  1. Oh I see what you mean. Yeah, that is a bit sneaky by the seller to omit a fundamental fact like that. You have to wonder what else he might omit trying to sell the car. Not a great first impression. It's a mine field out here when looking for a car and you just have to keep your wits about you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just under the Lexus title, I thought I saw it say cat D. I have a 55 reg in the best colours IMO, silver outside and black inside. Everything works, with full service records and cambelt change 2 months ago. I love it but another V8 has come up that I was contemplating .. BMW alpina B10 4.6 but was in two minds about it as the Lexus does a great job and I might end up regretting it !!! Anyway if you are interested let me know and you can come and have a look at my Lexus. Good luck in your search whatever you decide. Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  3. I could be tempted to sell mine if you can stretch your budget a bit more...and its not a cat C or D :-) Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  4. Is it possible to tell if coolant has already started seeping into gearbox or if I have a good radiator (for now) ? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  5. I had my cambelt, water pump, tensioners replaced by powerhouse for approx £550 about 2 months ago. I think they ordered a cambelt kit with all bits and I think they are all genuine parts. Not sure if they are local to you but its powerhouse in Camberley, ask for Colin. Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk

An Expensive job but a necessity to prevent a catastrophic engine replacement !! Maybe get the radiator changed this year if I decide to keep it as I have a habit of changing my cars every yr....to many choices and I have a 4x4 itch I need to scratch Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  7. Insurance with LV ..give them a try Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  8. Snap...i ve also got an LS and and a eunos mx5 Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  9. Less painful if you think of it as £60 a yr for 10 yrs Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  10. Congratulations on the MOT... Great testament to these well built machines Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  11. Bluetooth connection is ok and I have managed to transfer my whole phone book automatically rather than one by one (android Motorola X)... But it did take a few goes and some persistence. Downside is if the phone signal strength is weak the car speaker diverts back to phone earpiece even though Bluetooth is still connected and I have to press phone speaker to hear the other person. I stream music via a sun visor FM transmitter, jabra cruiser 2. It connects to my phone via Bluetooth and I select an FM channel that is free. Works for me rather than look to hard wire anything. Hope that helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ahh I knew those boffins must have had a reason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes, I fell for the same thing and only figured it out after a couple of days of owing the car. God knows why it's not the same as the central locking duration but I am sure the Lexus boffins have a reason... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. What brand did you get fitted ? size of tank ? If I quote bluesman will they give me a discount ? [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Looks like this job is one for the 2016 Christmas list... Still feeling poor after cambelt and water pump change last month Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  16. Is there a recommended time /interval to change the radiator ? Or a way to check it needs changing ? Or can it be cleaned out with cleaning chemicals ? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks Mike, I'll have a read Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks both. I was a little scared about buying it, especially as all the electric gadgets are now 10 years old, air suspension, etc etc but I thought if any manufacturer could pull it off... It was going to be Lexus !! The big V8 just seems to power itself with only small dabs on the throttle once it's moving, all that inertia I guess. Only thing I don't like is the Bluetooth connection as it can be intermittent. The sat nav is dated and okay but I just use my phone to be honest. My kids love the heated and massage seats in the back so I just need to keep it long enough until they can chauffeur me and I can relax like lord Chas. Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  19. Hi all I am new to posting to forums, so here goes my first try. Just bought a LS430 about a month ago, silver outside with black leather inside. It is a 2005 plate with 80k on it and it replaces 61plate BMW 5 series estate. Positives Fast, quiet, smooth, gadgets Negatives Fuel, steering feel, looks So far everything is working on the Lexus and I am enjoying the new car. I had to get cambelt and water pump changed after buying so hopefully I am good to go for another 100k miles. Look forward to reading other owner experiences. Happy motoring [emoji1] Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
