  2. Many thanks for the info I will check it out when I get chance
  3. The speedo reads 65 - 70 mph and drives steady but when cruise is engaged the car speeds up to 70 then slows to 65 speeds up to 70 then slows to 65 etc etc etc mimicking whatever the speedo reads
  4. My speedo is the problem whereas say at 70mph the needle moves between 65 and 70 Touch wood the rev counter seems okay at the moment
  5. Sorry for that my sausage fingers didn't press the key twice as in mk11 The car has a "G" prefix but is registered as a 95 car and has the orange indicators and no touch screen radio
  6. What I mean is when I engage cruise control as the car takes control but mimics the movement of the speedo needle
  7. Thank you TigerFish all sorted
  8. Hi Bought another LS in the shape of one of the last MK1's made on a 95 plate My problem is that above 50 mph the needle starts to waver by about 5mph If I engage cruise at 50mph all is fine but at say 70mph the revs go with the speedo as in far as it keeps accelerating slightly and slowing which would not take long to make you sea sick lol I have searched the forum but cannot find this specific problem Any pointers welcome
  9. I have recently bought another Lexus and would like some info. My problem is I have a new email address and my old one is defunct. How do I change my details as I cannot find it on edit profile. Help
  10. My LS400 went in for some touch ups on the bumpers over the last three days but when they went to start it the battery was flat. This happened when I had the cam belt done. The car stood for twelve days when I went on holiday and started on the button when I came back. It would seem that when it is left unlocked or with the boot open etc the battery flattens. The battery shows up as fine once charged and a discharge test is done. Any ideas?
  11. Afraid I cannot help on how to immobilise the airbag circuit to work on it but maybe try to pick the brains of the local mechanics as I doubt the system will be different to most if not all makes of cars. An update on my light is that last Friday the guy that did the cambelt and water pump plugged his Snap on diagnostic tool into the car but this time told it that it was a 3.0l Camry and it connected. The fault came up as passenger airbag so he cleared the fault as he considered it to be an old fault that came back when the power went off a sort of ghost fault. So far so good as the light has not come back on and he re scanned it and it shows no fault present. Obviously this would not be any good if it was an engine fault unless they use the same software but I would say the Camry is probably two cylinders short of a proper engine lol, correct me if I am wrong.
  12. Could I be so bold as to ask how much they charged for the service. PM me if you would rather not disclose on a public forum
  13. The messages were; Cruise VSC ok EFI NG then E I will try the under dash socket
  14. Quick update I shorted the pins on the under bonnet socket but only got a couple of messages up and none of then faults so I tried disconnecting the battery again but to no avail I still have the flashing airbag light.
  15. Thanks for the pinout diagram Ruud I will have a look when I get time Sunnybrae if I get it sorted I will let you know
  16. This may not say which size the cap is but I find it very useful when changing wheel sizes so I thought I would post the link http://www.wheelfitment.eu/index.html I also use this site to calculate tyre size so that you keep the correct rolling circumference for speedo readings and safe handling http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_size_calculators.html
  17. Thanks for the very informative reply I don't suppose there is "how to" on how to short the pins or a diagram of the pin layout. I will have a search a bit later when I have a bit more time. Many thanks again.
  18. Hi I have recently bought a 99 plate LS400 WITH 109K on the clock and am loving every minute. I had the cambelt and water pump changed today at an independant garage but unfortunately the battery went flat as the boot was open(need to buy a new battery). Once it was charged up and the car started all was okay but we noticed the airbag light was on and then flashing on and off. Has anyone got any pointers as to why this might have happened as both of the garages fault scanners do not list Lexus. Any help most welcome
