so i am happy and will do a liittle investigating when i get the car home. it was my mistake but the leather wasnt torn but a small scrape on the plastic around the leather so not so bad. im almost certain it is the se-l, it fully loaded with even more extras than i realised. the sellar bought it from lexus bromley at 6months old. it is an ex demo/showroom model so very well equipped. mark levinson sound system, sat nav, rear parking camera, dvd, bluetooth, the standard air con, cruise control, the list goes on. pictures will follow as soon as i have some. andy
  7. I have taken your advice normski2. I went and had a look at 2007 is250 se-l auto yesterday and have fallen in love. have agreed to buy and I am very excited. there is a few little things that are going to bug me and any help would me much appreciated again to get them rectified. (im sorry but I feel all im doing is taking and not giving back but hopefully I may be able to help someone else in the future once my knowledge and experience has improved.). anyway back to the little niggles. 1) the front drivers side light is all fogged up and cloudy inside the light fitting. any particular reason for this and should I be concerned. 2) there is a small tear in the leather back of the passenger seat and would like to know if this is fixable and rough cost. 3) paint has started to bubble on bonnet due to I believe rust spot and again would like to know how to fix and rough cost. it is very small area but no it will bug me. sorry done have any pictures yet as I haven't picked up the car and will be added as soon as I have some available. apart from that the car is immaculate and cannot wait to start driving around in. thanks for all the help so far Andy
  8. hi thanks for all the replys and the welcome message to LOC. sorry for the late reply. some great info to know what to look for. i decided not to go for that particlular car so im still looking for the right one. im torn between the is250 se-l and is220d se-l. can anyone help clear up a couple of things for me. 1)what is the better car as i have found some warning to stay clear of the diesel. 2) are all the is250 se-l models yearly tax £490 as i have found some advertised at under £300 yearly tax. an example i have found is lexus is 250 se-l 4dr petrol 2007 multimedia spec. thanks again
